Longreach Riverside Retreat Cottage



The cabin has absolute frontage to the Shoalhaven River on the South Coast of N.S.W

The dramatic sandstone escarpment is at the back door, the beautiful Shoalhaven river is at the front door.

From the sandstone courtyard of this renovated "Cream Shed" you will be able to take in the magnificent river scene with Cambewarra Mountain in the distance.
A short 15 minute drive west of Nowra, Longreach is a very comfortable drive to Jervis Bay, Berry and Kangaroo Valley.

Minimum 2 Night Booking

The cabin is a perfect getaway for couples. We have been operating for over ten years now and many couples return to the cabin because of the beauty and privacy the property offers. At 'Longreach' you can walk, fish and swim. You can relax and watch the cows and horses graze on the river flats or you can do all of that and take some time to explore the beautiful surrounds of the south coast. Kangaroo Valley, Berry and Jervis Bay are all short drives away. Reverse cycle air conditioning for your absolute comfort.

If you choose to you can really escape and socialise with nothing but kangaroos and wombats, 'Longreach' offers complete privacy.

The accommodation was lovely. Clean and cosy. Perfect for a couple. The cottage is very private and a good distance from the hosts property. Plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture. The property is very tranquil with cows, kangaroos, and birds including a sighting of a peacock and a peahen.Maree and George are excellent hosts. They make themselves readily available are there when you need them. Their instructions to access the property are excellent and their messages answering questions etc prior to arriving were very helpful.

Lovely cottage by the river, shielded from main house by a large hedge for privacy. It has a fully equipped kitchen including a nespresso machine, a wood fire and Tv. Kangaroos greet you in morning and afternoon. Lots of pretty bush folliage to photograh or paint. We were met with a new born calf and it's mother in the paddock in front of the cottage, a real treat to observe its first few hours of life. We'll hopefully be back again. Short drive to Berry, wineries and 7 mile beach, lots to see, hosts were lovely and our dog enjoyed seeing all the animals.

Longreach Riverside Retreat Cottage was the perfect mini-stay away from Sydney. The cottage is charming and spacious - very well appointed with everything we needed.Surrounded by enchanting gardens and plenty of paddocks to explore, walks to discover and the Shoalhaven River to spend endless hours gazing and soaking up the silent peace.The night skies were dripping with stars and you could not get more Australian than the grazing kangaroos and munching wombat in the evening.Only half and hour or so drive to the pristine white beaches if you like some seaside injection and close enough to Nowra to grab some seafood for the BBQ.Perfect for the cooler months with fire inside or out. We can't wait to come back and visit when swimming season is here!Thank you Maree and George for making this place available to share your piece of goodness.

My dog and I had such a wonderful stay – the property was everything described and even more. It exceeded our expectations in every way, from the beautiful surroundings to the comfort and attention to detail throughout.The hosts were absolutely fabulous – so warm, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful, which made the whole experience feel extra special. And a special mention to the friendly dogs, who added such a lovely touch and made it feel like a true home away from home.It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge, and i left feeling completely relaxed after a couple of days. I will definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this stay to others.

Beautiful Place

It is a wonderful place to stay for a couple and or a person with a dog. The owners are delightful and so welcoming. The place is very well kept and in a beautiful setting. It is about my 7th stay with my dog Spuddy, and won't be my last.
