Incredibly comfortable bed. Daily clean done to a high standard, but room in need of a refresh and a deep clean (on arrival there was something trodden into the carpet that I was able to remove with a stiff shoe brush and a bit of elbow grease)

well equipped room. comfortable bed. nice, deep bath. breakfast was ok but not great: no soya milk or any other non-diary alternatives. also, no GF bread. nice staff, especially the gentlemen from Italy with whom I had a pleasant chat.

Convenient location and nice rooms

Perfect location, easy access to the metro, and walkable to the shinjuku center and restaurants. The hotel took care of our luggage for the next trip and the Italian guy at the reception was very helpful with us. I recommend this property

Citadines Shinjuku looks like a run down property. The reception was also looking very cramped up and many places in the hotel specially the flloor corridoes were have a foul smell. The carpets looked run down and there is a major overhaul required in teh hotel. The rooms were small but confortable enough compared to Tokyo standards. The amenities were sufficient. If the hygine part is taken careoff then it is a good hotel to stay.

It’s in a quiet part of Shinjuku just 5 minutes from the metro so really convenient. Rooms are a good size, mattress and pillows were the best ever. I got such good sleep there.

Nice, well maintained property. Reception staff are very helpful. Large rooms with kitchenette is very useful if you are vegetarian like us. 7 mins walk to Shinjuku-Gyoeme station. 15-20 mins to the other 2 Shinjuku stations or to central Shinjuku shopping areas.

Don’t Expect Too Much

We were expecting better based on the number of rave reviews. It was adequate and very accurately represented in the publicity photos but our room was rather tired & worn with some unappealing stains on the curtains and a sofa past its sell-by date. The fridge was battered (probably as a result of not being fixed in place so it slid around when opening the door) and the table was chipped and stained. The window of our room looked out to the wall of the neighbouring building, which made for a dull and claustrophobic environment. One of the weirdest things is that they insist on payment up-front on arrival. I’ve never known an hotel to do that before and it was inconvenient. This could well be a case of not measuring up to our usual standards for accommodation because Tokyo is expensive and we didn’t pitch accordingly. We wanted the freedom of self-catering and laundry facilities etc. but this place felt more of a young families and older backpackers choice rather than the retired, independent travellers that we are.

We enjoyed our stay: the room was clean and quite big for Tokyo standards. We only had breakfast once and it was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful especially when we asked to ship our luggage to the next destination. Position or great, in a quiet part of Shinjuku but close enough to metro and the most chaotic area and there is a 7eleven just around the corner

Excellent hotel, one of the best we have stayed in for a very long time. Everything you need is here, local restaurants and supermarkets near by, bus just outside, post office round the corner. Staff are excellent and helpful in every way possible. We will be staying again on our next trip to Japan.

Good base for Tokyo adventures

Very nice stay in busy Shinjuku. Property is modern and well maintained and room was great for us with our baby daughter. Staff were lovely and looked after all needs. Only negative was 15 min walk to main station but we knew that before booking and didn't impact us.

I stayed here for a week and their English was immaculate, the staff became my source of info for anything I want to do and they provided brilliantly, even pointing out new routes I can take to the (Subway station to Sensoji Temple that I didn't know about). There is 7/11 store that you can walk to and you can withdraw using your international bank card. They were there to support me throughout my stay and I couldn't ask for more, place was kept tidy with housekeeping every day. Breakfast is provided with a fee, there is also an extra fee once you arrive that you need to pay excluded from the price listed, this is I believe 2000 JPY. Definitely worth the stay, slightly distant from main Shinjuku station and can take you 20-30 mins to walk, so I suggest taking the subway.
