The Old Dairy cottage in West Chiltington, West Sussex
Our stunning single storey dairy built c1670, was converted into a cottage in 1989 and has been recently renovated in 2018 with wooden shutters and wood floors throughout; one double bedroom with fitted wardrobe, wet room style shower with built in bench, conservatory, USB ports, dining area, kitchen with all the mod cons (inc microwave, D/W and W/M), open plan living area with log burner.
Please note SUPERFAST BROADBAND was installed in February 2021.
Outside, there’s a small private patio area with seating and BBQ if requested.
It is the perfect base to sample the Sussex countryside, events, activities (cycle routes, rambling on South Downs Way, horse riding, jousting, shooting etc).
The cottage would suit a couple (plus one small baby is possible). For visiting children, Fishers Farm Park is a 10 minutes drive. A travel cot & high chair are also available on request.
The cottage is on our non-working farm, but with a separate gated entrance and views out on to paddocks. One or two (depending on their size!) well behaved dogs are welcome and there are plenty of nice dog walks around.
It is a few minutes drive to village pub, post office and the nearest train station (which is a 1hr 15mins direct train to London Victoria). There are many attractions within driving distance.

We had a really lovely time at the cottage, the hosts were very helpful, friendly and quick to respond to any queries we had. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils and the bed comfy. Very dog friendly, our pooch really enjoyed the exercise paddock, and Monks Mead Wood which is an 8 minute drive. Highly recommend this place.
We stayed with our springer spaniel and found the accomodation to be in a peaceful location with lots of space around the old dairy
The building itself was plenty big enough for two adults and a dog the hosts very pleasant people
Fully recommended we really enjoyed our stay
First time booking a cottage, maybe we are not the right one for cottage, nothing to see around the location, cottage is clean, but some equipments are old. We made some food on first day and want to freeze them for the next days, but the freezer was broken. Hosts are friendly and helpful, some preparation of the accommodation could be improved.

Dissapointed
This property is lovely and very charming. However it is not being maintained well. The worst is the bath room, shower drainage brown and rusty. Toilet did not fill and would not flush.Kitchen well equipped but mugs provided cracked and plate chipped.one cooker ring not working.Lounge Tv stuck on BBC 1 only. When I tried to contact owner no reply. But a small Christmas tree was put up and Christmas blanket, nice touch. If the above things were corrected the place would be 5 star.

We welcome guests comments, however would prefer more timely feedback so we can rectify any issues immediately (such as resetting the TV after a power cut). Unfortunately these guests did not reach out to us during their stay (no voicemail, email, text message or even a knock on the door).
Also, we were disappointed with the state these guests left the cottage in (clogged dishwasher filter, food on the floor and an unreported breakage).
Also, please note the wet room drain is a style choice which is intentionally rust effect metal.
Very comfortable cottage with all amenities available.

An absolutely wonderful cottage!
My husband and I have stayed in many cottages during out 12+ trips to the UK but NONE as delightful as this one!! The owner thought of everything - roses, wine, and lots of goodies in the frig when we arrived and the entire cottage toasty warm. Great kitchen with granite counter tops, washer/dryer, dishwater and lots of kitchen tools for those of us who love cooking while in England. The cozy sitting room has a fire and an attached conservatory for warmer months. Our dog especially enjoyed watching for birds out the conservatory doors and running about in the field. We hated to leave and can't wait until we can return! Thank you again, Karina!!

Cloud 9 Experience!
The cottage is beautiful, compact with everything you need. The host Karina thought of everything and we were greeted with sweet extras like little jams, fresh eggs, shampoo and shower gels and even prosecco awaiting for us in the fridge. Everything you need is provided so you can cook, you can relax and watch a movie (huge DVD selection provided), do a puzzle or play other games or just chill with real burning log fire with the prosecco :) We had an amazing time here and we are so thankful that our 3 year old St. Bernard puppy and us were accepted. Perfect location and the beach is 24 minutes drive!!! Amazing! Thank you again for everything Karina, you have a beautiful home and good luck for the future xxxx
