"Brownwings" is a 3 bdrm/2 bath cabin located just above downtown Lakemont, GA. Nestled on a very private, wooded lot, this home is perfect for small families or couples who want to be very close to Lake Rabun and Clayton as well as many other area attractions including world class hiking, golf, white-water rafting/kayaking, zip lines and restaurants. It's a quick and scenic stroll to historic Lakemont village where you'll find a wonderful spa, art galleries, shopping, and a delicious gourmet deli! All 3 bedrooms open to large porches that overlook the surrounding woods. The large, front porch has recently been screened in, so that the adjoining bedrooms can enjoy the fresh mountain air! One bedroom features a king bed, another has 2 twin beds and a third, cozy "honeymoon suite" has a double bed. The living room also has a pull out sofa bed. The house is very clean and has updated appliances and HVAC. It's ready for you to relax and enjoy!

We stayed at the cabin for a long weekend. My son got married at the pavilion across the street so it was a perfect location. The house was clean and cool when we came in from a hot day of decorating so someone had it ready for us. We had a wonderful weekend and they left us some farm fresh eggs, which was so nice! We will definitely be back!

Charming Home

We spent two nights at this lovely little cottage. It's an older property, but has a quirky charm. Overall, it was clean and well maintained and the spacious kitchen and screened in porch were a nice place to relax.

We enjoyed our 5-night stay at Brownwings in October, just in time to enjoy lovely autumn views in the cabin’s peaceful wooded setting. Our group of three adults found the beds comfortable and the cabin clean and well equipped with modern conveniences. The heat and hot water worked well despite the chilly weather. We enjoyed the fire pit and the rocking chair porch. The floor plan is a bit unconventional in that you have to walk through the master bedroom and bath to access the bedroom with twin beds, but this was not a problem for our group of relatives. The cabin is conveniently located in Lakemont, a short drive from Tallulah Falls, Lake Rabun, and Clayton. The host/owner responded quickly to inquiries. We will be happy to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the historic home, Brownwings.The kitchen was large and had everything we needed to cook a large meal. The king bed was so comfy and the screened porch was spacious and cozy. The setting was quiet and within walking distance of Lakemont and Annies at Alley's Market where we enjoyed lunch. The whole area is history rich and we hope to return to Brownwings in the future.

Location is the best! This wonderful spacious home is centrally located to Angel Falls, Tallulah Falls, and Clayton and much much more. We loved the history of the home and the modern convinces without taking away from the age. The place is great for staycation and great to go and do activities. I would fully recommend and like to stay again.

We enjoyed very much our weekend stay - we wish we could have stayed a little longer and would love to come back. The cabin is historic and beautiful. The location is quiet and secluded. Everything was comfortable and roomy. Check in and out very easy. Great communication from the host with clear directions.

Wonderful stay!

What a great location for activities around Lake Rabun, the waterfall trails(Angel and Panther Falls), Tallulah Gorge State Park, and the food and conveniences of Clayton. Great cabin with good open space , kitchen, nice porches, and comfortable beds. It was perfect!

Cabin Living

The property was great, a cute older cabin with modern amenities. The room split worked out great to put our toddler in the room adjacent to the master bedroom. The views were great and the house is secluded but not far from civilization. Only challenge is cell service - Verizon worked great but ATT and T-Mobile did not have any reception in the house - had to walk down the driveway.

Cozy Nostalgia

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin nestled in the woods. The cabin was clean and well stocked. It was very roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed are little nature walk where we collected fall leaves and discovered wooden steps that led to downtown Lakemont.

Lovely house

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this house. The layout was perfect for our group--my husband and I took the room adjoining the kids' bedroom, and grandma and grandpa slept off the kitchen. Love the deck and screened-in porch. The kitchen had everything we needed and the guidebook the owners provided was really helpful.

Both the cabin and Lakemont were a charming surprise. We were a little disappointed that the fireplace didn’t work as originally advertised but everything else was great. The owner was very helpful and gave great recommendations for hiking and other activities.

Long weekend @Lakemont

House was very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Kitchen is actually more spacious than the photos. Owner was great to work with. Had hvac issues when we arrived. Hvac service was there at the house within the hour and had it repaired. Would rent again.

Cabin in the woods

A perfect cabin in the woods. The online description and photos were very accurate. The 100 year old cabin was the perfect blend of vintage furnishings for charm and modern updates for convenience. Spacious very well equipped kitchen, huge outside spaces with gas grill and functioning wifi. Property is very privately locted but a short 5 minute walk to Lakemont Village and a 5 minute drive to Lake Rabun.

Historic property with convenient location

Location is walking distance to historic Lakemont and convenient to Clayton too. The cabin is old with lots of charm and a large kitchen/dining area perfect for cooking at home.
