Perched above the bay, this bright and comfortable three-bedroom home offers relaxed coastal living with spectacular views across the hills, sea and sky. It's ideal for couples, friends and groups looking for somewhere peaceful to unwind while exploring Christchurch and Banks Peninsula.

Wake up to sunlight streaming through the windows and enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the changing colours of the hills. Spend your days exploring the secluded Cass Bay beach, nearby walking tracks and the vibrant harbour town of Lyttelton, just four minutes from your door.

Guest access
Check-in is fast and easy using our smart lock. Our official check-in time is 4pm, but we can often offer earlier access as soon as cleaning is finished. Just ask and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
We cannot usually accommodate late checkouts due to tight cleaning schedules.

You'll have the entire property to yourself — there are no hosts on-site and no spaces shared with anyone outside your group.
There is free off-street parking for two vehicles on our parking deck at street level.

Access to the front door is via a short flight of stairs from the parking area, and there are also a few stairs from the hallway to the living area.

Safe street parking is available for additional vehicles if required. Please let us know if you'll be bringing more than two cars.

Cass Bay beach is an easy walk down the hill. A shortcut between numbers 1 and 3 Mariners Cove gets you to the beach in less than five minutes.

While there are some buses on the peninsula, we recommend having your own vehicle to explore the area and make the most of your stay.

Bedding for the sofa bed is kept in the cupboard under the TV.

Other things to note
♨️ Spa / BBQ
Guests are welcome to enjoy the spa pool and BBQ. Please follow the house guidelines to keep everything clean and enjoyable for everyone.
• BBQ: Wipe down surfaces or wash the grills. Coals can go in the rubbish once completely cooled.
• Spa: Please check your feet for sand, pebbles or grass before getting in. The spa lid must be lifted carefully and kept in the holder while the spa is in use. Please ensure the lid is always replaced when the spa is not being used.
Extra cleaning fees may apply if the spa or BBQ are left excessively dirty (minimum $50 for BBQ, $200 for spa).

🐾 Pets
We love animals, but due to host allergies we’re unable to accommodate pets — this includes assistance animals. Thank you for understanding.

🎥 Security
For your peace of mind, there’s a single outdoor camera overlooking the parking area. It’s not actively monitored, but recordings can be reviewed if ever needed. There are no cameras inside the house.

🧦 Comfort Tip
The house features modern tile and wood floors — stylish and easy-care, but they can feel a little cool on your feet in winter. We recommend packing socks or slippers to stay cozy during your stay.

🛒 Local Area
Cass Bay is a peaceful seaside community with no shops or restaurants, so we suggest stopping in Christchurch for supplies on your way. Nearby Lyttelton (just 4 minutes away) has a small supermarket for essentials, plus great cafes, bars and restaurants. Don’t miss the Saturday farmers’ market if you’re here for the weekend!

🔥 Gas Supply
The house runs on bottled gas. If it ever runs out during your stay, simply switch to the full bottle (instructions are provided at the house). Once you’ve switched it, please let us know so we can arrange a refill.
💡 Tip: If your cooktop still works, the gas hasn’t run out yet — no need to change bottles!

🔐 Smart Lock
You’ll receive a unique code for the front door before check-in. The door locks automatically after a short delay, so you don’t need to lock it manually during your stay.

🧺 Laundry
Please feel free to use the washer/dryer in the laundry space off the main hallway. There is also a second dryer in the master bedroom cupboard for our cleaner's use only- please don’t use this one during your stay.

🗑️ Rubbish & Recycling
Cass Bay has limited bin collection (fortnightly), so we really appreciate your help keeping things tidy.
Please use the bins on the parking deck:
* Yellow bins: Recycling (paper, plastic, glass, cans)
* Red bin: General waste

There are two yellow bins — please fill the first before using the second. Feel free to use the bins for rubbish from your stay, but we kindly ask that you don’t dispose of excess waste brought from elsewhere, as space is limited. Additional charges may apply if excessive rubbish is left behind to cover disposal costs.

Sorting your recycling helps keep the red bin free for general waste — thank you!
