Tranquil, Scenic Farm View Guest House in the Heart of Lancaster Amish Country
We would love to have you come and enjoy our home built off our family farm. We are in the heart of Amish country, making our house a perfect location for families visiting Lancaster County. With Country Housewares (locally called Amish Walmart) 200 ft down the road, the traffic on our back road consists of more buggies than cars. The quiet, peaceful setting will facilitate a relaxing stay. From our front lawn, we have a beautiful view overlooking our Amish neighbor's chicken and produce farm. We are only minutes from the popular Lancaster towns of Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse.
Our house includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Our large upstairs kitchen, with the small basement kitchen, provides place to accommodate a larger family or group. Our full size basement is a great place for family games, quilting bees, scrap-booking, etc.
With our parent's cornfield behind the house, our backyard is a quiet place to enjoy the night sky or sit around a small campfire.
Local produce, fresh eggs, and bake goods can be purchased a mile down the road at our Amish neighbor's roadside stand. Also, children will love Hayloft Ice Cream's play area and home-made ice cream which is around the corner from our house. Country Housewares is an Amish-owned variety store, or "Amish Walmart", and is within walking distance from our house and is a "must visit" for all guests who would like to experience Amish culture!

House was comfortable and inviting. It was perfect for our extended family. Hosts left homemade bread for us. It was a great touch! Location was perfect, too! Close to everything we needed.
Great spot!! Location was perfect for getting to many Lancaster attractions, spacious for our group including little ones and babies, kitchen had everything you could need, and the plus was the freshly baked bread left for us! Would definitely recommend!
We have had several stays at this property and just love everything about it. The location is perfect. Property and surrounding properties are beautiful. Mrs. Lapp is wonderful to work with. We will be back!
Us high school girlfriends have been coming to this house for a few years, so close to everything, we are all farm girls and love the area. And house is just perfect for us
It's the second time we've stayed at this property and both stays were great! Excellent location, clean and roomy house, and Excellent communication with hosts.
The entire property was fantastic, from the location, to cleanliness, to amenities and property owners. We all had a fantastic vacation in the beautiful home.
This is a fabulous property!! Clean, well stocked (especially spices), with a wonderful view. Chris and Shannon left us a loaf of bread from their bakery that we all enjoyed very much. Plenty of room for a large family with a wonderful back yard. Close to all the local activities and attractions but you feel like you are far from the bustle. Check in was seamless and the host touched base with us by message several times just to be sure everything was fine, and it was perfect! Would definitely stay here again!!
Excellent property, don’t hesitate to book this one! Spacious, very clean, located on a quiet country road but within minutes to all the shops and restaurants.
We had an amazing time absolutely loved the property location, and surroundings. The owners are very hospitable…One thing to suggest is that the basement smelt a little musty, (moldy) especially the back bedroom and the freezer in the basement had mold in it. Which we know are common every day ordinary circumstances it is no bad reflection on the owner or this property because it is absolutely beautiful
This property is gorgeous and perfect for a large family or group looking for a relaxing stay in PA Amish country. The location was convenient to area attractions and the house was beautifully decorated and well maintained. Our family is looking at future bookings to return to the area.

About the host
Hosted by Chris & Shannon Lapp
Shannon and I were born and raised in Lancaster County. I was raised on the 8th generation family farm that borders our house. As for Shannon, all her growing up years were spent on her parent's chicken farm only five miles down the road. So as high-school sweethearts, Lancaster County was all we ever knew until 2016 when God led us to teach at a Bible College in southern Indiana. Now with our seven children, we spend the school term in Indiana and come back "home" to Lancaster for the summer months. So when we're gone, our house is open for others to enjoy!!!
Why they chose this property
My grandparents built the house off the family farm as their retirement property. In the 90's, my older brother bought the house from our grandparents. Then in 2004, when my brother moved on the family farm, we had the opportunity to buy the home. So with the cornfield as our back property line, I never really moved off the farm. Being surrounded by both of our families, the picturesque setting, and the peaceful Lancaster county culture, there's no place we'd rather live. So because we've been so blessed, we'd be delighted to have you experience the setting we've been privileged to call home.
What makes this property unique
We'd love to have you stay at our home!!! With farmland in front and behind us, you'll love the peace and quiet. The great view from our front yard of the neighbor's produce farm will take you back it time. The idyllic setting is hard to beat and will make for a relaxing vacation!!!
Bring your quilting, sewing, or scrapbooking group and spread out in our spacious basement. Be sure to visit our quilt/fabric (Family Farm Quilts 3511 West Newport Rd. Ronks, PA 1757) shop just 5 minutes away in the town of Intercourse.
With the popular Amish towns of Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand only a few minutes away, our home is perfectly located for easy access to all the tourist attractions. Because Dutch Wonderland, Cherry Crest Farm, and Sight and Sound are so close by, our home is a great place to stay for a family vacation. With seven children of our own, our house is kid-friendly and perfect for a family of any size.
So bring your family, experience real Lancaster county among the Amish, de-stress from the busy pace of life, and make family memories that will last forever!!!!
