Beautiful long weekend

Elvie was a very communicative, caring host that helped cater to us and our puppies needs superbly! The place was beautiful and in and ideal location! Will definitely stay there again!

Dog Friendly Accommodation

Lovely Gardens and balcony to sit outside. (We had breakfast outside each day). Great location - everything within walking distance and Elvie was great with communciation and helpfulness.

What a special home away from home! We loved our stay at lavender cottage. It was in a great location being close to both the beach and shops. The cottage itself was cosy, comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you could need. Elvie was really wonderful. She responded to my enquiries quickly, and provided lots of information to ensure we had a good stay. Thank you so much!

Easter break

We had a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage. For a last minute booking it was great for our big group and we didn’t feel like we he place was too small. The outdoor area was great.

Lavender Cottage Cowes

Great location within walking distance of shops and beach. Beds were comfortable and house was cosy with lovely gardens. We were so thankful to find such clean and affordable accommodation and excellent communication with the owner allowing us to make our booking at the last minute.

Hi Lisa, It is now winter and I have just realized that I should have sent you a note from the stayz web site thanking you for the evaluation you gave us after your visit to Lavender Cottage way back in February this year! Apologies, I am still getting used to stayz's new system. Keep warm, and I hope this winter quickly ends. My favourite spot at present at the Cottage is cuddled up by the fire with a good book. Lovely cottage in great location

Walking distance to both the beach and the Main street of Cowes, and with a fenced yard, this well-equipped cottage was a great place to base ourselves with our toddler. Elvie communicated well and even left us some hot cross buns for our Easter weekend! We would stay again.

An absolute gem

My wife, son and I had a wonderful stay at Lavender Cottage. The information from the host leading up to the stay was invaluable and the house was as described, if not better. Very clean, well fitted out with everything you need for a short or long term stay and the location perfect. A short walk to the beach and the Main Street. We will definitely stay again.

Our family of 7 plus two dogs enjoyed our Easter stay at Lavender Cottage. Our host Elvie communicated well with us prior to arrival and was able to offer an early check in and late check out when we left. She also organised linen for us at no extra charge. Welcome hot cross buns and an Easter bunny left on the bench for us. Good location to be able to walk to the shops.Nice large and secure yard for our dogs who also enjoyed sitting up on the deck with us. Elvie did everything she could to give us a very comfortable stay.

Enjoyable

We very much enjoyed our stay in Cowes and this property was very convenient to the beach & shops. We did however feel that the place could have been cleaner, particularly the lounge suit and the main bedroom smelt musty, so we used the 2nd bedroom.

Great location

Lavender Cottage is in a fantastic location, easy walk to the shops and beach. Sitting on the front veranda, having a glass of red was sensational. Very private and pretty yard safe for our dog. The downside was that the house, although comfy could have been a whole lot cleaner.

A Perfect Family Retreat

Lavender Cottage was the perfect holiday accommodation for our family this Jan '16. Everything was thought of and prepared. The owner made everything so easy and was very accommodating. The location was perfect a mere 300 metre walk to the beach and Cowes main street with all the amenities. The highlight of the property is the veranda overlooking the front garden facing away from the hot afternoon sun; the ideal place to relax with a drink and watch the kids play on the lawn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would find it hard to find a better property in such an excellent location. We loved it!

Thanks Frank & Annie for your lovely review. Yes, you captured all the features we love in the Cottage too. Rain, hail or shine, that front veranda is like heaven to us all. I found the owner to the little rabbits - there was another down behind the bunks. Little 6 y.o. Eva is so happy to get them back. Your 5 children were a delight to meet. No competing with each other, just enjoying each others company. Please come again, our garden would love to have little folk playing hide and seek and all those other fun filled children's games. Beautiful well kept cottage, close to beach and shops

Beautiful little cottage. Well kept and clean. Great gardens in the big pet friendly yard. Good fencing which gives peace of mind that your beloved dog is safe and cannot get out of the yard. Big veranda with table and chairs to enjoy a few drinks on a summer afternoon. Had everything you needed so no need to pack extra things all you need to bring is your clothes. Easy walking distance to beach and shops only being a few blocks away. Elvie is a great host that communicated well with us with plenty of information in emails before our arrival . On the day of our arrival she even text me to say that the cabin was ready early so we could check in early if we were near by. Elvie also messaged after we left to thank us for leaving the cottage clean and tidy. Will definately love to stay at Lavender Cottage again.

To many rules and regulations. I felt we were entering a Corrections Facility!

I don't know why I am writing this, looking at the Guest book, I am going to be the only review that is not favourable. But you seem to want my review. There were handwritten unprofessional notes written everywhere on what to do and don't, mostly to do with keeping the place clean. It could have achieved the same effect with just one request, leave the place in the condition you found it. But there were little annoying notes everywhere. In all my experiences of staying in different places around the world, I have never had this before in my face. As well the place was musty and dusty and looked as if it was just about right, but not quite right for such a high rental per night. . Any work that had been done was not of a professional standard in my humble opinion. Please don't comment on what I have written, I am sure you are going to talk about all the positive reviews that you have had and I am not really that interested in your comments.

The notes are to assist tenants to maintain the property in reasonable condition for your stay and for those that follow. The Cottage is not a modern apartment type building which you may be used to, but that is part of the special charm of our well maintained and homely Lavender Cottage.

Wow

What a lovely stay. The cottage was so well equipped, there was nothing to want for. From cooking equipment and ingredients to the firewood and beach chairs. You are made so welcome! The beach is close and shops close. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location

Lavender Cottage is in a great location - walk to the beach (5 mins!) and walk to the shops (5-10 mins!). Nice beds, very clean and tidy, lovely veranda outside. Kids can play in the front yard - very secure. All the facilities you could want. Good base of operations.

Beautiful , Relaxing , pet friendly property

We stayed here over Christmas and were so happy we could bring our 2 Kelpies with us ! They enjoyed the large yard space and gardens . Clean , easy , cosy and so close to everything you need , no need to drive once you are there ! Elvie , thank you for a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage , you made it so easy :)

Home From Home.

A genuinely pet friendly cottage that was ideal for our elderly dog. Very close to everything so only got the car out to see the penguins and play golf. We just didn't want to leave.

Wonderful and welcoming

We really enjoyed staying at Lavender Cottage. Aside from the well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and large green garden, we appreciated the personal touches that made us feel right at home. A short walk to the beach, cafes and shops. Highly recommended.

Excellent cottage

We stayed 10 days at lavender cottage we had a very relaxing time , love the front deck where you can watch the world go by. The cottage ticked all the boxes for us pet friendly room to store our boat and park off the road. The beds are very comfy and the shops are so close by we rarely took the car out. This cottage has everything you can think of for a beach holiday. Thank you Elvie we'll be back

Cosy cottage

We had the most wonderful stay at Lavender Cottage, so cosy, clean and feels like a home away from home. The cottage is conveniently located to all Cowes has to offer, including a short stroll to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing on the front deck and exploring the delightful garden. We look forward to returning in the winter to enjoy time by the fireplace.
