This was a charming farmhouse home on beautiful property. Close to the town of Mystic and the Mystic Aquarium. The owner was very easy to communicate with.
We loved everything about this property. The views from the deck are stunning and serene. We enjoyed walking the paths, bird watching, star gazing at night on the deck and exploring the private beach.
Udder. Heaven is an absolutely amazing vacation place. Beautiful area, quiet, fabulous views and beach. I have been renting on the CT shore for 40 years. No place has come close to Udder Heaven.
Loved the view & walk to the beach. Apartment was quaint and well equipped. Enjoyed meeting with the owners & family. Accommodating & friendly. My lab loved meeting the other dogs in the area.
We had a great time, hiking, biking and driving the truck down to the beach. We even got to take our 4 year old son kayaking for the first time . property with so much history!
Great week at a lovely property with great access to a private beach. Our new dog enjoyed being in the ocean for the first time and we grilled out and enjoyed the sun. Lovely property that was very private and quiet. Recommend renting kayaks up the street and explore the sandbars and nesting areas from the water. We’ll be back.

Thanks, Daniel! We look forward to having you and your pup back for another visit!
This place was absolutely stunning! My family and I spent Memorial Day weekend at Udder Heaven, and what a piece of heave it is! My son and I walked the area and explored, and my husband flew his drone over to the lighthouses for pictures. Absolutely beautiful! The house was well stocked. The beach was close and so quiet and private. will say carrying some tick repellent bug spray is a must!! We definitely found some on us, but it is the season for them. When we put on the tick repellent spray, there wasn’t an issue. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!
Wonderful location with full access to estate grounds and waterfront. Cottage is charming, very well renovated, clean, and has a wonderful view to the water from the deck. Owners were great to work with, and very accommodating. We are very selective and would recommend this property without hesitation. It exceeded our expectations, especially with the amazing property, its size, and seclusion. Our dogs had as good a time as we did. It was a privilege to stay here and take it all in. We will be returning!

Andrew,
Thank you for your wonderful review. We look forward to welcoming you back again!
Betsy
We spent two relaxing weeks at Udder Heaven and loved it—this being our second visit at this charming summer house. The cottage is a timeless slice of old New England, right out of an Andrew Wyeth painting. Betsy and family members could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The property is located amidst an elegant antique saltwater farm, meadows, and fields, and is bordered by Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River. There are birds, beautiful vistas at every turn, pathways for lovely walks, and a gorgeous sandy, private beach. It is a little piece of paradise close to many places to explore, and we look forward to returning next year.
We had a wonderful stay on this historic property. Caroline was easy to answer questions and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. She added a gas grill and there were many extras in the barn: beach chair and essentials you might have forgotten.
The cottage was so well stocked with seriously everything you need to prepare meals including wine glasses, good quality knives and serving platters, even storage containers.
The view is just glorious from the top deck with a nice table and umbrella. We enjoyed walking on the beach - a short walk, and took many drives to adjacent towns. This is a fabulous, quiet, peaceful location.

About the host
Hosted by Caroline Griswold
The property has been in the family for literally centuries, and relatives own the surrounding land. Generations have lived or visited here, enjoyed the uniqueness, the beach, the marshes and the fields.
Why they chose this property
This dwelling once was part of a working farm, where the dairy functions were carried out. Thus the name Udder Heaven arose. It sits in the old barnyard, building mainly used for storage and equipment. Udder Heaven is a single unit on the second floor, storage, car port and laundry are on the first floor.
What makes this property unique
Access to the marshes, Long Island Sound, beach, river, hiking trails and fields are the primary attraction. Artists sometimes visit and paint landscapes, and children find the beaches fantastic for collecting shells and pebbles. Birds abound with a plover sanctuary on Griswold Point.
