Family meet up in Northern Portugal

This property worked perfect for us. Room to spare for 6 adults and 2 pre-teens. Nice central location for access to beaches and Barcelos, Braga and nearby towns. Celia was very helpful with information and greeted us on arrival. We would definitely recommend!

Beautiful house to relax in.

This lovely house sits in a very peaceful setting in the countryside about an hour north of Porto. There were 7 adults in our party and at no time did the house feel cramped. Whether it's relaxing in the hammocks or by the pool it's a great place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing. Would highly recommend this house

Beautiful

We had a wonderful holiday at this property. The grounds include a forest / stream and bridge. the house is huge and the play area downstairs is vast. We enjoyed our stay and relaxed by a lovely pool and on the vast patio area. The local town (Barcelos) has one of the largest and most interesting weekly markets in Europe. We can't recommend the property enough.

Relaxing haven

We were greeted on arrival by the owner and made to feel very welcome, with a tour of the house and food essentials left in the fridge. There was a lot of thought put into the age range of children we had with us - high chair, hooded towels, suitable plate, cup and utensils. All very much appreciated . We were also grateful for the local maps, guide leaflets and local knowledge of what was on in the area during our stay. The house itself was delightful, spacious, airy and very well equipped. The pool and bbq all got plenty of use and were loved by all. The garden and land was a bonus with a safe environment for the children to explore provided they were watched from a distance as there was a stream and fish pool.

Beautiful, relaxing get-away

Our stay at this villa was wonderful. The property itself was great - very large with well equipped rooms, tastefully decorated. There are just 4 of us (2 adults 2 children) but I think it would be fine to have two families here - it really is huge. As long as you keep the shutters closed in the hot part of the day, the rooms stay nicely cool for sleeping at night (even in 35C+ heat). For kid’s entertainment, there is everything you need - table tennis, table football, two large TVs and a playhouse for younger children. The pool was gorgeous - a good size and depth, in a lovely garden setting - with some sun and some shade. We spent a lot of time relaxing there. The villa is set on a wooded hillside so is beautifully peaceful - there are some other houses nearby but it feels very secluded. We spend 2 weeks here and did not get bored at all - there are plenty of nearby day-trips to do including beaches, kayaking/paddle boarding on rivers plus Barcelos, Braga and Porto only 30-45 mins away. I would say you do need a car for this location if you want to see some of the local area - there is not really much within walking distance. Célia was a wonderful host - very helpful and on hand to answer questions but not at all intrusive. Our family had a fantastic holiday here, and we really did not want to leave!

Villa d’exception avec prestations de haute qualité

Nous avons passe une super semaine dans cette splendide maison très spacieuse et tres bien équipée. Les chambres sont toutes tres grandes et bien équipées, la literie confortable, les pièces de vie extrêmement chaleureuses. La maison est construite et décorée avec beaucoup de finesse et de goût. Le jardin de plus d’un hectare est un vrai parc privatif. La piscine est grande et très belle. Quand à l’accueil, nous avons été tres bien reçus par Celia, très bienveillante et particulièrement courtoise. Merci a elle. Je ne peux que recommander ce lieu pour de très belles vacances en famille et avec des amis.

Es una casa enorme, preciosa, limpia y muy bien equipada. Hay muchos espacios diferentes donde poder disfrutar y descansar, tanto en el exterior como en el interior. La piscina es fantástica. La cocina muy completa, no faltaba ni un detalle. Habitaciones muy amplias, las camadas muy cómodas, por poner alguna pega yo añadiría alguna toalla de aseo más para poder cambiarlas y pondría almohadas más duras (pero eso es muy personal), las toallas de playa son estupendas. Hay futbolin, mesa de ping pong, millones de libros... cuesta salir de ella, aunque cerca hay lugares preciosos para visitar. Gracias Celia por tu hospitalidad y nos encantaron los detalles de bienvenida, tienes una casa preciosa. 100% recomendable.

Grande y bonita

Es una casa espaciosa y cuidada al detalle. Los niños pasaron largos ratos en la piscina y jugando al futbolin y ping pong. El pueblo está un poco alejado, pero en el mismo pueblo hay un supermercado en el que se pueden hacer compras (no hay productos frescos como carne y pescado); para compras grandes, hay más supermercados a unos 14km. La dueña muy amable y pendiente de nuestras necesidades. Estancia recomendable.

Fantástica estadia de Agosto

Se algum dia eu tinha imaginado uma boa estadia de Verão para a minha família, sem dúvida que esta casa superou a nossas expectativas. De facto, as fotografias estão abaixo da realidade, a casa é muito mais bonita. A Dona Célia à entrada foi muito simpática e fez-nos sentir à vontade, como se a casa fosse nossa. Os pormenores da casa são enriquecedores. A casa está muito bem equipada para todas as necessidades que uma família possa ter para uma semana de férias. Foi-nos disponibilizado todo um equipamento diversificado para ocupar os tempos lúdicos. A internet é muito boa. A casa e o espaço envolvente fizeram-nos sentir tão bem que nem sentimos necessidade de sair da propriedade. Estávamos com algum receio em relação à higiene pelo Covid19, mas quando chegámos à casa, esta estava impecavelmente limpa e higienizada. A vista da piscina e o jardim são fantásticos, assim como a piscina em si. O único ponto negativo foi termos saído no dia programado. Obrigada Dona Célia! Foi tudo muito bom!

Tranquil,Beautiful - Much Nicer than the Photos -

What a wonderful home - completely understated by the pictures. Calm, relaxing , well apointed - wonderful 'indoor/outdoor flow' with most bedrooms and bathrooms and the lounge areas all have direct access to the lovely open gardens via big 'french style' patio doors Great base to explore the local area, we went to esposende and ofir/apulia twice to the beaches (lovely and clean/safe) and it only toom 25 minutes Walking distance to basic but good quality local restaurants with homemade food and a couple of cafes with nice pastries/bread But most of the time we sat by the lovely pool and explored the huge gardens and meadow area - the kids loved it playing 'hide and seek' We are seriously thinking about comeing back next year

Great House - Great Location -Better than expected

We were recommended by a friend to go here, but we would have probably hesitated as the pictures don’t do the place justice. The house is ‘up the street’ from a small local community - very quaint and friendly, and semi-rural. But we needn’t have worried anout beinb isolated because on the days we were not being lazy by the pool or wandering around the gardens and the land, we did 3 very easy day trips. Esposende and the super atlantic coast (amazing beaches - although was a little fresh in april) was only 25 minutes away - we also went to Braga for the day (superb place go to Bom Jesus and Sameiro) and finally we went to Porto (it took a little longer at 50 mins) The house is actually huge - the downstairs space is vast! One huge room with an office desk area - a kids play house in the corner and a large lounge. We were able to go for fresh cakes and bread every day or to have a coffee. Theres a couple of local eateries nearby - simple honest and cheap menu - well cooked by 2 old ladies and big portions (make sure you share a portion) All in all a very nice holiday and a lovely part of portugal to visit. We normally go the algarve but its overpriced and the quality has suffered. So we will definitely be back to the North Ted B Extended Family - grandparents and 3 kids - 3, 7,11
