A Real Hideaway in Finlaystone Park and Gardens

A better alternative to busy Glasgow with beautiful gardens, a small zoo, and endless nature walks. The property manager Neil was a pleasure to meet and get to know. The modern conversion of the Estate Barn was comfortable and clean. I would not hesitate for a return visit.

Forest retreat

Lovely, clean, spacious open plan property. Set on Finlaystone estate amongst a few estate properties. Good base for Glasgow and further. Pleasant gardens to wander around during day and tearoom on site, open on weekends. The tea rooms have the most delicious Viennese shortbreads. Can wander around woods after other visitors leave for the day.

Lovely property and so peaceful especially on the evenings and through the week . The three pooches had an amazing time walking through all the woods and paddling in the stream. The property qas very clean and had everything you needed. Its location is so near so many lovely places to visit or if you are after a relaxing stay the grounds are vast. All supermarkets are within easy reach as well. The property doesnt have a secure garden to let the dogs out but with all the grounds outside your door it 2as no problem.Lastly dont believe the weather forecast as it said it was going to rain constantly all week and we only had one day of bad rain but walking under all the trees it didnt stop us doing anything.

Loved it!

Three day trip to see Coldplay at Hampden Park. Ideal for Glasgow and surrounding areas. Beautiful country park, exceptionally attentive and helpful host and the 'Barn' we stayed in had everything we could ask for, including a great wet room to shower in.

Quiet but not

The property in itself was lovely and set in peaceful surroundings. However, if you are staying in the family barn be aware that there is another property above and you can hear everything through the ceiling - people walking and talking and if there are children running around then chances of sleep are minimal.

On the whole a really enjoyable experience

The quality of the accommodation was very good..Due to the time of year of the booking the accommodation was quite cold and we were a little anxious that having the heating on as much as we felt we needed it might incur a large surcharge. In addition, user’s manuals would have been useful for things like the coffee machine ( we didn’t get this to work) and the hob which took some working out . On balance though a thoroughly enjoyable break and would recommend it .

Amazing place in a beautiful parc
