Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fantastic location, amazing views and close to coastal walks and beaches. The property is in need of some tlc, cleaning cob webs and pest control. Showers are leaking all around screens and doors. Otherwise it’s well stocked, beds were ok, a bit soft for us, and great air conditioning (if needed). Thank you for the lovely bottle of wine.

Perfect, relaxing family getaway with magnificent ocean views!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic, relaxing stay at Fishermans Bay! The place was spotless, comfy and in a great location with magnificent ocean views. We had a little trouble accessing the key lockbox at first, but a quick call to the Stay Port Stephens team sorted it out. They were friendly, helpful and easy to deal with.We were celebrating my wife’s 40th birthday and it was the perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway. The only minor issue was that the heater/air con in the master bedroom wasn’t working properly and was only blowing cold air, which wasn’t a big deal. The vacuum cleaner also wasn’t working, so we used the broom provided in the laundry to clean a few areas. Again, not a major issue, but just something to note.Other than that, everything was great. We’d happily stay again. Highly recommend!

Whilst the view is lovely, the house is somewhat lacking. The oven didn’t work, as the seal was broken, the kitchen is poorly stocked and the house was very dusty and dirty in cupboards and under the beds.

Beautiful home

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Amazing property with Incredible views. Looking out over the ocean. Managed to spot humpback, whales and dolphins while sitting on the deck while drinking a coffee. Lovely furnishings and comfy beds. We had a wonderful few days here. Property is looking a bit tired in a few places and would benefit from having instruction manuals on how to work the oven, heating/aircon systems etc. also, check-in process and retrieving security bond from rental company all a bit laborious and complicated.
Response from VrboOwner on 6 Aug 2025

We appreciate your feedback regarding the property and the amenities, and we’ll certainly take your suggestions on board to improve the overall experience, including providing clearer instructions for appliances. Regarding the bond refund, we do apologise for the delay. A Perfect Oceanfront Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ocean’s Edge Retreat was everything we hoped for and more! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking ocean views—truly a peaceful paradise. The space was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The beds were incredibly comfortable—we all slept like babies every night. It’s hard to find places that strike the right balance between cozy and spacious, but this retreat nailed it. It’s perfect for families, with plenty of room and a calm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. And the best part? The price was more than reasonable for everything that was included. Great value without sacrificing quality. If you’re looking for a serene, family-friendly escape with stunning views and all the comforts of home, Ocean’s Edge Retreat is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Location, location, location

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This stay was all about the location and the view. Amazing views straight off the cliffs, and if you're lucky enough to stay during the humpback migration season, you've got front rows seats to the best show in town! We were lucky enough to witness so many humpbacks passing by, blowing, breaching, slapping fins and tails and just generally having fun. No better spot to stay. The house itself was very comfortable, with the lounge and kitchen positioned perfectly to take in the view, so even if it's raining, you can still enjoy the location. Just be prepared to bring your own pantry staples such as glad wrap/baking paper as only tea/coffee/sugar was supplied. Also, if you request to have the twin beds made into a double, make sure you confirm before you arrive to save any hassles for both you and the housekeepers!Loved staying here for the humpbacks :)
Response from VrboOwner on 7 Jul 2025
Hi Narelle, Thank you so much, Narelle! We’re thrilled you had front-row seats to the humpback migration — truly one of the most spectacular sights! It’s great to hear the house was comfortable and perfectly positioned to enjoy those views, rain or shine. Stay Port Stephens Team
