Fantastic property in a lovely rural location close to many amenities and tourist attractions. The accomodation was excellent for a family of four with a well equipped kitchen and plenty room to chill in. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
We loved the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was very appreciated. Karl and Emma were excellent hosts and we shall definitely stay there again.
Appletress is a beautiful cottage. It is spotless and well equipped with everything you would need plus lots of extra touches. Karl and Emma have thought of everything to make sure their guests have a great stay and are wonderful hosts. We had a lovely break, thank you both.
The house was everything we had hoped for and even nicer than we had expected from the pictures. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The garden was ideal for children to play in safely and the view was lovely. Karl and Emma were very friendly and accomodating, especially around our requirements for twin toddlers (even moving a bed so we had space for two travel cots and providing an extra high chair). The location was ideal, very peaceful but with lots to see and do in the area.
This is one of the best properties we've stayed in.... perfectly clean, beautiful area, super helpful hosts and amazing welcome pack! Would highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The house was immaculate and all fixtures and fittings were high quality. The welcome pack was excellent and very thoughtful.Karl was very helpful and went the extra mile to help us have a lovely stay. The cottage is centrally located to allow full exploration of Northumberland and easy train access to Edinburgh from Berwick. The local vicinity was also excellent for evening walks with lots of wildlife to spot.
We all had a really enjoyable stay at Appletrees. The cottage was easy to find and very well located for exploring the area. The welcome hamper of food and drink was the best we've ever had and although the owners are on hand if you need anything, the cottage felt very private. We hope to visit again in the future.
Very impressive accommodation, immaculately prepared and great location as base for touring in the area. Nearby Black Bull inn excellent off-site food. Well stocked local shop.
An excellent rental. Everything provided by friendly helpful owners. A lovely place to hang around with lovely quiet roads for cycling. A good base, not far from the coast with a village shop close by for essentials.
Hope to visit again.
Lovely cottage- well equipped, clean and comfortable. Fantastic welcome pack - best we have ever seen. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Location is great - not too far to travel to coast and surrounding towns. A lovely break
restful and quiet.
From the moment we arrived our stay in Appletrees was a total delight, with beautiful peaceful surroundings, exceptionally high quality accommodation and the warmth and generosity of our hosts. An absolute treat.
We've just returned from our second wonderful stay at Appletrees, and it's safe to say it lived up to our expectations once again.
The owners have put much thought into creating a welcoming and comfortable space. We particularly appreciated the little touches that made our stay extra special.
If you're looking for a delightful holiday cottage in Northumberland, we wholeheartedly recommend Appletrees. It's the ideal place to unwind and recharge, and we can't wait to return for a third visit!
The property is definitely a 5 star. My family and I really enjoyed our trip to the area and the cottage really made it one to remember. Our 3 year old old was well catered for, there has clearly been a lot of thought and effort gone into making our stay as comfortable and hassle free as possible. I really cannot find fault. We would definitely return, if for the welcome pack alone!
Thankyou
Amazing Cottage, beautiful views, well equipped. Just perfect!
This cottage is perfectly designed and in a stunning central location with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. It is beautifully furnished, warm and cosy with a very well equipped kitchen...all immaculately clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visited Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Seahouses (trip to Farne Islands) and Edinburgh (1 hour away) as well as all the beaches for fantastic walks.
Thank you so much Karl & Emma for making us so welcome and we will definitely be returning to stay with you again.xx
What a find, what a welcome - we had a fantastic stay at Apple trees. The place is in a great location, just outside Lowick which is well situated for the Northumbrian coast and the national park. It's a great size for a family of 4, with everything you need for a getaway to this fabulous part of the world. Very luxurious stay, There aren't many better equipped places out there.
Karl is a fantastic host, checking to make sure we had all the info we needed and that all was well with the property.
The welcome pack as has been mentioned in other reviews is by far the best we have ever seen and worth the booking alone.
Huge thanks to Karl and Emma for letting us stay - we hope to return one day!
We enjoyed our stay in "Appletrees". Emma greeted us at the start and showed us the ropes. We were favourably impressed by the property's generous two bedroom layout, the fitting out which appears new and the equipment provided. The property is convenient for visiting local coastal locations such as Holy Island and Bamburgh. We tried and enjoyed the White Swan which is one of the two pubs in the nearby village of Lowick. The weather during the first two days of our stay was wet and windy but the heating system soon dried us out and warmed us up. We hope to return.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Appletrees, a beautiful holiday cottage in Northumberland. The cottage was absolutely perfect, the open plan living area was bright and airy the bedrooms were large with plenty of wardrobe space, the bathrooms were large and modern. The garden was also a lovely place to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped, with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts also provided a welcome basket with snacks and drinks, which was a nice touch.
We would highly recommend Appletrees to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. The cottage is perfect for couples or families, The hosts are friendly and helpful, and the location is ideal.
The cottage is perfect, we are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and the beds and facilities were perfect. The garden is lovely, we were blessed with good weather so managed to have lots of time playing in the garden.
The location is wonderful. It is quiet, but close to the usual places to visits ie. Alnwick, Holy Island etc. We did go to Edinburgh for the day and parked at a park and ride and took the train into the city which was only 10 minutes. We loved the walks at Etal and Ford too.
Emma and Karl were on hand and were super hosts, the place was spotless and they were able to answer questions before and during our stay.
We will be back again, thanks so much!
Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting. Somehow the less-than-perfect British summer weather doesn’t matter when you’re in such a peaceful setting with views across the fields to the hills beyond. Immaculately clean house, well equipped with everything you could possibly need & really comfortable beds & furnishings. The hosts really went out of their way to ensure everything about our stay was catered for, including one of the best welcome packs I’ve ever had with a full array of treats.
The location is also great for easy access to many of the local places to visit including Lindisfarne, Berwick and Bamburgh. But with such lovely views and quiet country roads, you don’t really need to get into a car to enjoy some fabulous walks. Highly recommend this cottage and would love to return.
