Overall great place- would stay again 😁

Amazing location, easy to find, instructions of check-in sent day ahead were clear and easy to understand. Very comfortable bed, lots of towels, lots of books and dvd to choose from (even though dvd player wasn't working and all dvd were in Portugese). Salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, coffee and tea provided. They could improve on cosmetic side of the apartment (fresh paint to cover water damage on the walls) and more instructions could be in the apartment how to use Aircon to warm up the room . Also there is no elevator so it's not reachable for people with walking difficulties.

Highly recommended

Check-in was a breeze with great communication on our way there from Sofia (who also gave us some superb local tips on arrival). Apartment was spotless, spacious and in a perfect location - walking distance to everything, while also being on a very calm street. Would definitely return - highly recommended!

Bolhao Apartments Porto

We were very happy with the Apartment. Plenty of facilities to use if you wanted too. Cleaned and tidied regularly. Reception staff could not have been more helpful. Very good location for the Metro and only a short walk to the Centre and/or many bars and restaurants.

NIce apartment!

Helpful staff. Very clean and well equipped. Yet it's not so good for those carry big luggages as there is no lift! Also, the shower water was not strong enough.

We stayed in the standard loft apartment. It was a perfect base for exploring the city. The room was well maintained and the staff very helpful. Joanne was fantastic and offered us lots of advice about what to see and do. The apartment was well equipped, kitchen and TV facilities excellent. Will definitely be staying here again.

Brilliant location with everything we needed

The location was perfect; metres away from Bolhao metro station (no changes required from airport) and within walking distance to all of central Porto. Duarte and Joana were both welcoming and helpful for our whole stay. The room was immaculately clean, very well equipped (down to ice cubes in the freezer) and had plenty of room to settle in for the week. I loved the coffee machine but ran out of pods and bought the wrong ones at the shop so be sure to only buy the same brand. The bathroom, although not pictured online, was clean with plenty of towels, a hairdryer, handsoap and shower gel provided. The glass shower cubicle had good power and hot water. I have only two small complaints. One is that it was extremely hard to avoid hitting my head on the sloping ceiling twice a day when getting on the bed. I am 5'4" so took the low side but even I gave myself a few good knocks when forgetting to crouch down. I understand it is a loft so options are limited, but it might be worth rearranging somehow to get the bed elsewhere. Second, the air conditioner was quite loud. I would still happily stay in that room again though.

A central location close to amenities and Metro!

When to assist my daughter who had finished her Erasmus year and the accommodation was ideal as we both had separate sleeping areas. There is a supermarket a few minutes away and it was like a home from home experience. The staff were very friendly and were most helpful We were able to leave our suitcases in a locker which was perfect!

A home from home

The apartments was very clean and had all the amenities you need for a short break; even a washing machine. The bed was comfortable. Staff was incredible friendly and made you feel very welcome - almost like old friends or family. The apartment is well situated next to the metro station and within walking distance of the main sights, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Bolhao apartment

Welcomed by Paula on arrival who showed us around the apartment and offered to point out on a map the local sights and eateries including where to have ‘the best’ francesinha (it was amazing), traditional Portuguese food in a local family run restaurant (the offal and white bean stew was really good), and of course pasteis de nata. Apartment was spacious and well laid out, bed was comfy, extra towels available. Wood floors a bit creaky in certain areas, but to be expected. The people in the second floor apartment were a bit heavy footed at times but we were out exploring most of the day. We didn’t use the kitchenette except the coffee machine and fridge but appeared well equipped including microwave, hob and dishwasher. Good WiFi connection. They also have a phone with app installed you can take out and use with maps and sights (we had inclusive minutes and data so downloaded the app onto our phones instead). Apartment within walking distance of major sights in our opinion; we walked everywhere, but Bolhao metro station is on the same road (direct train about 35min to/from airport) and there is a bus stop outside.

Good place to stay for lots of different reasons

There are many good things about staying in Bolhao Apartments. First, it's really easy to get there from the airport, which is only 20-25 minutes away on a metro line that stops 3 minutes' walk away from the apartment (and which has up and down escalators), and amazingly the ticket costs less than 2 Euros. Also, the local metro stop offers connections to five different metro lines - and the sixth is only one stop away. So it's easy to get around the city if you don't want to walk. It's not situated on one of the quays overlooking the river and the iconic Ponte D Luis I... it's up at the top of the hill. That might sound disappointing but it means that you don't always have to walk UPHILL (or take the funicular) to get to most of the main sights. Some (for instance Avenida Aliados, Capela das Almas) are on the same level and accessing many more (like Se Cathedral, Torre dos Clerigos, Livraria Lello, Igreja das Carmelitas) only requires you to walk down gentle slopes. I also liked the fact that the apartments are located in an old building in a residential neighbourhood, with the Mercado Bolhao food market across the road, a Pingo Doce supermarket one street away and lots of high quality delicatessen type shops all around. So you get to see a slice of local life if you stay there.

Lovely spacious apartment great location

Lovely stay apartment was immaculate and comfortable. Great location in central position to all attractions. Only a couple of minutes from Balhao metro station. Joana could not have been more helpful showing us the apartment and then taking time to tell us about all the attractions on a map of Porto. The apartment also has its own phone for guests to use during their stay. Full of useful information about attractions and restaurants etc. Exceptional service. Guests should note there is no lift in the building. Thank you we hope to visit again.

My new favourite place

One of my new favourites places! Porto is an absolutely amazing and beautiful city with so much to do. The BO apartment we stayed in made this trip even better. The apartment was fully equipped, modern, clean, comfortable and had lovely traditional windows which let in lots of sunlight. The staff were so helpful in anything we needed and were always making sure to cater for our every need. The rooms come with a smart phone that you can take out with you every day with a built in app with recommendations on places to go, restaurants to eat at and much more. The app then connects to your maps on the phone which gives you live directions as you walk! Free data, calls and internat usage meaning you never need to worry about finding your way around the city. Never seen any hotel provide this service before and we used the phone every single day and night. We didn't know about this before and it made such a bonus to our trip! The location of the apartments is excellent with walking distance to most places. The metro is at the top of the street and delicious restaurants everywhere to walk to. I don't know what could of topped this place and trip! We were a couple who stayed for 5 nights and I didn't want to go home. I will highly recommend Porto and BO apartments to anyone.

Great central location, fantastic friendly people

Fantastic stay - despite late arrival nothing was too much trouble - made to feel very welcome. Perfect 10 min guide to two days in Porto with super restaurant reservations. Great central location and easy to access parking nearby. Handy to be able to leave luggage after checkout the next day.
