Wonga Beach House is one of Tathra's original homes renovated to take advantage of an idealic location on the headland just above the award winning Tathra Beach. The house is located in a natural bush setting with stunning views from the deck and property.

Wonga is private and secluded and is an ideal place to relax with large open plan living areas and polished timber floors opening onto a huge deck where you can enjoy the abundant bird and animal life.

Sleep to the sound of the waves! Upstairs are two large and airy queen sized bedrooms while a third bedroom downstairs has two single beds with Trundles.

Wonga Beach House has a modern well equipped kitchen and ample living areas both downstairs and upstairs between the bedrooms.

Tathra Locality

Wonga is an ideal place to enjoy your holiday located as it is only a short stroll to the beautiful patrolled Tathra beach for surfing, snorkelling or relaxing.

Tathra is surrounded by magnificent Mimosa and Bournda National Parks and Reserves with walking tracks, beautiful beaches, pristine estuaries and rivers waiting to be explored. Enjoy kayaking, fishing, and boating at Mogareeka on the Bega River
Local shops and restuarants are all within walking distance as is the historic Tathra wharf. Enjoy the many galleries within close proximity. Tanja, just north of Tathra is renowned for its galleries and studios. Tathra oysters have won many awards and are only available at Tathra while many culinary delights are available locally.

A beautiful, spacious and nicely decorated house in a lovely location. A well appointed kitchen. Books and board games, great for a family beach holiday. Lots of visiting bird life and the occasional kangaroo.

We love this house

Wonga Beach House is a wonderful place, we keep coming back and we always enjoy staying there. The house is ideal if you prefer a quiet and peaceful setting, but still close to everything. Communication with Louise is easy and prompt, never had any issues. Planning our next trip to Tathra already.

Idyllic setting close to the beach

Very nice and quiet location. Close to the beach and all local shops and pub. Very well kitted out kitchen with lots of everything. As listed, there is no wifi, but didn’t really matter to us.

Relaxing getaway close to the beach and nature

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Wonga House. We enjoyed the location being so close to the beach and hearing the waves at night when sleeping. Hearing and seeing all the bird life and enjoying a drink out on the verandah. The house was very spacious for the 2 of us and had everything that we needed.

A lovely house in gorgeous setting

The house had an excellent feel and we loved being so close to the beach, and the wildlife. Very well equipped, and lovely to sit out and eat. The sleeping area between the bedrooms (4 single beds) was very open to all and had no blinds, the access to bathroom went through this space.

Low Key Beach Holiday….Exactly what was required

We loved our 4 night stay at Wonga. I especially loved that there is no WiFi, as our kids were more than happy to play board games rather than iPads. Listening to the ocean whilst enjoying an afternoon drink on the deck is heaven. Short walk down to the beach, definitely take the official beach path. Quick 5 min walk to the Wharf & Pub. Wonga Beachhouse is a great base to explore the Sapphire Coast.

How fantastic! We arrived at Wonga Beach House just after dark and when we got up the next morning we couldn't quite believe how fabulous the location was right on the beach! Beautiful views from a great house just right for our two families. Long breakfasts on the deck overlooking the beach were spectacular. We even managed a few swims on Saturday when the weather was warm. We had a terrific short stay and plan to make longer bookings in the future.Highly recommended.

Lovely girls weekend away

We stayed for 3 nights, we very much enjoyed the sunny deck which also has two shady sections. The lawn area is lovely with bbq. Cant beat the fire pit with the absolute best view of the beach. House was great, location great, very quiet, secluded and bushy with just the sounds of nature and the waves crashing. The only downside to mention about the property is you are right above the beach but the path to get to the beach is very difficult/dangerous, otherwise I would take my kids, we are all around 30yrs old and was not easy. We didn't go to the beach much as the track is too difficult, especially the hill at the bottom. Some reviews mention beach access but depends on what you call access. All in all perfect house for our weekend, thoughly enjoyed.

Fantastic Spot

What a wonderful location! There couldn't be many locations in Tathra from which one can easily walk to both the wharf/hotel/general store and to the main beach strip, but one can from here! Absolutely stay here if you can. Following for information and don't detract from the enjoyment of the property. (Very) minor cons: No Wi-fi, but mobile reception is fine so this isn't a problem. Back lounge is a little musty - this room is pretty much only for watching TV and we basically didn't use it. Layout is odd, and the single beds are on the first-floor landing, not quite a room - still fine for the kids. A little hard to find the first time; the lower entrance will have the uninitiated wondering just why they are apparently driving down a footpath..
