Good price, value not so much.
Overall the fabulous weather, use of kayaks and location made this a nice vacation for us. The home has a more lived in feel than a rental. There are lots of videos, games, toys and puzzles to the point of feeling cluttered. I had forgotten how buggy it can be at this time of year, late June and early July. The screened in porch was very much appreciated. It wasn't until we arrived at the the cottage that we read the guest book guide about our responsibility to clean the cottage. I didn't think it was clearly explained on the website or lease agreement.
Great Fishing Trip
Great house for a fishing trip. House was clean and convenient to many boat ramps. Anne is very friendly and responsive. Had a great trip and the fish were biting.
Wonderful owner, house and location!
Our family of seven, with ages ranging from 59 to 5, spent a delightful week at Anne's lovely, comfortable home. We felt immediately welcomed when we talked into the kitchen to find her note and a delicious apple pie! Having such direct access to the water and our own beach was enjoyed by all and of course the kids thought climbing on the beautiful rocks was awesome (I have to admit I did too, being a long-time rock scrambler myself). If we get the chance to vacation in this region again, we will definitely want to stay in Alburgh, which provides easy access to all the interesting things to do on the islands, but let us retreat to a peaceful environment and home when we just wanted to drink in the beauty of the lake and mountain views. Thank you so much for sharing your home Anne! The McKerrow/Gardners
relatively spacious, well stocked , and best of all right on Lake Champlain. We had a hot 3 days.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Through no fault of the owner we had 3 very hot days with no air conditioning making it difficult to sleep. Air conditioners may become necessary in the future. Being right on Lake Champlain is a real plus particularly with children. Kayak jaunts were an everyday delight. Alburgh is an hour from Montreal and not far from Burlington and make wonderful day trips. St. Albans, 25 minutes away is quaint with fun shopping. The House was well stocked with necessities and the huge apple pie was a treat. Alburgh itself has little to offer which is too bad. Isle La Motte is great bicycling- in fact the area is good for it. Remember to carry your passport and you can cycle right into Canada. Our family of 8 enjoyed our time there.
Excellent location. Close to activities. Responsive owner.
Fantastic experience, with a great location. Kayaks, lawn games, board games, movies plentiful. The property offers all we needed as a family.
Above and beyond!!!
Ok, the house is great as everyone else says. The location is peaceful and beautiful. Now for the owner...
I forgot something of great sentimental value that a dying relative made at the house. Anne couldn't find it when I contacted her. 6 months later I get an email that it turned up. Anne 1) noticed it, 2) remembered my concern, 3) dug up my email, and 4) mailed it to me. THANKS ANNE!!! (I wish you could give extra credit stars.)
Conveniently located one hour from either Montreal and Burlington, VT. Close to historic forts, Park Safari Zoo, natural and scenic wonders, shopping centers, golf courses, restaurants, and bike trails. A great place for cross country skiing, windsurfing, bicycling, kayaking, fishing or just enjoying the water, peace and quiet. In the winter, cross country skiing and ice fishing are fun.
