Beautiful stay at Moorland View, ideal base for exploring the Peak District. Cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need for your stay. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone wishing to visit the Peak District
We had a four night stay to get away with family. The little cottage is perfect for 4 adults and toddler. It is very well equipped with cracking outside space and lovely views. The only downside for us was it wasnt really walkable to anything because the road is quite busy, but is very near everything with a car. If you want to relax with a small group definitely give this one a look
We had a wonderful time. The weather was great. Lots of lovely walks with our two pups. The cottage was wonderful and had everthing we needed. The garden was indeed escape proof much to our Beagles annoyance🙂 She so loves to explore.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
Pretty little cottage. Warm and cosy. Lovely welcome package. Sarah was a very helpful host responding quickly to any communications. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the cottage. Bedrooms perfect - living space a little small for 6 adults. But overall very good
This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful location. Moorland View Barn really is the perfect property for us. It felt like we were coming home to this cosy, comfortable and perfectly appointed property.
The beds are so comfortable with the softest pillows and the property has everything you could want... we even discovered a brilliant board game in the upstairs wardrobe (all about the London Tube system, hilarious!).
We are local to the area so enjoyed trips to Bakewell, Chesterfield, Chatsworth and Baslow. We highly recommend staying here and will certainly be back again next year.
We've just spent the best week with family from Nottingham, Grantham, Derbyshire and Ireland in this beautifully converted Barn.
The accommodation was clean and very comfortable and full of everything you could need. We were very lucky with the weather so were able to make full use of the beautiful outside space, and particulary the outside log burner, which kept us lovely and warm as the nights got cooler.
We couldn't get enough of the fantastic views over Eastmoor and loved the local walks around Curber Edge.
We were lucky enough to be staying during Chatsworth Country Fair and spent a fantastic day enjoying all its delights. We even saw the flyover of the Lancaster Bomber from the barn itself.
We truly couldn't have asked for a better holiday and hope to visit the barn again soon.
We hebben genoten van zowel het huisje als de omgeving. Vanuit het terras een super uitzicht. Het huisje was van alle gemakken voorzien en er lag ook een welkomspakket. Een echt Engelse cottage.
Enjoyed a very relaxing week at Moorview Barn Cottage. Ideal for 4 adults (2 elderly parents) so having bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs was ideal, not to mention a TV in every room. Cosy and spacious with a perfectly safe garden for our two dogs, also great set up for outdoor eating and BBQ’s… weather permitting! Kitchen well equipped with necessary items not always supplied in other places, only thing missing was a couple of smaller size oven/baking trays, which could be added. Also a lovely welcome tray of goodies! Robin Hood pub just down the road great for Sunday roast and delicious fish & chips at Bakewell, and close to Chatsworth House and gardens, well worth a visit. Lovely little gift shop and tearoom called The Eating House just through Baslow. Sarah is a very helpful host, we met her two dogs Maisie & Molly (the latter loves to knock at your door and pinch a treat or two… she’s a little hoot)!
The cottage was very comfortable and very clean with everything we needed for our break away. Plenty of room for the four of us and it does accommodate six. Comfy beds and a cosy log burner. Washing machine and dishwasher was a huge bonus. Loved the goodies left for us. Lovely views across the beautiful countryside and a short drive - or walk to wherever. Would definitely recommend this place and will stay again. Thank you

Lovely property very comfortable. However we struggled to control the heating downstairs so the middle bedroom was cool enough and the end bedroom warm enough.
The facilities in the barn were really helpful and the owners dogs very friendly.

Beautiful place with everything you could need. Everything is quality. lovely view from the back
Great location for Chatsworth and the surrounding countryside. Baslow has lots of great places to eat out. The views from the cottage are lovely. The only downside is the busy road. The cottage itself is perfect with quality furnishings and decor. The garden is enclosed and suitable for dogs with lovely garden furniture and a barbecue.

Very comfortable property well placed for visiting local attractions
The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a well appointed kitchen, good wifi connections and everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The house was warm and cosy despite very cold mornings .
It was well situated for visiting local countryside as well as attractions such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Keddleston Hall, etc. Also great countryside particularly Curbar Edge and the River Dove
There was a good area of grass to walk the dog by the house but for longer walk there is an ideal one behind the Robin Hood Inn about a mile away. The road by the house is not really suitable for walking the dog and the gate should be kept shut as cars drive by quite fast
A great place to have breakfast or afternoon tea is the Chatsworth farm shop café and we had an excellent evening meal at Rowleys in Baslow

Pleasant week walking in the Peaks. Lovely property
Lovely property with a view of the moor. Inside decoration and facilities are very good. Very clean and comfortable 3 double bedrooms so can accommodate 6 easily in the bedrooms. The sitting room is a little small for 6 but has a lovely homely feel. Very good facilities for dogs with stone floors downstairs and a kennel outside.
Well situated for different areas of the Peaks and there are some very good foodie pubs within a short drive. The road outside is not suitable for walking dogs safely and the is some road noise from the busy ‘A’ below the property but this did not spoil our stay and we’d would definitely go back again.

Gorgeous cottage in perfect settings
Arrived to the gorgeous cottage, little selection of drinks and snacks left for us. Lovely views of the hills. Cottage was very comfortable for our family of 5 adults one baby and two dogs. There’s some lovely villages, pubs and walks in the immediate area also. Have already discussed us all visiting again.

Great accommodation in a lovely location
Lovely house with far reaching views over the moors. We were blessed with good weather which made us really appreciate the garden and outside space. The house was very clean, tidy and well presented and it was in a great location for visiting Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Matlock, along with all the other delights that Derbyshire has to offer.
I've given it 4 stars as the fridge in the kitchen was very small considering the house could hold up to 8 people and we struggled for space and the sofa bed was uncomfortable to sit on and could possibly do with a bit of a revamp.
Also we couldn't get the tumble dryer to dry our towels but this could have been used error!
The owner's dogs came to visit us most days which, as a dog loving family, we didn't mind but I'm not sure if this would be a negative if you didn't like dogs!
All in all though, a lovely cottage which I would recommend to families.

What makes this property unique
The barn is ideally located on the edge of the Peak District National Park and very close to Chatsworth House. An outdoor, covered, bbq and fire pit area makes it an ideal place to stay all year round.
