About this property

The Boathouse at Croft Downie

Be at one with nature in this beautiful and peaceful boathouse on the shores of the Moray Firth. Surrounded by beaches and ancient woodlands, the Boathouse at Croft Downie offers the perfect rural retreat with long romatic walks along the beach or through the forest. Immerse yourself in nature, surrounded by otters and heron, with the occasional glimpse of red squirrels, deer and even the Moray Firth dolphins. Idylic isolation just 15 minutes from Inverness town centre. This completely unique studio property with beaches either side sits on the South shore of the beautiful Black Isle between Kilmuir and the Kessock Bridge, with 270 degree views over the Moray Firth.

The 30m2 studio apartment has a super-king-size bed at one end, a working/eating area in the middle and a fully fitted kitchen and living area at the other end. The property benefits from an en-suite shower-room and a wood burning stove. Downstairs, guests have access to wild-swimming in the shallows of the Moray Firth and a private room with double-ended bath and outside shower. There is plenty of outside seating along with a gas barbeque and plenty of space for camp fires.

Guests have exclusive access to the studio apartment, private room at beach level, beaches, lawn and ample car parking with multiple sitting and dining areas. Beach and forest walks can be directly accessed from the property, and boats, canoes and kayaks can be launched easily from the beaches beside the property. Guests can contact Graham by email or telephone at any time with local backup numbers available for emergencies.
