About this property

Set well off the road. A private and secluded cottage and although there are no sea views it is within a short stroll to the coast. A real suntan with great outdoor living.
Queen bedroom. Plenty of flat areas for parking a boat.
Three sandy beaches and a rocky foreshore close by.
Small boat access within 5min.
Great snorkeling, diving, swimming, water sports and Bush walks at your doorstep.
Tuateawa is 19km from Coromandel town on a road that is partially sealed.
A secret slice of paradise waiting to be discovered. Sky television is connected but no Wi-Fi.
Wake to the sound of bird calls and go to sleep with the sound of ruru (moreporks).
You may even hear the kiwi call in the neighbouring valley. Dogs are welcome.

Adored Ruru Retreat!

Absolutely loved this lil slice of native bird and bush paradise! So close to the coast so your spoilt for choice for beaches. Do recommend bringing your bug spray and citronella candles but honestly this lil cabin is such a vibe! The kiwis calling and Little Bay were highlights for us - and being able to bring our old Labrador mate on holiday with us. So special. Thank you again and we will definitely be back!

insgesamt schöne lage, aber

teilweise etwas dreckig und staubig und die anreise erfolgte über einige schotterstraßen, also mit mietwagen nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Secluded blissful stay 🌸

If you want to get away from it all, then this is your spot. Tucked away in the forest, but still close enough to hear the ocean. Beautiful setting with lovely birdlive. Enjoyed spending Easter weekend there for a propped rest. No cell reception, so be prepared.

Ruru cottage, Tuateawa

The photos advertising the rental are misleading as to view. The only view from the cottage is a raupo swamp backed by a hillside of Manuka. The stove does not work. The freezer was full of someone else’s meat which the agent had to come and clear so we could use it. The light over the table did not work. No bedding for the child to use the pull out bed. No chairs. The enjoyable parts of our visit were visiting friends at other rentals, the fireworks display on NY’s eve and visits to the Brickel railway and to Colville.
