Everything about my family's stay was superb. The accommodations were comfortable, the host had seen to it that everything we needed was there, and the instructions/communications were excellent. Our visit was during summer and we enjoyed the beautifully landscaped yard. The firepit (with s'mores!) was a huge hit with the kids. I'm sure that no matter what season you came, your visit would be as wonderful as ours!

Deborah and her group were great to host. It was wonderful to hear that the kids had started a new diet sensation called "the s'mores diet," enjoying the fire pit on a regular basis. Deborah's crew, like good boy scouts and girl scouts, "left their campsite better than the found it" by taking excellent care of the property and even left a small pile of prepared camp fire wood for the next group to enjoy. Any host would be most fortunate to welcome Deborah and her group to a stay at their location.
The property was lovely, and overall, our family really enjoyed our stay. The photos made the house feel a bit more spacious than it actually is, but it still had everything we needed and felt cozy once we settled in. There was a bit of a lived-in scent at times—though I’ll admit I’m extra sensitive to that kind of thing—so it may not be noticeable to most.On the bright side, the open fields around the home were perfect for our pup, who absolutely loved running around and exploring. The location made for a nice weekend stay to attend a close friend's wedding. A nice spot for families, especially if you’re traveling with pets. I would recommend the cottage for folks traveling to rural CT.
We absolutely loved our stay. The home is located in a quiet rural area but convenient to great hiking, two major universities (UConn, ECSU), a winery and many historic sites. The decor was delightful and included some lovely watercolor paintings and baskets, gorgeous bedding and a handsome livingroom. The kitchen was well equipped, and every room was spotlessly clean. Our contact, Doug, was affable and a font of useful information. We loved our stay!

My daughter, her bridesmaids and myself stayed for two nights the weekend of her wedding. The place was neat, clean and cozy. We enjoyed the fire pit and the fact that there was plenty of parking. We had a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at the property. The family loved the fire pit and the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend staying here!

Clean, well stocked , relaxing property in an area with lots of outdoor activities.
Would definitely return for another stay.
Quiet, private location, but close and easy driving distance to Windham and other area towns. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and clean. Great home base for our group of friends. Love the fire pit in the backyard!
When staying away from home, there are three subjects that are must requirements. Lodging must be clean, quiet, and safe. The cottage here checks all of those boxes. The name is appropriate because it is quiet, peaceful, recharging to one's peace, and feels just like home. The location is secluded, yet the few neighbors are friendly. The interior is well-appointed and comfortable, and the experience was uniquely pleasant. Thank you to the owners for an enjoyable stay.

From the Owner: "Chris and Clara, Artie and Nylah were delightful guests. It was a pleasure to introduce them to their first visit to the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. Their review demonstrates that they picked up on what we love about this part of the country. Their thoughtful review reveals they were a perfect match for Quiet Corner Cottage!"
We had an amazing time at The Quiet Corner Cottage! Very private and secluded, the property is ideal. The house is very cozy, clean, relaxing and was equipped with everything we needed. The hosts are very helpful and very responsive. Thank you for allowing us to spend time in your beautiful home!
Beautiful property, surroundings, VERY clean! We enjoyed our stay from the moment we walked in - the firepit brought a new light to our Thanksgiving as we had dinner out side.
Doug was very attentive to my questions and I can't thank them enough for sharing their home!
This home is like leaving your own home to house sit for a friend. That's how well stocked and comfortable it is. From comfortable beds and living room to a great kitchen and ping pong in the basement (like when we were kids), this house is well loved and taken care of. A short distance from our relatives in Hampton makes it a home we will definitely visit/rent again in the future.
This property is in a beautiful area with lots to do outside. We were there for a wedding.
Everything was very clean and well stocked with what we needed for our family with ages 5 to 93.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the "Quiet Corner Cottage". We appreciated the little extra touches like the welcome sign and the fall decorations. The house is beautiful and well stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need. We also enjoyed sitting around the fire pit with our glasses of wine from a nearby vineyard. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!
We stayed here for my brother’s wedding nearby. We were pleased by the beauty of the land and home. A lot of love has gone into the place and you can feel it as soon as you enter. I wish I could continue to rave about the experience but on the second day, as we were getting ready for the rehearsal dinner, we discovered water coming out of a pipe in the basement. We immediately called and Doug sent a plumber to snake the line. We could’t shower or use toilets prior. We made the best of it and realize things happen that are out of a host’s control. The plumber discovered it was not a clog but a full septic tank. A member of our party spent much of the rehearsal dinner pleading with Doug to send an emergency septic pump company. There were 5 local companies listed as available 24 hours. Doug refused, saying that it would be dark and the septic is in the woods. It is almost summer solstice and light after 9 pm. They had hours to fix it in daylight- would not do it. Doug told us to use the facilities at the rehearsal dinner restaurant because we’d have to wait for the next day to have running water or toilets. We had elderly with us. We had a wedding in the morning. I won’t go into details about how terrible that night was but we did not have the option to go anywhere else with the amount of wedding responsibility and elderly people we had. The septic drain field does not drain. They know this and haven’t fixed it. It is raw sewage, not water, coming from that pipe. Be aware.

Jezika, Thanks for your feedback on your stay. We appreciate your acknowledgment that sometimes things happen that are as you say, "out of a host’s control."
- We provide the basics of all soaps, garbage bags, towels, and linens.
- We were able to get the Rotor man on site very promptly and he made his assessment that the tank needed to be pumped. As it turned out, we needed to call him back to return to remove a clog. We felt very blessed that the pumper was able to return our call at 7 PM and promise to return the first thing the very next morning. We understood you wanted them to come earlier and we got him to commit to returning at 6:30 - 7:00 AM next morning to accommodate your schedule. He came very early as promised and you acknowledged that he had kept his promise.
- After asking what kind of concession we could provide for your inconvenience, we agreed on a number together. We thought it was adequate but you later contacted Evolve for an additional amount.
- We provided all that you asked for. We wish you and your group all the best. Sincerely Doug and Sharon.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for.
Very cute cottage. Beautiful firepit area. Cute kids room and living room. We loved the blue bedroom decor and the bed was comfortable. Wish their were curtains or blinds in the main living areas like the kitchen and living room.
We had a wonderful weekend at The Quiet Corner Cottage. We were gathering to honor our loved one's 50th birthday. The cottage had everything we needed to host a big family feast, with a well stocked kitchen that had plenty of counter space for such a meal. The dining room was a bit too small for our crowd as we had some extra guests that showed up. But this didn't matter because we just used the picnic table outside as the weather was gorgeous. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and much thought had gone into the details and furnishing of the space in each of the rooms. And there was an amazing cross breeze through out the cottage when we opened the windows! We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous firepit for hours on end just catching up and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the country side. A wonderful excelsior all together!
Absolutely breathtaking! Nothing was spared when decorating, designing, and stocking this rental. Doug was so kind and thoughtful. A must rebook situation for sure.
This place is BEAUTIFUL!! The Quiet Corner Cottage is a great place to get away from everything and relax in nature. We had a great time and really enjoyed the peaceful country scenery. The house was just as described with plenty of amenities, wonderful, welcoming and warm. Communication with the host was always friendly, responsive and prompt. We had a wonderful stay and hope we have the chance to visit again!
Cottage in the country was just what our family was looking for. My mother can’t do stairs and the bedroom on the first floor was perfect. Plenty of space for my family and the backyard was beautiful at night. We were in town for a wedding and was very close to the location. Our stay was excellent.
Great countryside setting for a small family reunion. We enjoyed gathering around the fire pit at night and taking in local attractions during the day. Highly recommend for folks looking for a tranquil escape. The cottage has lots of amenities and Doug was a fantastic host. We will be back next year!
The property that this little house is kept on is BEAUTIFUL! We made good use of the fire pit, making smores 2 nights in a row. The house itself had everything we needed, from blankets to dinnerware. The only thing we could have used more of were towels, and less of was bugs.
