About this property

Waterfront Classic Kiwi Bach

This classic waterfront kiwi bach sleeps up to nine people. There is a swimming pool as well as safe swimming for kids at the sandy beach.

-designed for entertaining all year round
-two sheltered covered outdoor areas and an outdoor fireplace.
-fish from the rock wall on the property
-plenty of secure parking for a boat and other vehicles
-an open fire, heat pump, double glazed windows, underfloor insulation.
-very private
-walk to Mapua Village and the Wharf (brewery bar, wine bar, dining ice creams)
-family friendly
-2 canoes

This is our family bach. It is classic kiwiana where some things have remained the same for the last 70 years, but there's still modern conveniences like a dishwasher and heatpump. You can really relax and not be too precious. It is great for kids.

Cosy in the winter and cool in summer. A great base for day trips to the Abel Tasman National Park, wineries or the Great Taste Trail. Only 15 minutes from Richmond and Motueka and 25 from Nelson City.

Access is via a lockbox.

Our second stay here and we loved it as much as the first time. We are grateful you choose to share this place. Location is amazing and we love the feel of it. Fire kept us warm and cozy and the great views for when the weather is not great.

Beautiful view, warm, clean and lots of room. The house was hard to find in the dark, but we got there. Maybe a reflector at your entrance for those travelling in the winter. My family was very happy. Thank you.

The quintessential Kiwi bach. Absolutely stunning features, the cathedral timber ceiling, timber floors, open fireplace and a very efficient heatpump. We loved the proximity to the beach, the children collected shells and had a wonderful time playing outside and indoors with the excellent choice of games and books. They even paddled their feet in the swimming pool.This bach isn't uber modern but we loved the simplicity of it all and the overheight benches in the kitchen as we're tall people too (but not quite as tall as the previous owners!). A fully equipped kitchen, heating in every room, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, everything for a relaxed stay.Would we stay there again? In a heartbeat. Loved, loved, loved it. Oh, did I mention the bird life? Weka's even came to say hello!

My family had the most wonderful autumn experience here. The days were sunny and warm and then the fireplace at night made the home cozy. There was everything we needed, including great boardgames. Would love to return one day if we can. Thank you.

Lovely peaceful location just outside Mapua on the ocean. We loved the privacy, the space inside and out and the comfortable bed. All the amenities needed for an extended stay were provided. Host was very helpful to answer any questions. We like the location for day trips to Abel Tasman area.

Fantastic stay - outdoor space was amazing. The views beautiful. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and seating - which was great as we were a group of nine. Pool was well utilised as was the outdoor fire and BBQ. Good quality sheets and towels. One queen bed was super comfortable but the other unfortunately not so much. Highly recommend!!
