PRICELESS RESIDENCE in the ANCIENT VILLAGE of CASTRO MARINA (LE)

The independent house, located in the ancient center of Castro near the ancient walls of the Aragonese castle, is ideal for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Salento. It has been completely renovated in 2018, and is perfectly furnished. There are two spacious double bedrooms, one of which has a private bathroom and an ante-bathroom, a second bathroom with a large dressing room and a comfortable and bright living-dining area. In addition there is a garden overlooking the castle walls and a terrace overlooking the ancient village and the surrounding greenhouses. It is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful and scenic coastal roads, which connects Otranto to S. Maria di Leuca, passing from Porto Badisco, S. Cesarea Terme, and Porto Tricase.

We had such a MAGICAL stay in Castro! The house was wonderful and spacious and had plenty of room for our kids to spread out! We cooked most nights and the little town store was perfect. The proximity to other beaches and towns was amazing as well. We loved our stay!!

The house is in a great location near to restaurants, harbour, supermarket and the lovely square overlooking the sea. Agnes is lovely and left us fresh fruit from her garden, wine and water.The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The house was well equipped with everything you could need.The house may be better suited to 4 people as the bed for the 5th person was a fold out bed that our son did not find comfortable, or invest in a good quality sofa bed.The advertised terrace and hot tub was not available for our stay so we are unable to comment on that but the little garden was very lovely to sit in.

Lovely Stay

We spent a month in Agnese’s lovely house in beautiful Castro. It is very comfortable and well kitted out with everything you could need. Castro is very well located for exploring the surrounding areas and the location of the house beside the castle, with its wonderful views is incredible. It is a 10 minute walk to the Marina, but longer coming back as there are a lot of steps! As mentioned in another review, parts of the house could do with a deep clean but we do have high standards! Agnese was a great host and patient when we arrived late the first day. She was cheerful responsive at all times.

Fabulous house in the centre of historic Castro!

Our check in with the owner was easy and very pleasant.... the house was immaculate and very well appointed with a lovey courtyard garden abutting the historic castle walls. Some lovely touches, like wine and water as well. The position is fabulous - right next to the main square, surrounded by lots of eating and drinking options but also just a 10 minute walk to Castro Marina - or 15 if you are in the mood for the amazing night club Bluebay!! Being so central (and also in the midst of the amazing Castro WineFest) it is noisy in the morning - but that is life in a small clean town with great rubbish and recycling programmes! Highly recommend!! 😁

Fabulous location, unique property.

Located in the historic hill top village of Castro this property offers a spacious two bedroom house in a fabulous location. Comfortable and spacious accommodation for two couples with a small courtyard for outdoor dining. Washing machine available however no dishwasher. Our only criticism would be the beds, they were particularly hard to the point of uncomfortable. Regrettably one bedroom air conditioner was not working which was a pity as we had several extremely hot nights. Our host was excellent with her communication and met us on arrival. Fresh fruit and wine were a very welcome gift after our long trip. We hope to return one day.

Wonderful Stay in Castro

We thought our ground floor apartment was perfect for our week stay in Castro Marina. The air conditioning provided a wonderful relief from the hot weather outside! We had the most perfect location in the town being a stone's throw from the piazza. Many an evening there were events on at the piazza - a full orchestra with opera! We watched from the Piazza for a while and then went back to the house and sat in the back garden with the beautiful castle wall right at it's boundary, listening to the operatic singing- it was magical! Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and Gabrielle spoke perfect English which made life really easy. Accessing the town and rock/beach/marina was easy down steps that led us all the way from right near our house. It was a perfect location to explore the rest of that part of Puglia. We'd definitely recommend it! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Entspannende Ferien

Wir hatten 2 sehr schöne Wochen in dem Haus von Agnese und Gabriele, vor allem der Garten ist eine Oase der Ruhe. Morgens und abends waren wir im Hafen in sehr klarem Wasser schwimmen (Blue Flag), wir hatten keine Probleme mit den Treppen (ca. 330 Stufen). Die Wohnung bleibt sehr kühl, auch bei Hitzewellen. Die Wohnungsbescheibung auf FeWo ist nicht genau, es gibt nur 2 abgetrennte Schlafzimmer, in der Wohnküche/Wohnzimmer steht ein Schlafsofa. Für Familien mit älteren Kindern ist das vielleicht nicht so ideal. Ausserdem gibt es keinen eigenen Parkplatz, abends muss man manchmal etwas suchen. Agnese und Gabriele waren sehr hilfsbereit und unkompliziert, bei der Anreise gab es Wein und Obst. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Mini palazzo in Castro

Gabriele and Agnese’s place is a real find, a stone’s throw from Castro’s main square with views over the Adriatic. Beautiful apartment with a garden backing onto the castle walls, perfect for al fresco cooking and dining. We loved the vaulted ceilings and the stone walls kept the bedrooms cool at night. Castro is a stunning little town, with tonnes of history and we loved being able to swim each day at the marina. Agnese and Gabriele were perfect hosts, so welcoming, and their apartment is equipped with everything you need.
