Cosy apartment in the heart of the San Sebastian Old Town and, at the same time, on a quiet street for rest. It is a building located just in front of the mouth of the Urumea River, just across from the Kursaal and Zurriola beach. It has two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a perfectly equipped kitchen. It also has a small terrace. Includes internet connection via WiFi.



It is close to EVERYTHING: 500 metres from La Concha Beach and Zurriola Beach, ideal for surfing. Restaurants, theatres, cinemas, museums, aquarium, etc. are just a few steps away. Nearby interesting areas such as Bilbao, French Basque Country, Vitoria and Pamplona are 1 hour or less away and with excellent public transport.

A frustrating experience. I recommend against any stay by BasqueStay. They prioritize profit over traveler comfort. This unit seemed family-friendly as it offered an infant crib and lots of space. Check-in was at a vending machine 15-minute walk away. I arrived at 5pm on Thursday and found an unassembled crib with mattress but not a single fitted crib sheet in the storage closet. I struggled with the crib and could not lock side rails into position. The main office was closed so I called BasqueStay's 24-hr phone line. The representative stated that she needed to contact the main office and could not assist me directly. I made a follow-up call at 7:00pm line. The assistant then tried to call the business owner directly to rectify my concern. Ultimately, I was told that at 7:30pm that there was nothing more that the company would do for me that night but they would deliver a replacement crib at 9am. At 10am on Friday morning, I made my 3rd call about the crib. I was told to remain in the unit and someone would come to help by 11am. At 11:15am, I made a 4th call, and BasqueStay confirmed that someone was still coming. At 11:45, a gentleman arrived and finished setting up the crib in 10-15 minutes. I paid 3-star hotel rate for hostel-level service. I endured a sleepless night looking after a tired and fussy infant. Don't be like me. Also, the main bedroom and hallway to the bathrooms is carpeted. From the color and permanent stain pattern, it looks to be 2-3 decades old.

A very good place in a fantastic city

The position of the apartment is perfect, and it is very well arranged Provide a small table or a shelf near the bed in the bedroom, to place glasses, phones, watches... There is no place to put those items going to bed.

Great location, but property could use some work.

The largest positive was that the apartment was in a great location. It was within Old Town and close to more shops, cafes, and restaurants you could desire. Other areas of San Sebastián were also easily accessible from this location. Check in wasn’t the best since we had to go across town to get the keys, but those details are provided prior to check in. Now the downside. The place looked dirty and run down, although it was relatively clean. The carpet was severely stained and the bathrooms were cheaply updated as they squeaked and were flimsy as you opened and closed shower doors and doors in general. Plenty of soap was provided, but we did have to buy laundry detergent to make use of the washing machine.

Disappointing

The area is great. The apartment was basic and run down. Carpets were very soiled. Wallpaper cracking. You would not want to sit on the balcony. The bathrooms though were pretty and updated.

Picturesque San Sebastian

The location is superb with access to the old town just outside your door. We arrived at the beginning of the Semana Grande festival and were treated to spectacular fireworks, generous pintxos, local dance and musical performances, and the running of the fire bulls. Also, only 2 blocks to the Hotel Maria Cristina for superb cocktails.

Perfect location and accommodations!

What a great place so close to everything. Comfortable beds and amazing views from the balcony. Very clean and nicely decorated. Fantastic find in the heart of San Sebastian. We walked everywhere and had amazing food and took awesome hikes. Highly recommended!

Great place in San Sebastian!!

Our family of three spent 8 days in San Sebastian, and around. After long days of exploring we loved to come to our place! Apartment is very well located, we walked everywhere. We had a car and unfortunately there is no free parking close enough to the apartment but we found many underground garages around our place. They are a bit expansive, 25 Euros per 24H but it was convenient. Apartment has everything we needed, dishwasher, laundry machine, fully equipped kitchen. There is no A/C but the weather was cool enough, so we didn't need it. If we come to San Sebastian again we would definitely stay at MARRUBI again! Thank you!
