About the host

Our family is from Wilmington DE area. Our parents built this house for their retirement years as well for their children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren to use. Some of our fondest memories were made here in our beach house! From walking up to the beach to have breakfast and watch the sun come up to picking crabs at night around the table - there's nothing better than being together with family and friends on vacation! There is plenty of fun things to do and great places to eat all within walking distance. The neighbors are very friendly and it's a very quiet neighborhood.
Why they chose this property
Our Father built this home in 1983 with dreams of retiring here. Over the past 35+years we've shared many wonderful summers with our parents and our children. We have watched this area grow from just a few homes to what it is today. Unfortunately our father and mother have passed away and the family isn't able to get to the beach much anymore, so we wanted to open our house to other families in hopes that they can make the same great memories that we did over the years! Luckily our father built a strong home and our parents took impeccable care of their home so that we could open it to the public. Almost everything in the home has a story behind it and although not everything in the house is brand new, we have decided to keep our personal items in the house in hopes that you feel "at home" during your stay. 1 example is the rocking chair in the family room belonged to our grandmother that she used to rock her grand kids on. It's an old one, but in great condition because it never got wet. Our grandmother and grandfather HAND MADE the rug that's in the family room. Some of the little knick-knacks were made from the grand kids, some of the items were hand made by my parents and grandparents and my father did all the tile work in the house. Actually our parents would spend more time working down there then enjoying the beach. We hope that you enjoy our home and feel very comfortable during your stay.
What makes this property unique
We love our home! It's our slice of heaven, our forget your troubles and relax place to be! Sitting on the deck in the evenings, looking at the lighthouse always reminded us that even in the roughest times , there is always something that will help guide us to a peaceful place and time!
