We loved our stay at the Sugar Shack. The house is so cool. If you’re looking for an old school beach shack, close to the beach and nice and secluded this is it! Loved that we could also bring our dog. Heaps of wild life and the fire was perfect in winter.

Such a great house. We went as three families with teenage kids and found the upstairs perfect for the adults and downstairs perfect for the kids.House is set up with everything you need for an easy fun weekend away.Naomi was a lovely host. Thanks Naomi.

A quirky and simple place to stay as a family. Naomi was very responsive and accomodating. Lovely spot with nice walk around. Need to get in car to get to main beaches but only 5 mins away. Enjoyed to low hanging swing in the front yard! Very relaxing.

The house has super chilled vibes - set slightly raised on a lovely corner block. Great climbing tree and instagram-worthy swing out front. We tended to drive the 2min trip to No.5 beach, but it’s easily walked too. Our teenage kids loved the hang out space in the shed and we had a memorable night round the BBQ and outdoor fire at the front of the house. Hosts very helpful. Highly recommend for families or groups who value character and retro vibes.

Cool, quirky, brilliant location

Very quirky and cool home! We stayed as a group of 5 girlfriends + pup but would come back on a family holiday too with the kids - they would love it. Cosy with log burner and close to beautiful beaches and walks. Highly highly recommend!

Great week at the sugar shack

My friends and I had a fantastic week at the sugar shack. The house has a great relaxed feel but also offers much more style and intrigue than your average beach shack, the furniture and decor are a lot of fun. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and towel were all clean and tidy. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing any meal, we had everything we needed to cook for eight people. The front lawn was our favourite spot to relax, both during the day and at night by the fire. A 15 minute walk to the beach made it easy to come and go. The addition of being pet friendly was very helpful however there are no fences around the property which we weren’t aware of before arriving. All my friends were so thrilled with the sugar shack they are already looking into booking it again. Would highly recommend for any group.

The perfect getaway

Loved staying here so much! The sugar shack is such a unique property and so beautiful. Not too far from the beach and had everything we needed. We especially loved the kitchen and outdoor fire pit.

Absolutely stunning

A beautiful, cozy house in an amazing part of the world. Communication was clear and consistent and everything was as described. We were super impressed with the house itself as well as the the natural surrounds. It's an absolutely stunning little home that was delightful to spend a weekend in. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessary goodies and there isn't a thing the host could've done better. Would go back in a heartbeat !

Cool fit out, cozy, comfy beds! Short walk to the beach.

The sugar shack is a great beach house that invites relaxation. Plenty of space in the open plan lay out and a kitchen with all the ad hoc bits and bobs you might need eg. vinegar, oil, salt, pepper. Equipped with a coffee machine which was fab. Beds are super comfy. There are 2x upstairs bedrooms and a rumpus room downstairs kitted out with numerous beds. A short walk away from the beach and a short drive to Doyle’s road where you can let your dog off lead around the inlet. We brought our pooch but there is no fencing on the property so you want to make sure you’ve got good recall! Really great property in lovely Venus bay, we will be back!
