What a great place to stay in.The property was very clean, tidy and spacious.Kitchen included everything you need for cooking and baking.Quite location few mins away from the beach.Sandra explained everything and answered to all of our questions so everything was crystal clear (same as the water in the sea )We had a great family time and are looking to come back to this place, definitely saved into "favourite" places.Thank you Sandra and hopefully see you again.

Thank-you for taking the time to review Myrtle Cottage. I am really pleased you had such a lovely family holiday and it suited your needs. Hope to see you again. Sandra
We visited the house with a 3 generation family, from 8 to 80. Everyone loved the stay. The house is lovely with 3 good sized bed rooms and a nice garden. Just a short walk to sea. Was a great stay, can only recommend!

Thank-you for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our cottage and hope to see you again.
Sandra is an excellent host and we very much look forward to staying again.
We loved Myrtle Cottage and the South facing enclosed garden was a real bonus. The cottage has character, with lots of original features and the large kitchen (with walk in pantry) really is the heart of the home. It may not have all the mid cons and modern features, but we really liked its individuality.
Vanessa and I fell in love with the house from the moment we stepped over the threshold, especially when we found home made cake on the kitchen table to welcome us. The house had a homely feel to it, was clean, tidy, well appointed with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and beautiful views of Slapton Ley at any time of the day. If you're into photography, a night shot of the Ley from the bedroom windows is worth the time setting up. Sandra, the host, lives in the house "next door" and is available for any questions or request's and she made a visit to us to check that we had settled in without any problems and to offer local advice regarding local amenities etc, which was much appreciated. 5 minutes walk away is a farm shop with all the essential's and theres also a coffee shop with cakes etc. Well worth a visit for the coffee and cake and it being the only shop for some considerable distance from the village. The restaurants and eateries on the sea-front suffered very badly from the 2026 winter storms when they were virtually demolished (U-Tube it) but they're being repaired as I write. There are now 2 x business's open for food and drink and they are well worth the money. A tip. Don't trust your sat nav to get to Torcross or you'll end up in some incredibly narrow lanes which are little more than tarmack tracks. Stick to the main road route of Exeter - Totnes - Kingsbridge - Torcross unless you like meeting towed caravans in one of those lanes.

I love your review. Thank you. Your details will help future travellers to this picturesque part of Devon. I appreciate you taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. Best wishes.
Just back from a lovely week in our favourite place . Stayed in various accommodations in the area over the years but Myrtle cottage beats them all . Ideal location , wonderful views , spotlessly clean , very well equipped . The totally enclosed back garden just the job for our little dog . If you’re concerned about the host being next door don’t be . We didn’t see or hear them other than when we had a minor problem that was sorted promptly by Sandra .Myrtle cottage is very reasonably priced compared to others we’ve stayed in in the area but with the same high standards throughout . Lovely light airy rooms ( photos don’t do it justice ) perfect for family getaway . 10/10

Thank-you for such a lovely review. Glad your week was successful and we look forward to welcoming you back next year.
1 Woche Entspannung und superschöne Umgebung. Haus war wie angekündigt einwandfrei. Vor allem in der Küche endlich mal mehr Besteck und Geschirr als unbedingt notwendig. Nicht nur die Mindestanzahl.Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: Lidl in Dartmouth, ca. 30 Minuten.

It was delightful meeting you all and very pleased that you had such a wonderful time.
We had such a lovely week. The cottage is just perfect, everything you need and only a short walk to a gorgeous beach, pub, restaurant. Hope to return soon!
The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils. The front of the cottage overlooks Slapton Ley and the beach is a ten minute walk away.
The house was very clean and location is quite with easy access to the beach. The house is equipped with everything you need.
We had a great time.Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The kitchen has everything a standard cook can ask for. Even a BBQ in the garden is available. No complaints for a short family break. Thank you
Very pleasant stay. Location was perfect everything went like clockwork from initial booking to arrival to leaving. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Very friendly and pleasant. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Thankyou for a lovely holiday.
House was as described, beautiful views and spacious. Lovely to be so close to the Ley and the sea. It was good to have games to play on the wet days. Our grandson enjoyed the garden which was much bigger than we expected from the photos. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Liz and Steve
Myrtle Cottage is clearly much loved by Raymond and his family, who are always on-hand to help with virtually anything. The stunning views and location 5 minutes walk from the beach were just the start. We really enjoyed our holiday and were reluctant to leave. My only reservation is that if I'm too glowing about it, the cottage will be more popular making it harder to book in the future! We hope to return many times over.
We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage. We felt very welcomed at check in. And the homemade cake squares were just what we needed after our travel.
Comfortable house, with a private garden and the possibility of doing a barbecue. The rooms are really spacious and well equipped and the owner is very nice.
It was a bit hard to find, but we found help easily in the village.
Would definitely come back!
We had a brilliant time, the cottage was very clean and had brilliant facilities for a family with two young children. I look forward to staying again!
