A beautiful two-storey property in an unbeatable location, Villa Vounous offers the perfect base for those seeking to explore all the rich experiences that Cyprus has to offer. The villa enjoys a tranquil mountainside setting from where it commands stunning view of both the Beşparmak Mountain Range and the Mediterranean Sea. Directly across from the villa, on the other side of an unspoilt valley on whose edge it perches, is the magnificent medieval Bellapais Abbey, which is clearly visible from the property and lit up every evening. The ancient archaeological site of Vounous, after which the villa is named, is a stone’s throw away.

Echoing its splendid natural environment, the villa has a large garden charmingly dotted with trees and plants. The garden surrounds an overflow swimming pool that is 12 by 6 metres in size and 0.9 meter to 1.8 meters in depth. In addition to steps at its shallow end, the pool has a seating alcove with tables—the perfect spot to cool off with a drink. The paved area around the pool is provided with sun loungers and umbrellas. Near the pool is a Turkish barbecue and a small courtyard with a stone table for eight people and cushioned benches along its walls. At the other end of the property is a smaller glass table for four. Both the garden and pool are professionally maintained at least once a week.

Inside, the villa is generously sized but welcoming, with travertine floors throughout and beautiful pieces of furniture, some of them antiques and locally handcrafted objects. The large open-plan living room and dining area have French doors opening onto the pool area and courtyard. A long wooden table capable of seating ten occupies the dining space, off which is a large fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A washing machine and tumble drier are found in an adjacent utility room.

There are four bedrooms in total, two on each floor, and all with ample inbuilt closet space. The master bedroom upstairs has a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom with double sinks, a bathtub, an additional shower, and a toilet. The room next to it has a double bed and en-suite shower and toilet. Both upstairs bedrooms open onto a balcony offering gorgeous views over the mountains and sea. The larger downstairs bedroom, which has doors opening onto the garden area, has a double bed and en-suite shower, toilet, and bidet, while the smaller bedroom includes two single beds and is next to a separate shower room with toilet.

The villa is equipped with air-conditioning units throughout, as well as central heating and a wood stove in the living room for the winter. Freestanding fans are also provided. The hot water is heated by solar panels, with back-up electrical water heating available when necessary. Free wifi and flat-screen TV with IPTV satellite channels. You will also find a portable Bose music system to which you can connect your own smartphone via Bluetooth with the device connected to the Bose.

Despite its quiet natural setting, the villa is only a short drive from a variety of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets, not to mention beaches and sites of historical interest. The town of Kyrenia (Girne), with its charming world-famous harbour and array of dining and entertainment spots, is only fifteen minutes away by car, while further afield, Nicosia, Famagusta, and the Karpaz Peninsula offer a variety of unique experiences for those visiting Cyprus.
