While on the east, the Atlantic Ocean beckons fishermen from afar. KYC is 25 acres of restful solitude with 24 hour gated security. There are two heated pools, kids playground area, two tennis courts & 2 Paddle Board courts, a 4 acre salt water lagoon, community 5 BBQ's and 2 fire pit areas, marina with free boat launch, 1,000 ft jetty for sunset watching and fishing, and many walking trails right on the property. While visiting Kawama, make time for all the local attractions. The Everglades National Park is about 50 minutes away, with plenty of eco-touring and airboat rides. Key Largo's pride and joy, The John Pennekamp State Park is only 5 minutes away, MM102.5. Notably known for the first undersea park in the United States, where the famous statue of Jesus can be seen, all encompassing 70 nautical miles. Catch the "Glass-Bottom Boat" or the many snorkeling boats for enjoyable ocean exploration. Hiking and biking trails located within the State Park, with nominal fee for park maintenance. Molasses Reef is located within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, which is east of The John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. This "bucket-list" diving spot, Molasses Reef, is known for being one of the most beautiful coral reefs in Florida, marked with an unmanned reef lighthouse. The "African Queen" boat famously known for Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn's 1951 film, is located at MM 100.5, in the heart of Key Largo. In 1992, this was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Just below Key Largo, in Islamorada (approximately MM 82), the charming village of the Moorings Village is the filming location of the Netflix hit series, Bloodline. Go across the street, on the bay side, to Morada Bay and sit and watch the sunsets and take photos next to the "crooked palm tree." Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace is located 29 miles from Kawama. On the way to the Everglades National Park, stop at the outlets and do some great shopping.
Our townhome, renovated for the Key Largo vacationer, is very comfortable. Third floor with 2 bedrooms; extra deep queen mattresses, black-out curtains, and smart TVs, and private balconies. The third floor bathroom with large walk-in shower. The 2nd floor, main living room with open concept kitchen dining with full bathroom. Sonos music, smart TV, board games, books, magazines, local info to enjoy on front and back balconies. The chef prepared kitchen with stainless steel appliances; full utensils; All-clad & Cephalon cookware; Henkel knives; offers a high 4-top table. TV trays for balcony eating. Charcoal grills located between unit L1 and K4; and two charcoal grills located at beach. First floor with leather sofa bed, queen size. Linens stored in cedar trunk. Sofa bed has a 4 inch memory foam topper located in closet of 3rd fl bedroom. 100” deep seated couch can provide a twin size bed (next to sofa-bed), also located on first floor. Fold-out toddler bed located in closet of 3rd fl BR. Portable crib free upon management request , with linens. Licensed to provide 6 adults and 4 small children ample room to enjoy a safe environment.
Boat slips are available, but availability is limited; special arrangements must be made prior. Please ask prior to arrival with a boat. The marina rules are to be followed without exception. Liability insurance is required for all vessels at security gate entrance before full property and marina access.
Pets are allowed. This is a non-smoking property and strictly enforced. All laws, rules and regulations for Monroe County and the HOA must be followed. Any violations will result in immediate termination of tenant occupancy without a refund.

The unit is exterminated every month. We are surrounded by parks on 3 sides. Please keep all doors and windows closed. Do not leave open food out on counter or leave trash outside. All mattresses are covered & sealed to prevent bed bugs. This unit practices all CDC guidelines for cleaning.
