I would highly recommend this stay! The home is so peaceful and quiet. Everything works very well, including the A/C. The surround property is beautiful and the hosts are very accommodating.

Nice cottage but not ready for prime time as a vacation rental. We booked a VRBO to have a house where we could prepare meals as a family. However, the microwave was flaky and would intermittently make loud warning beeps, including waking us up in the middle of the night. The dishwasher also broke down on our first morning, locking most of the plates, silverware, and pans inside. Prep and cleanup for the remaining meals were quite challenging so we had to mostly eat out. Both appliances are older so the failures were understandable, especially for a kitchen that isn’t in daily use. However, the host’s limited and ineffective attempt to remedy the situation. She also had a very defensive attitude that is entirely inappropriate for the hospitality industry.

I am so sorry you felt that way. My husband and I spent time trying to unlock the dishwasher with no luck. We have a repair man coming so I am not sure what else I could have done. Limited and ineffective seems a little harsh. I am sorry you felt that I was defensive but I have never been asked for a refund before in ten years of renting, I think I was just surprised. Since there are place settings for 8 people, I am confused and did not know that you did not have enough china or silverware.

Peaceful and private

This farm house was absolutely perfect. Very clean, had all the kitchen utensils you may need. The owner was great with communication prior, during and after the stay. Loved having the fireplace available for our evenings. Would definitely stay here again !!

Quiet Retreat

This property is somewhat remote and pastoral on a non-working farm. Just minutes from one of the oldest ferrys in CT that takes you across the CT River into some quaint old towns such as Chester and Essex. The cottage is fully equipped with plenty of room and very comfortable. A delightful place to stay!

Land that time forgot…

Clean and quiet, except for the chorus of bird song each morning. And the turkey on the fence projected a proprietary attitude, but beside that, I would have no qualms booking again, especially when cool weather returns and I could really enjoy that living room fireplace.

Convenient Seclusion - A Delight for Birders

This is a delightful property that is immaculately maintained. It sits near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac at the end of a country road, very close to the Connecticut River. Coffee on the front porch is a special treat. My Merlin Bird App from Cornell (free on Apple) recorded the sounds of 12 different species of birds in just a few minutes during our first morning. While highly private, the property is convenient to a wide range of activities in the area. The owners are special people and very attentive. We highly recommend this property.

This is a cottage, but one of the nicest you'll find. It's on a farm, so don't expect a sterile environment, Wild turkey wandering the roads, spiders making their webs where they please and the occasional deer are to be expected. Still, very quaint, reasonably clean for the setting. Full size fridge, big kitchen sink, cozy living room, comfortable beds, and privacy. A bit off the beaten path, but 20-30 minutes from most anything on the shoreline is a small price to pay for the quiet. Acceptable internet speeds for the locale. All-in-all a very pleasant stay.

Truly idyllic!

The day before my friend and I were set to travel to CT, we found out my family had COVID and we were in a scramble to find a place to stay on short notice. Clinton was quick to respond and saved our trip! The house and location are absolutely charming. It's a quick drive to many great restaurants and scenic towns. We had many a relaxing evening on the porch just enjoying the peaceful countryside. You will not regret staying here!

Wonderful Property!

This home is a must if you are traveling in that area. The house and location is beautiful. The owner is wonderful to work with. I have used VRBO on several occasions and this is one of the best experiences my family has had! 10 plus!

Idyllic country cottage

We loved this cottage! My husband and I live in NYC and were seeking a quiet getaway with our 5 yr old. It is private, on the end of a dead end street, and has a large front yard and backyard. The inside is tastefully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable. We brought our bikes and enjoyed biking in the area - there were very few cars on the roads and beautiful side roads to cycle on. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

Gorgeous getaway!!!! Sublime setting. Dreamy house.

This is the place to unwind and feel uplifted by nature. It is the prettiest setting ever. Great for long walks in beautiful surroundings. Bring your camera! The house is extremely nice. Spotlessly clean and in the best taste. It was just perfect for reading by the cozy fire and drinks on the porch. We were so delighted by every detail of our stay. Could not recommend it highly enough. Plus the owners are delightful. This is an exceptional spot!
