Rose Cottage is the former gardener's cottage for Spital Estate House. It is an attractive two storey cottage set within its own garden in a very peaceful and rural location in the Scottish Borders. There is an abundance of wildlife just outside the front door of the cottage and guests can expect to see deer, badgers, squirrels and several breeds of birds.

It’s our second visit to this host. Last year we stayed in the Stable cottage, this year we stayed in Rose Cottage. The entire estate is beautiful and peaceful, the grounds are immaculate. Rose cottage is so pretty. Inside is well equipped and comfortable. There’s an abundance of wildlife around, we’ve seen geese, rabbits, hares, squirrels, deer etc. We will definitely be back next year.

Excellent countryside location, 5 minutes drive to A1, 10 minutes to Berwick. Gorgeous cottage & throughout the decor has the theme of roses is reflected. In the garden, with lovely seating area. Ground floor the Spacious bedroom, changing room & en-suite bathroom with separate bath & large shower. Upstairs another spacious twin bedroom & bathroom. Considerate selection of guest amenities, electric blanket & bedding/ towels. A very large/cosy lounge dining area & kitchen. The hosts have excelled in the kitchen, all equipment you will need, with surprising “coffee pods” what a delicious way to start your beautiful nature morning. A lovely guest touch, Northumbria Parking Disc Permits. Warm in person touch by hosts, checking we were all ok after arrival. As a retired hotelier, I was thrilled to see hospitality alive & excelling in Northumbria.

We had a wonderful stay at Rose cottage, beautiful cottage , welcome basket was lovely . Everything was provided, cosy with comfy beds. Lovely, quiet location, great base for exploring Northumberland and Scottish Borders Will definitely return.

Lovely cottage, was expecting something quite basic but it was very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Garden is beautiful, very peaceful setting. We had a wonderful time.

Absolutely would come again. Charming, beautiful, quiet, clean, fully equipped. Host was helpful when directions on listing weren’t quite clear…don’t follow the pin! :) Beds could be more comfortable but didn’t take away from our stay.

This is ur fhird stay in this quintessential cottage. It feels like home from the moment you come up the drive. Additionally, it is an escape to the country but allows for easy accessibility to the seaside and services. We will be back.

Fantastic cottage in beautiful quiet rural location

Extremely comfortable and well furnished and equiped cottage in grounds of large private house. Surrounded by greenery and wildlife including hares and deer. Just 10 minutes drive from beautiful walks along River Tweed or Berwick town centre. Great place to relax. Friendly owner readily available but no problems

Best Chillout Family Time!

Immaculate cottage and welcome pack was a treat. We previously stayed in Stable Cottage in July 22 which was also immaculate. You have everything you need here, even wildlife on your doorstep. So peaceful and relaxing but shops and visitor attractions only a short distance away. Lots to see and do. Our 7 year old granddaughter loved seeing the horses and can't wait to come back. Thanks again to all who made this a fab break. X
