About this property

Beautiful Victorian Carriage House w/Private Beach. Special Sun-Fri!

Just a pebble's throw (about 100 feet) to the private beach, the Carriage House of Onset Village is situated on beautiful Onset Bay. The Carriage House is just a short walk over the stone bridge to the village with shops, restaurants, the Onset Pier and a summer full of events. From the cocktail deck, there is a lovely view of Onset Bay!

The second floor unit has a contemporary, open layout with the feel of a modern cottage. The kitchen and living room are open with a sectional in the living area. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and another with a double bed and trundle bed underneath. The kitchen is outfitted with all the necessities, including dishwasher. There is a full bath with tub and towels are provided. A stackable washer/dryer is located in unit.

Linens are provided along with beach towels, beach chairs, wireless internet and cable TV with DVD player. There is an outside shower to keep the beach out where you'll want it and a gas grill for those slow summer evenings.

While we welcome children, with respect to our downstairs guests, the upstairs is not a good fit if you have younger children who are active. With that in mind, we ask there is no running in the unit.

The house was great. Jude was very easy to get a hold of and very responsive to messages. The view was beautiful beach was clean location was great. We enjoyed it so much that 3 of the 10 people in our group stayed an extra night

The location and home were lovely. Nicely decorated, very clean all the extras you could use to make for a comfortable stay with linens and accessories. Pictures depicted the home. The two bedroom second floor apartment can definitely use a second or possibly third AC as it was quite warm with just the one. guests needed to leave the bedroom doors open. Also, it was noted that a trundle for a fifth guest was offered but was a twin mattress under the bed as well as outdoor shower encouraged to remove the sand however it was not available. Earlier check in would be more accommodating as well. All in all a wonderful vacation thank you.

No central air conditioning. Bedrooms were hot. Fan and light switch in small bedroom didn't work.No DVD player.Frying pans old and in terrible condition. Not healthy to use . Couch cover was not clean enough.She didn't pay the Net flix bill . So couldn't finish watching an episode.

Ethel, I am surprised by your review as when I spoke with your husband a couple of times, he said you were both delighted! We did have the hottest 2-3 days that I believe has ever been had on the Cape! We just don't get 90s so very unusual. There were fans in the closest. And true no DVD player as no one uses them any more but simply log into their streaming service to watch. So no Netflix bill that didn't get paid but likely you were logged into my account and there were too many users. But again sorry you were disappointed and a little surprised. Just reaching out to me (which you did earlier in the week) I could have helped resolved some of these issues.

Nice time in Onset

We enjoyed our stay in Onset Ma. The rental location was really good. The rental was good too. The outside balcony had a beautiful view of the harbor which we enjoyed for morning coffee and evening cocktails. We had great communication with the owner.. The rental was clean and well appointed. I would definitely recommend it.

A little Bit of Heaven!!

Had a delightful week, the rental was clean and well positioned steps from the beach in a quiet neighborhood (other than the continual barking dog for 5 days!!) It is very easy to visit other areas of the Cape and with the good weather couldn't have asked for a better rental. Sit back on the beach with a good book. I will definitely return and hopefully next year!

Amazing Stay!

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the carriage house at the end of July. The location to the private beach was excellent, it was right there. Perfect way to spend the day, especially during the pandemic. The house was lovely, very clean and everything you needed. The balcony was wonderful. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset or have coffee in the morning. Communication with the owner, Jude, was fast and easy. Definitely recommended staying here. We can't wait to go back.

Onset

The Carriage House in Onset has pretty much been a staple in our lives for the past 14-15 summers with 2 exceptions (Covid when we did not travel to East Coast & ‘21 when we were unable to make our dates work). It feels like home for us!

Wonderful carriage house

My girl friends and I were on our 22nd girl trip and our first time to MA. The house is in the quaint village of Onset and is just a few steps from the beach. It was clean and nicely decorated and well supplied with necessities. Off road parking was a great bonus. It was also an easy drive to Buzzards Bay, Hyannis and Barnstable to take whale watching tours or the ferry’s to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Owners were very pleasant and understanding when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the carriage house. Would highly recommend the carriage house, the owners and the location.

Wonderful, walkable, and cute

Adorable property, very clean and accessible to walking distance restaurants/downtown/beaches. My kids (5&3) thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the wonderful private beach. The kids still talk about exploring the shells and tide pools. I would highly recommend Jude’s property… we stayed in the top unit, but she also has the bottom unit. She was staying downstairs with her family the weekend we visited and did complain about the kids walking around in the morning, so if you have kids I would recommend staying downstairs if you can (we booked that first but she asked us to shift upstairs so her family could visit)… very difficult to have young children sit still :)

Onset Vacation

The listing stated a trundle bed, however it was just a twin mattress on the floor under the bed. The silverware drawer had mouse droppings. In the coffee table drawer were used dirty tissues. In the dresser drawer there were a pair of mens underwear.

Hi Barbara, thank you for your review. This is first I've heard of any mouse droppings! I will have an exterminator come over immediately. Please note that I have also just changed cleaners so do apologize. As for the mattress under the bed, we found the trundle bed was just not comfortable so put a twin size mattress under the queen bed that is much more comfortable.

Very nice property and very responsive owner. Pictures need updating and the fact that there is now central heat and air versus window units liasted in amenities makes it more desirable.

Wonderful place

My husband and I and our adult daughter stayed here over the long holiday weekend and had a delightful time. The place was very clean and well-appointed, the beds extremely comfortable and the kitchen seemed fully stocked, although we didn’t do any cooking beyond making some toast in the mornings. Jude was quick to reply to any messages— and was very gracious about my parking in the wrong place one evening😊. Even though the weather was a bit cool for it in early October, I loved starting each morning on the deck with a cup of coffee, gazing out at the bay/ocean. Would definitely return on our next trip to the Cape.

September in Cape Cod

Jude’s place was perfect for our September visit to Cape Cod. Communication was fast and easy. The place was exactly as described. The beds were comfortable and it was a quiet neighborhood so we were able to leave windows open at night. We used the place as home base and drove to a different city every day. We were able to walk for pizza and breakfast. We loved having coffee on the deck looking at the water.

Oh, that ocean breeze........

Very enjoyable comfortable vacation. Jude was easy to be in touch with. Loved the short walk to town for breakfast at Pier View Resturant each morning. Sitting on my balcony enjoying the ocean breeze. Nice for my daughter & granddaughter to be able to visit.

Great place for a week at the beach

Great location within easy walking distance of downtown Onset. Clean, cozy upstairs apartment that was perfect for three -- my wife and I plus our teenage son.
