About this property
Lovely dog-friendly 2-bed cottage in Cotswold village with pub
No. 32 is a lovely stone cottage in the Cotswolds, in North Cerney, near Cirencester. This pretty 2-bedroomed cottage is situated next to our home, so creating the perfect cosy, comfortable retreat has been somewhat a labour of love.
Our aim is for you relax, unwind and make the most of your surroundings when you stay at N.32, so during your holiday you will have exclusive use of our gated drive, a private patio and a lovely, large back garden complete with fire pit and children's play area.
LOCATION N.32 is located in the heart of North Cerney village, next to its little primary school. The cottage is set back from the road and looks out onto a pretty cottage-style front garden. A 5-barred gate opens into the spacious driveway between N.32 and our home (you will have exclusive use of this drive throughout your holiday).
ACCESS The cottage , though it shares its back wall with our annexe, is detached on three sides, and so feels private. It has two separate entrances, one at the front of the house, and the other to the side.
GROUND FLOOR Entering through this side door you find yourself in the light and airy kitchen where you will find everything you will need to be able to cook away from home without compromise.
The ground floor layout is open plan, and as a result feels unusually light and airy for a traditional cottage still rich in character. We have created zones for lounging and dining and provided plump cushions and warm throws to encourage you to take some time to curl up next to the fire with a book, or treat yourself to an indulgent afternoon snooze. For younger guests, next to the TV we have provided a selection of board games and there is an XBOX One with two controllers, complete with a selection of games suitable for children 12 years and under.
UPSTAIRS The bedrooms are reached by stairs by the side of the kitchen area. All rooms lead off a small, carpeted landing, among them a light bathroom, equipped with WC, bath and over-bath shower, and a study/utility room laid out with desk, chair and washing machine (available for your use).
Both bedrooms look out onto the pretty cottage-style front garden and are each equipped with fitted wardrobes. We have taken care to create the bedrooms we would choose to sleep in with calming colour-schemes, high quality furniture and 100% cotton bed linen with a high thread-count (300 minimum).
PATIO & GARDEN A highlight of N.32, particularly during the warmer months, is the access to outside space. The study/utility room opens out onto a spacious, private patio, the perfect space for eating al fresco or relaxing and soaking up some sun. Table tennis is also provided for those feeling a little more energetic!
We would like you to really feel at home at N.32, and so during your stay you will have exclusive use of our tiered, lawned back garden complete with children's play area with wooden framed swings, walkway and slide. For long, lazy nights under the stars, we have created a cosy stone circle with fire pit for you to enjoy.
Our aim is for you to feel that you can make full use of the garden, and so will respect your privacy and refrain from using it during your stay. We may occasionally sit out on our own patio (separate from that of N.32 and not visible from N.32's patio) at times when the garden is free.
CHILDREN & GARDEN SAFETY We would suggest that currently N.32 is not suitable for children from crawling age to 5 years old due to potentially dangerous aspects of the garden: The garden is on an upper level and there is a large stone staircase running down to the parking area from the edge of the garden, which is currently not child-proof. Both garden and parking area are gated, however again these are not completely child-proof as are unbolted at present. Our aim is to improve this and make the cottage and garden safer so that we can welcome families with toddlers and very young children, but this is a project for later this spring/early summer.

About the host
Hosted by Shân Hughes
Hi, I'm Shân. I live in North Cerney near Cirencester with my husband Howard, our two dogs, one very patient cat and varying numbers of children!
Any spare time we have in between parenting duties, work (Howard) and studying (me - I'm currently training to be a therapist) is usually spent relaxing in front of the fire, getting out and about with the dogs or frequenting the many restaurants, pubs, theatres and cinemas we are lucky enough to have in this area.
Howard and I have both travelled a lot, for business and for pleasure, and have high standards when it comes to what we expect from a trip away; my aim is for these standards to be reflected in our holiday homes.
