This is a beautiful huge place with lovely grounds and a big heated pool. There were 14 of us and we were all comfortable with lots of space to play. The pool and hot tub were used all day long and the games room was fun for all of us . The hosts are generous and communication was excellent. Expensive but worth the price for the memories and the excellent place
The house worked really well for our family reunion. There were twelve of us in total -three generations and one dog. We were ages 6 to 80 and the pools and hot tub and games floor were used by everyone. Our host was always available to answer any questions and gave us a good tour of the house with explanations on all the gadgets, pool operations, etc. He also gave us details on activities and restaurants in the area that we might enjoy. The large kitchen had everything that a top notch chef could need and it was the centre of many activities. It was the best VRBO that we have ever been to and I would recommend it highly.
This house was great for our family get together. Lots to do and spaces to be together and find a little quiet. The pool and games room were very popular. The surrounding areas are lovely with lots to do and explore.
We loved the house and the area. Our family has gone on a trip together (3 generations) for the last 10 years. Your house was the nicest house that we have stayed in.
We celebrated a milestone birthday and had all our adult children and grandchildren join us. Great space for family time fun. Lots activities to do on property. Central location on island to travel to offsite locations (Victoria
There were lots of places to socialize: the pool area, the back deck, kitchen and games area. We held a family reunion and the home offered everything we needed, including creature comforts. We especially enjoyed the acreage and privacy. Our family from Ontario loved seeing elk on the estate. We picked the perfect house!
Great location for our family reunion spanning three generations (ages 10-79). Property is incredibly spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves.Location was great. Property is massive and offers plenty of privacy, yet it's just a short drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and other amenities in Cobble Hill and Mill Bay, making it the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. The pool, hot tub, and games room (pool table, ping pong, and air hockey) were the highlights with the kids. Adults also appreciated the well-equipped gym, which has lots of natural light despite being in the basement and allowed the early risers to work out without disturbing anyone else. The kitchen is large and exceptionally well stocked with cookware, spices, and cooking essentials, making it easy to prepare meals for a big group.Edward was a fantastic host—very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. He gave us a tour of the property on arrival, explained how everything worked, and when our group grew to 18 people, he made sure we had enough sheets, blankets, and towels for everyone - we brought the extra air mattresses. The only thing to be aware of is the bedroom and bathroom layout. While there are 7 bedrooms and 5½ bathrooms, 6 of the bedrooms are upstairs and share just 2 full bathrooms, so a bit of coordination was required. Overall, this is an excellent property for large family gatherings, and we would happily stay here again.
Exceptional property for family reunions - something for every generation. Kitchen layout was phenomenal, we had a professional chef in the family & everything about the kitchen made for a spectacular cooking & hosting experience. The home accommodated all scenarios - from remote work to teen fun to 80 year olds with mobility issues. The home is stocked to the gills and the set up is meant for guests to feel at home. The pool and hot tub are a resort experience and the many sheltered gathering places made for fun morning, noon, and night. The gym was an extreme hit as well and the theater is something to behold as are the DVD and VHS collections. Lastly, the location is unparalleled- close (7 minutes) to quaint Mill Bay shopping center making shopping a breeze, if you can catch the Mill Bay ferry try- it’s a tourist experience in itself. The trail system in the woods of the property meant taking a walk or trail run was available “out the back door”. Shawnigan Lake, Kinsol Trestle and farm stands are all short drives away. If you’re planning a family reunion or need lots of space, this is a property that won’t disappoint.
