We enjoyed staying in this little cottage. Meryn was very fast at replying to the messages. The only thing that I didn’t like is a steep entrance to the house that makes it difficult to bring a heavy stuff ( freezer, suitcase, etc. ) from the car. Otherwise we spend a nice and pleasant time exploring the area.
The cottage is just across the beach. Picturesque nature, magical vibes, beautiful beaches. We loved our stay and created some wonderful memories! Thank you!
Across the road and down the pathway through the dunes is a beautiful section of natural, sandy beach that makes staying here such a pleasure. The swimming is fantastic.
Everything was great about our stay. It was peaceful on the grounds and the beach. We just relaxed, enjoyed reading and bbqing . That stove is a lot faster heating up than mine!
The beds were comfy and we felt very safe here.
This property was exactly as listed, and the beach was even better than the pictures showed. The private beach having its own chairs and picnic tables was so helpful. The host was friendly and the cottage was clean, would definitely go back :)
Exactly as described. Beach is great and the Balm Beach arcade is a short walk up the beach.

Nice location for a nice beach getaway with arcade nearby for the kids
Very steep and root/moss covered path leading up from parking area could be slippery especially after rain the private beach is very nice however it’s a very steep sandy hill to get to water and back up beds in the room with two beds were very thin mattresses so bringing sleeping bags would probably be a help. We enjoyed our time

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your time at our property. As mentioned in our listing, the terrain around the property and on the beach is natural and uneven, which may not be suitable for those with wheelchairs or mobility issues. We appreciate your observations and will use them to help improve our guests’ experience. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!
This was our second time staying on the Tondakea Lodge property and we love it! The cabins are cute and rustic and the beach is beautiful--exactly as advertised. Balm Beach is just a short walk up the road (or the beach!) and having the Georgian Grill and variety store so close by is great for when you don't feel like cooking/driving. We also explored the forest trail this year which was lovely. We'll be back next summer!
Just be aware, that the cottage was VERY basic and quite rundown. It only offered the absolute bare minimum of equipment (for example, ONE toilet paper roll, one extra bag for the compost bin, one dish rag, one sponge, and so on). Definitely not, like, a super cute cottage, if that's what you're looking for. It is also quite close to other cottages -- just, if you're looking for more privacy. What you really pay for is the location! The access to the beach so close by was great, and the beach was amazing! The whole area of Tiny in general was really nice and had lots to offer. The BBQ on the cottage porch was also great. And the host, Meryn, was also really nice and great at responding quickly to messages.
We had a nice time here. The description is exactly what it said it was! Nothing fancy at all but did the job. :) Beach was close.

Rental to forget
I don’t understand why this kind of rental is on VRBO. This is a wood cabine with hole on each side of the doors, so bugs can come in. There is mold at the bottom of the walls, principally in the bathroom and one of the room. The cleaning was not done, but even if the host offered to do it, it was so dirty that we didn’t want to stay there. The inside of the shower was rusty and on the pictures of the rental, we could not see it. So, we opened a case with VRBO to be reimbursed, but they told us to talk with the host, what we did. We got reimbursed only two out of four nights. No refund of cleaning fee. We are very very very disappointed of this experience with the owner and VRBO.
The only positive point is the beach.

Karyne, we don’t pretend to be anything we’re not and are very transparent in our descriptions about how we offer budget-friendly rustic getaways and not luxury retreats.
This is a simple cabin, as depicted in the pictures. There is no mold at all and the “rust” you refer to
is a slight yellowing of the shower walls due to a high iron content in our well water (which we state in our description).
For future travelers, Karyne wanted to leave after one night saying it wasn’t properly cleaned. We offered to re-clean it on the spot to her satisfaction. Still not good enough… We then went as far as to refund 2 nights out of her 4 night stay.
Karyne proceeded to open a case with VRBO to have us shut down, which VRBO promptly closed and apologized to us after the full story was revealed.
Please see our other reviews for a more accurate representation about what to expect."
Ol' Cozy was a cute cabin nestled into the forest only a short walk from a private beach for guests. Room furnishings are rustic, but the bed is comfortable and fans/heater are provided to manage your comfort.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is rustic but very comfortable! The beach is great (bring water shoes) and the chairs provided are a great touch. Our only note would be that you have to climb some sand dunes and this cottage is accessed by a trail that may not be suitable for people with mobility issues
We had a pleasant stay. Property is as described and very clean. Beach across the street was stellar. Communication with the property owners was quick and efficient. We hope to return next year. Many thanks.
We lucked out that after a last minute cancellation this property was available. The cottage was cozy and fit our needs the beach and swim was way better then I pictured from the pictures.

Family getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and location. Billy was lovely. If the bathrooms in the cabins were updated I would rent for longer, but they are very rustic (as described). The private beach is spectacular.
We had such a nice and relaxing time at the Ole Cozy, the beach is absolutely gorgeous and the cabin is really cute. We had an incredible weekend here, highly recommend!
