Concerning the stairs, here is the historical explanation: This is the Latin Quarter, a very central and old part of Paris. Many buildings, including this one, were built centuries ago with narrow staircases. When elevators were invented later, there simply wasn’t enough space to add one. Parisians are used to it and often see it as part of the charm of living in a historic building. We wouldn’t recommend this kind of apartment to anyone needing or preferring an elevator; more recent buildings in Paris do have them. As you mentioned, it’s a lovely and lively area, which many guests appreciate for its atmosphere and central location. Regarding the apartment size, it is clearly indicated in the listing but we understand that it may feel small if you’re used to more spacious accommodations. It reflects typical Parisian standards and is generally well-suited for families of 3 to 4 people. Do not hesitate to ask us for a bigger apartment for a future stay. We’re very sorry about the cleanliness issue you encountered. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we have already addressed this with our cleaning team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out during your stay in the future — we would have gladly arranged for a re-cleaning right away. As for the noise, the Latin Quarter is indeed a vibrant area with students and visitors, especially in the evenings. That said, the double-glazed windows and curtains are designed to help reduce outside noise as much as possible.
