A beautiful cottage in a perfect location

The cottage was just as described, if not better. Good layout with a well equipped kitchen. The TV is huge and great for a movie night after a day of exploring the local area. The location on the Saltmoore estate is perfect, very peaceful. We visited the beach house, this was a good halfway point when walking through the estate to stop for a drink on the way to the cottage. We ate at the hotel one evening. It is a short walk into Sandsend, I’d recommend the cafe on the seafront for breakfast/lunch. There is a bus stop right outside the estate with a bus every half hour to and from Whitby that takes less than 10 minutes. You can leave your car in the car park when you arrive and not need it for the duration of your stay if you want to.

Stay at Rambling Rose cottage on the Saltmore Estate Sandsend

Cottage was clean and comfortable everything we needed was there. Decor was beautiful and calming the Japanese bath was lovely. Hotel and spa a minute walk away lovely but on the expensive side. Cottage’s downside parking to drop off luggage was difficult very tight spaces. The boiler in the downstairs bedroom seemed to be on all the time despite turning both thermostats down to 10 degrees AND turning every radiator off, made it very noisy and hot in the bedroom hard to sleep a few times- glad we went in April and not summer. But these were minor and we really enjoyed our stay overall

Lovely Rambling Rose

This is the third time we have stayed in this cottage and love everything about it. Great location, well equipped and comfortable. The only negative thing to say this time is that the Japenese bath doesn't leave much room in the upstairs bathroom and there was also quite a lot of cobwebs throughout.

Amazing cottage in beautiful location. Everything you need , fully equipped. Plenty of space even for 4 people . Love the Japanese bath . Attention to detail is second to none. Can’t wait to go again .

Fabulous cottage

Probably the most well equipped cottage we've ever stayed in. Everything was supplied, including some starter toiletries and a lovely welcome hamper. Rambling Rose is pretty much perfect... but oh my, the sofa is really uncomfortable!

Perfect Rambling Rose

Definitely the most well equipped cottage that we have ever stayed in. Everything was supplied and the lovely starter hamper was a really nice touch. The only negative thing to say about this cottage is that the step out of the lounge onto the patio is very high, but everything else was great.

Rambling Rose Sandsend

We had a fabulous week away in the lovely cottage, it was just like home from home. There was everything there which you needed, spotlessly clean, gorgeous white cotton bedding ,very comfy beds & lovely soft white towels. We were even able to watch Wimbledon in bed after plenty of sea air! The communication between Molly at Stays was brilliant so helpful & made sure our stay was perfect. Thank you! Looking forward to returning soon!

6/10 Okay

Bad instructions which are out of date - difficult to find

once we found the property it was nice, but the instructions sent beforehand were incorrect and so it took a while to find it. The house was small but fine for a few nights. the upstairs bathroom had a good shower in it but a weird bath in the middle of the room that you could only sit in but it took up so much space it was hard to move around the room. the bath would probably be fun for young kids but not for grown adults! the upstairs room with two beds pushed together were at different levels so not comfortable. the instructions for using the tv were scribbled all over as they were also previously incorrect and a previous guest had obviously decided to correct them but they still werent easy to follow. one of the reasons we booked the house was because it said it had parking but in fact you cannot park outside the house

Great Stay

Very well-located and clean cottage with all modern conveniences. The welcome pack is a nice touch. Needs a bit of TLC to fix small things. Seems there used to be blackout curtains in the downstairs bedroom, but had been removed while bracket markings still visible. rather annoying that the TV's do not work as they should with channel info. Some damage on the wall by the door needs repair. A sun umbrella on the patio would be nice to sit outside. Might also be nice to have some fold-up beach chairs available for guest use.

Thank you very much for taking the time to send your feedback. The issue that you have raised are now all being addressed. Hopefully everything will be completed by the 12th August. We hope that this will then be an opportunity for a further visit. Best wishes Stays York.

Rambling Rose

We have stayed in this group of cottages 4 times now. All the cottages are super. We chose Rambling Rose for the downstairs bedroom as my husband has some mobility issues. There were s stair to the bedroom & 4 stairs up to the lounge. There is no designated parking at the cottage but we parked on the road outside which didn’t cause any problems. We did manage, but because of this we would not choose this cottage again as it didn’t really meet our needs. However, the cottage was lovely & we enjoyed our stay. We asked for a slightly later check out as my husband struggles on a morning & this was accommodated which was really helpful for us. We will be back but not this cottage due to the stairs. I would definitely recommend.

Superbly (newly) furnished cottage in excellent location - five stars!

A recent refurbishment and refurnish has made Rambling Rose a super-stylish yet very comfortable place to stay. All furnishings and furniture, decoration seem new, including bath, shower and bedrooms. Extremely well equipped kitchen (including posh coffee maker!), lovely soft sheets and bedding in bedrooms make for a good night's sleep. The location is fabulous - surrounded by the gorgeous features of the Raithwaite Estate, there is an easy footpath or quick drive to the popular Sandsend with great places to eat. We will be back!

Cottage in a great location

This is a great cottage, very comfortable in a brilliant location. I would give it 4 out of 5. It would be 5 out of 5 if the kitchen was a little better equipped as there are not many dishes available if you want to self-cater, and if the internal lights that have failed were fixed.

Lovely location

Well appointed and comfortable holiday home, everything you need is provided and lovely welcome hamper. Great for coastal walks and access to Sandsend. Nice to be able to use the hotel spa (although small charge applicable, which given the price of the property, could be included). Good information and instructions provided, all contact free. Well thought out process.
