My family stayed here while visiting Yosemite. It was a nice house overall. The owners thankfully added a newer AC unit to a room upstairs, but this house does not have central cooling air for the summertime. We did not have any major issues with that since we put all the kids in the room with the AC unit. That being said, I would not recommend this to a family with little kids 3 and under. It’s just not set up for littles. Otherwise getting away for a Yosemite visit with friends or an older group, this would be satisfactory.
It was a very average cabin built in the 1970's. Everything was in working order except we couldn't figure out the heat. The property manager was very responsive and came over immediately. It was a breaker that had to be switched over. Lots of deer and turkeys wandering through the property. We chose this property because it is handicapped accessible and there are 2 floor level bedrooms, a bathroom, and kitchen and living room all at floor level.
We enjoyed four nights here while we visited Yosemite. We enjoyed the lake here as well; we rented a paddle boat and enjoyed the free boat taxi as well. The town (grocery, restaurants etc) are only a few minute away. The cabin is a bit more rustic than we are used to but was clean and adequate. There is only a window AC downstairs and it was hot weather, but we opened the windows in the evenings and blasted fans from the windows and it cooled down upstairs well.
The Jessup property was very nice and cozy! We were so glad that it had a couple AC units because it was a hot weekend! The bedrooms were nice and spacious, bathrooms were clean, noise didn’t travel between rooms (crying baby upstairs didn’t wake us up downstairs!), and kitchen/living room were nice and open so it was easy to prep/cook while visiting. We’d definitely stay here again!
If you are renting in the summer and like to have air conditioning then this isn’t the place. He had ONE downstairs AC window unit. There is absolutely no air flow upstairs. It felt like an oven the entire time up there. We couldn’t even sleep up there. We all slept on the couches downstairs. Nothing looked clean. It was disgusting. I felt creepy vibes the entire time. The TVs barely worked. WiFi kept turning off and wouldn’t hardly work. This is not a child friendly cabin like it says it is. My daughter wouldn’t sleep in the bed so we had to get her pack n play out and put her in it. It’s something when your toddler feels uncomfortable too. When you walk inside it does not look like the pictures he posted on this app.

Hi Renee,
We are so very sorry for your experience. You are right we need more AC in the unit and due to your response I am now in the process of consulting with the owner to see what we can do.
In the past the one unit has been enough to keep the house at a bearable temperature even when it got hot. During your stay it didn't just get hot it broke an all time temperature record for that date. In past years a lot of the older Cabin's had no air conditioning due to the fact it wasn't very hot here. Obviously that has changed and it gets hotter every year.
I will respectively take exception to your statement everything looked dirty. I do know the house was cleaned by very competent housekeepers. I do understand you were not comfortable and probably angry at us.
Please accept our apology and we will endeavor to do a better job in the future.
Michael
