Steps to Endymion and Zulu Parades during Mardi Gras!
North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here. This home is ideally located within close proximity to numerous New Orleans landmarks including Jackson Square (1.5 Miles), Caesars Superdome/Smoothie King Center (0.9 Miles), The National WWII Museum (2.8 Miles), and the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 (3.0 Miles). If you have any questions about the neighborhood, please send us a message!
You’ll have exclusive access to the entire first floor of the duplex, including: • Living room • Full kitchen • 3 bedrooms • 2 full bathrooms • Laundry area Please note: The upstairs unit is occupied by long-term residents, but your level is completely private.
Mid-City has a pulse that's hard to explain until you've lived inside it for a few days — the clang of the Canal Streetcar, the smell of coffee from a corner shop, the way an ordinary Tuesday evening sounds like a celebration somewhere down the block. This three-bedroom first-floor unit in a classic New Orleans duplex drops you right into that rhythm, with everything you need to make it a proper home base.
The living space A bright, comfortable living room anchors the common area, centered on a 45-inch HDTV with Netflix and access to your own streaming apps. Central air conditioning and ceiling fans keep the temperature in check no matter what the weather is doing outside, and room-darkening shades mean a late night in the Quarter doesn't have to mean an early morning. When the work can't wait, a dedicated workspace in a room with a door gives you a quiet, separate corner to focus.
Sleeping arrangements Three bedrooms accommodate up to six guests across three beds. Bed linens, towels, and essentials are provided, along with hangers, clothing storage, and an iron — the kind of details that make a longer stay feel easy. Long-term stays of 28 days or more are welcome.
Kitchen & dining The kitchen is set up for real cooking. You'll find a refrigerator, freezer, electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker, along with cooking basics, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, a baking sheet, and coffee already stocked. Whether you're piecing together a meal after a long day or starting the morning slow, the setup handles it without a fuss.
Bathrooms Two full bathrooms keep things running smoothly for a group of six. Both are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, a hair dryer, and cleaning products. One includes a bathtub - useful when you want something more than a quick rinse after a day on your feet.
Extras that matter An in-unit washer and dryer takes laundry off the list. A patio or balcony gives you an outdoor spot to sit and decompress. Self check-in via smart lock means arrival happens on your schedule, with no coordination required. Free street parking is available, and the home is single-level with no interior stairs. Families traveling with little ones can request a pack 'n play with sheets and a folding high chair with padding, straps, and food tray - babysitter recommendations are available if you want a proper night out. Exterior security cameras are present on the property.
The neighborhood The Canal Street streetcar stop is steps from the front door, putting the French Quarter, Downtown, and the historic City of the Dead cemeteries within easy reach without a car. At 0.9 miles from the Superdome and Smoothie King Center, the location is hard to beat for game days, concerts, and big events. The Lafitte Greenway - a 2.6-mile trail running from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue - cuts right through the neighborhood and threads past local cafes, a micro-brewery, and more than a few po' boy spots worth stopping at. Ruby Slipper Cafe is a short walk for a New Orleans brunch done right. Jackson Square sits 1.5 miles out, the National WWII Museum 2.8 miles, and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 around 3 miles away. When Mardi Gras season rolls in, the home sits steps from the Endymion and Zulu parade routes - a position that's genuinely hard to come by.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was clean, spacious, and had plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably. The location was perfect, close to the streetcar and just a short ride from the French Quarter and other New Orleans attractions. Check-in was easy, and the host was friendly and responsive throughout our stay. We would absolutely recommend this property and would happily stay here again!

Thanks for the 5-star review! Glad the space was clean, comfortable, and that check-in and communication went smoothly. We’d love to host you again next time you’re in New Orleans.
We came to New Orleans from Minnesota for the Tall Ships and Fleet Week a didn’t want a typical hotel for our group of 6. This was the perfect place for us! Room for everyone, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of space to sit and relax after a long day in the heat. Check in was easy, host accommodated early check in as our flight times changed. Quick walk to the streetcar stops and easy pick ups for Uber into the city! Will definitely say again if we ever make our way back to the area!

Thank you so much,Lisa, what a wonderful reason to visit New Orleans!
So glad the space worked perfectly for your group and that we could accommodate the early check-in with your flight changes. The Tall Ships event was truly something special, and we are thrilled you got to experience it from such a great home base. Hope to see you back from Minnesota again soon!
Very nice, charming neighborhood, not to far from the action, very close to Lil Dizzy's (big plus)

Thanks for the review, Alex!
Glad you enjoyed the charming neighborhood, being close to Lil Dizzy’s, and that the location kept you near the action. We’d love to host you again next time you're in NOLA.
Location was amazing, property was clean and comfortable. Check in was weird, lots of hoops to jump through (I thought the point of Vrbo was to avoid that). WiFi info was totally wrong and didn’t work for the first day. We were woken up by loud parties 3 nights in a row from 1-4am. Bring earplugs in case.
Great location that was convenient to French Quarter and Garden District. House was clean and in great repair. The only negative was thay the upstairs neighbors were definitely early risers and a bit enthusiastic...but we knew it was a two level when we rented so no surprises there. Would definitely stay again - communication was amazing and the family loved it!

Thanks for the review. Glad the location was convenient for the French Quarter and Garden District, and that the house was clean and in great repair. Appreciate the note about early-rising upstairs neighbours, glad that matched expectations for a two-level home. Happy communication, and that your family enjoyed the stay. We’d love to host you again.
Very nice and clean home. All attractions were a short distance away making entertainment very convenient. Quiet neighborhood. Overall great stay would definitely book again.
Nicely decorated large space, in a neighborhood about a mile from various iconic locations in New Orleans. Excellent air conditioning, comfortable beds, and overall my friends and I had a wonderful time in the space and in and around the city.
Clean, updated home was a perfect base for exploring NOLA. We stayed over New Year’s so there were NYE fireworks and noticeable sirens due to the nearby hospital. But quieter than previous hotel stays during this time! Street parking is easy and the road newly paved, though nearby streets were in disrepair. Grocery stores a short drive away. We walked to the French Quarter and Superdome with no issues.

Thanks for the review. Glad the clean, updated home was a good base for exploring NOLA and that street parking and the newly paved road made things easy. Appreciate the note about NYE fireworks and nearby hospital sirens, and that it still felt quieter than hotel stays. Good to hear groceries were close and you could walk to the French Quarter and Superdome. We’d love to host you again.
Internet was a problem but everything else was very nice.

We appreciated the amenities, the close proximity to the trolley, and the brochures of NOLA attractions and restaurants. It was great that Michael responded so quickly to our questions.

I loved how the host was on top of communication with my questions and concerns. I did not like the fact that someone lived upstairs and they came and knocked on the door because they said we were loud. We could hear them on our end as well but we never cared because once we got there, we understood someone lived there. We did not like parking on the street for it rained the whole weekend. I loved the fact that the house was clean and had everything we needed. I did not like how the day we were leaving to checkout, someone came and asked can they get the linens like 15 minutes before time. Everything was cool if you are used to that type of stuff but I’m not so I’ll just stick to hotels when traveling cause I love housekeeping with clean everything and plus no complaints from neighbors. Stuff happens so they shouldn’t have never knocked on the door. It made my boyfriend mad mad where he went to the door historical. The host was very tentative and I did like that. Thank you and this is not a bad review but I am just voicing my experience.
This property was perfect for our family of 4 (which includes two teenage daughters) on our non-traditional Christmas vacation. Location was close to the Street Cars or an Uber had in the French Quarter in less than 10 mins. The pictures and description of the property were accurate and everything was exactly as we expected. So much to do and see, we will definitely be back.

I’m glad that everything met your expectations and that you had a great time on your Christmas vacation. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit!
Other than receiving the incorrect code for the door lock (called and got the correct code) everything was as advertised. The place was very clean and with in 3 block of the street car line.
I experienced a little difficulty but that is mainly because I’m not the best at using technology sometimes.

Perfect Rental for safe, comfortable, clean Stay in NOLA
Four adults on first-time visit to wonderful historic New Orleans. Great location, easy access from I-10, super convenient access to RTA trolleys and bus. Quiet neighborhood, nice accommodations (Pro Tip: even though this is not a “party place” it needs a set of wine glasses.) ID verification/checkin process is a nightmare, worst we have ever had at any VRBO locations; otherwise would have rated this charming rental a 10/10 Five Star. Would definitely stay here again if we ever get opportunity to visit amazing NOLA again! Thanks!
Internet wasn’t working properly when I arrived. Was fixed within a hour. Not told till after I have arrived , that there was street construction on going in front of house. Parking was available on opposite side of street. Not in front which disappointed me. The home was beautiful inside. Bright and clean. The sink drain in the master bathroom needed to be clean out for proper drainage. That also was repaired within a hour after notifying home owner. The home owner was very accommodating and quick responding to my request. The repair items were minor, but it was items that I should not have had to report. The repairs were done on my time and I think should have been checked prior to rental. House keeping certainly would have notice the clogged bathroom drain. I would love to stay at this rental again, next time I am in the area. I payed rental for a week and only stayed 2 days, because my plans had change, not because of the house. Looking forward to next time.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest feedback. We're truly sorry about the initial hiccups with the internet and the drain, as well as the unexpected street construction. We understand how that could be frustrating. We do our best to address any issues promptly, and we’re glad we were able to get everything resolved quickly for you. Your comments are appreciated and will help us ensure a smoother experience for future guests. We're thrilled to hear you loved the home overall and would be happy to welcome you back anytime your travels bring you to the area!

Feels Like A Corporate Unit vs Home Away From Home
Admittedly I’m at the tail end of the baby boomer generation so we didn’t grow up with technology. It’s not my first rodeo using VRBO but there were technical difficulties making payment and submitting a background check form. When I asked the host for information about grocery stores in the area, I was sent a link with names of restaurants. It wasn’t what I asked for but I was able to find a WholeFoods on Google. I LOVED our location in the residential area of Treme because it was in walking distance to Congo Square, CBD and the street car to French Quarters. Having three bedrooms was perfect for us because we each had our own room. There were a few details like fridge water filter needed replacing, the towel rack in one of the bathrooms was dangling and a chair in one of the bedrooms was broken. The host sent someone right away but this should have been taken care before our arrival. I don’t know if the unit above us was a VRBO guest or a tenant renting. Saturday night he had a party and was playing music loudly. There is no insulation so we could hear everything. Again I reached out to the host and surprisingly I received a call, not a link, reassuring me it would not happen again. One of our travelers went home on Monday and two of us had reservations in a shotgun home (Garden District) I asked the our host if we could leave our luggage until 3pm. I was sent link on where I could store our luggage. Frustrating! The host at the shotgun house said no problem.
