About this property

OB Watrfront 4+ BR. Quiet/Walk to Town. Beachy, classic, great ocean/pond views.

Best of everything: We are located on the back side of Farm Pond, which overlooks Harthaven, Nantucket Sound, and Chappaquiddick beyond. Window air-conditioners in each room. House is quiet and private, but an easy walk to playgrounds, town, beach, fishing, shopping, bowling, bike paths. OB Arts district is nearby, as is a deli/ wine store, and great soul food restaurant.

Head out the door to bike paths and hiking trails, or paddle to great fishing across the pond.

Huge wrap-around porch/deck, big yard, hammock, use of canoe/kayak (row across the pond to the beach and a great fishing spot). Four bedrooms, all with water views, great mattresses and bedding, high cathedral ceilings. Nice napping spot in downstairs double daybed cubby; basement playroom is rustic but has painted floors and walls and enclosed ceiling with a pullout queen bed and dance floor/lights. Great place for teenagers to hang out.

House is a beachy cottage with painted wood floors, beaded board walls and ceiling rafters but also has all modern conveniences: w/d, kitchen with brand new KitchenAid gas range and lots of counter space. Two full baths plus huge outdoor shower. Nice big laundry/mud room for storing stuff out of the way.

We loved our two week stay at this beautiful house right on Farm Pond. The location was perfect in that it’s walking distance to Oak Bluffs and the beach. The view from the porch was wonderful and we were out there mornings and evenings! It’s a double campground house with stairs and eaves, one bath upstairs with the four bedrooms and one bath down. The house was very clean and the host, Jamie was very responsive and friendly.

Nicely appointed home with great living room and amazing wrap around porch with beautiful views to unwind and connect with family. Convenient location near downtown Oak Bluffs with quick access to bike paths. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful for children to play and has a fun hiking trail. The host is very accessible and helpful. Our family loved our stay!

The location for the price point was amazing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The view was to die for and we loved the porch. Jamie was attentive and helped to answer all of my questions. The downstairs bathroom needed some updates as well as the bedrooms, but otherwise, my first time in OB was a breeze thanks to our stay!

Fabulous location, appreciated the VIP treatment. Beds were a bit lumpy and downstairs tub a bit hard to get in and out of if you aren’t young and agile. We had a wonderful time!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic home in Oak Buffs. So close to town and beaches, everything is walk-able. The view off the deck is amazing! We bought a hummingbird feeder to hang next to the bird feeder. If we weren’t enjoying the gorgeous water views, we were enjoying bird watching!! The view from the upstairs “master” bedroom is stunning. The house is very comfortable and “homey”. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen is fully stocked with high quality cookware. There are a lot of steps between rooms. If you are mobility challenged it could be an issue. We stayed for 2 weeks and absolutely loved our time here. We were sad to leave. We hope to be back again in the future!

Eclectic place in a great location

This place was very clean and within walking distance to all the restaurants in Oak Bluffs. The pond is excellent for kayaking on. Modern appliances including washer/dryer and a very responsive host.

Farm House delight

We were so happy with the location in OB and the view from that porch was just mesmerizing, I think we could have just sat right there the entire time and been happy. The nooks and crannies of the house...so incredible. We definitely would stay again.

Heavenly porch

Never really thought about staying in OB because it’s such in the thick of things, but I have never been more relaxed on the Vineyard. The owner was attentive and responsive. The property is quite wonderful and peaceful. We will be back!

The perfect spot!

We had an amazing stay at this lovely beach house in Oak Bluffs. The location was absolutely perfect – just a short walk to the beach, the town, and a fantastic playground for the kids. The house itself was incredibly comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The beautiful porch was definitely a highlight, offering a great spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful view of the pond. Jamie was wonderful – flexible, accommodating, generous and beyond helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and highly recommend this property! We'll definitely be back!

Serene, beautiful and close to everything

We had a truly wonderful stay in Oak Bluffs. The house is an easy walk to all that Oak Bluffs has to offer, but feels a world away because of its peaceful location over looking the pond. Also a very short drive to Edgartown. The house is beautifully decorated and cared for. It is also equipped with everything. We did quite a bit of cooking. There was everything we needed in terms of equipment, basic ingredients and there was even a really good selection of cook books. Jamie was very easy to get in touch with and was extremely responsive with tips about the area. We loved our stay and plan to come back!

Unique home with nice porch

This is a unique home In a very pretty spot. Sitting on the porch with a view of the pond and ocean beyond is a high point. I would not recommend going here with infants or young children given many stairs and dank basement The host was extremely responsive.

A great girls' trip and a great host!

My sisters and I recently stayed at this house. It provided great accommodations. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine on the porch, while taking in the beautiful view, birds, and weather. We could walk to town. What made this visit even more special was the friendly and informative host. She provided so much information on the history and operations of the house and places to visit and eat. We felt like we had a personal concierge. She was quick to respond to questions. It was one of my better rental experiences!

MV Oak Bluffs cottage

located on pond with the ocean just beyond the pond. The location was absolutely perfect. We easily walked to inkwell Beach. The wrap around porch was so relaxing. The house itself had a lot of charm & character. My suggestion would be to to upgrade the bed linens. I had wished the beach chairs were better quality and more of them. We had 6 people in our party and there was only 2 beach chairs that we could use. The cushions & porch furniture need an upgrade as well. Overall a cute place to spend the weekend on the Vineyard. .

Dirty, damp, and dangerous

Our stay on Martha’s Vineyard was a family get-away to celebrate my husband’s retirement. Extremely disappointed! The property is advertised as a large home with occupancy for up to 10 people. False! Only two rooms had air conditioning and mattressed beds. Other two tiny bedrooms had stained futon pads as beds. The unfinished basement was included as a bedroom but the mattress pad was on the damp cement floor surrounded by boxes, cobwebs and debris. It was evident that the house had not been deep cleaned in a very long time as layers of dust covered lampshades, curtains, and the multitude of Knick knacks. There were numerous areas of disrepair: windows didn’t close and had holes, doorknobs fell off, tv remotes needed batteries, window shades and furniture cushions were stained, torn, and frayed. The most disturbing of all was at the end of our trip, we had a smoke detector alarm go off. We notified the owner of this fact at once. Looking around the house, we saw that ALL the smoke detectors had been disconnected! I paid a lot for this vacation celebration and realized it could have been a tragedy. Do not stay here. The pictures do not reveal the true nature of this home. Although the view from the porch is true to the pictures, the rest of the home and it’s furnishings needs to be cleaned out and started from scratch. It is evident the owner has not been in the home in a very long time and is using this property to cash in on the Vineyard tourist trade. I feel as if my family was put in harms way and I was duped by this property owner and VRBO. I don’t understand why there are no other reviews that reveal this home’s true appearance and lack of upkeep.

Absolutely lovely spot on Farm Pond. Easy walk to the beach. House has lots of character, beautiful furnishings, and Jamie was a great host. Very peaceful and lovely at the house but easy walk to town. Loved it!

Lovely spot!

Really an idyllic location with a wonderful porch, plenty of room and features and the perfect island vibe! Not a new house but exactly what you want for a quiet vacation with time to think, relax and wander. Close to the action but not IN it. Highly recommend.

Amazing view!

Sitting on the front porch with coffee and watching the pond is pretty incredible. The location is perfect-- quiet but close enough to town for kids to walk to arcade. Jamie is an incredible host and very responsive. The house is an older cottage-- lots of space for everyone but expect smaller bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the living room was very comfortable for watching a movie with the family.

Storybook house and setting

Two favorites: savouring constant breezes on front porch overlooking two bodies of water, and lying in master bed in treehouse-like setting watching the motion of leaves outside the screened door. Heavenly.

Oak Bluffs Memorial Day weekend.

We had terrible weather and a great time. It was great walking around Oak Bluffs and just being out and the house provided great views of the pond and ocean. It was also close enough to town that we could walk in easily, but far enough away that when we were there, we had a lot of privacy.

Beautiful Views

The home has beautiful views and lots of character. Our kids deemed it a Harry Potter house with the trap door in one room. Taking outdoor showers was a delight. Listing was accurate and the host was responsive for any questions. Location was close enough to downtown Oakbluffs to walk but far enough to not hear nightlife. Would definitely recommend!

Love this spot!

This is quintessential OB! The location is incredible with sea breezes on the shady front porch. The beds are comfy and the outdoor shower is great. Jamie - the landlord is incredible to work with and truly cares about your stay.

I brought my children up in this house. I am the director of publications at Bluedot Living, a company devoted to sustainable living. I think Farm Pond is one of the best places in the whole world. People tell us they've never slept better than they do in our house.

Why they chose this property

It's rare in that it is close to town, but feels remote. We bought it for the amazing views, the walk to school and town, the nice neighbors and the quirky historical character.

What makes this property unique

Sitting on the big wide front stairs with coffee in the morning (or a drink in the evening), 25 feet from the water, watching the birds, the otters, being able to row across the pond to go fishing. Being far enough from town that it's quiet all the time, but close enough to walk in for anything- breakfast, or library, or groceries, or dinner out, a movie, or a warm donut from backdoor donuts late at night. Lying in the 'daybed' nook, surrounded by books, with a fire going in the fireplace, staring out at the water, while someone else makes dinner in the kitchen, which is open to all the rooms downstairs. Riding our bikes out the door to miles of bike paths.
