About this property

Dene Cottage | Garden & Log Burner | Dogs welcome

Dene Cottage is a characterful 4-bedroom cottage in the heart of Youlgreave, sleeping up to 8 - and dogs are welcome too. Gather round the log burner after a day on the trails, soak in the claw-foot roll-top bath, and unwind in a private sun-trap garden.

Three village pubs, cafés and a shop are just steps from the door, with Bakewell, Chatsworth and the Monsal Trail all a short drive away. An ideal base for walking, cycling, foodie weekends, and proper Peak District escapes - in every season.

Tucked away in the heart of the charming village of Youlgreave, Dene Cottage is your ideal escape into the Peak District. Whether you're lacing up your boots for a riverside walk along the Bradford or Lathkill Dale, browsing the markets in nearby Bakewell, or simply unwinding in the countryside, this beautifully appointed cottage offers the perfect blend of traditional character and genuine home comfort.

Ground Floor - Kitchen & Dining
The heart of the cottage is a well-equipped traditional kitchen, ready for everything from a hearty post-hike breakfast to a proper dinner party. The dining area seats six in comfort - just the spot for long, leisurely meals with family or friends. A short climb of five steps leads you up to the next level.

Living Room & Twin Bedroom
The generous lounge is made for gathering - with a crackling log burner, plenty of cosy seating for up to eight guests, and large windows that frame the patio and private garden beyond. It's the kind of room you won't want to leave. Tucked just off the lounge is a twin bedroom, ideal for guests who like to stay close to the action.

First Floor – Master Suite
Access to the stunning master bedroom, where a classic four-poster bed, a built-in wardrobe, and lovely garden views await. The generous ensuite is a real treat, featuring a claw-foot roll-top bath - perfect for soaking away the miles after a day exploring the Peaks.

Second Floor – Additional Bedrooms & Shower Room
The top floor offers a modern shower room with a separate WC, a cosy single bedroom with a daybed (with a pop-up trundle bed available if needed), and a flexible zip-and-link bedroom that can be set up as twins or a super-king - just let us know your preference at the time of booking. Both rooms benefit from built-in wardrobe storage.

Garden & Parking
Step outside into your own private suntrap garden - perfect for morning coffees, alfresco dining, or simply soaking up the Derbyshire air.
Parking is easy, available on the road directly outside the property.

Guest access
Guests have the whole house and garden to themselves for the duration of the stay. Self-check-in via lockbox means you can arrive on your own schedule.

We welcome well-behaved pets! However, pets are not allowed on soft furnishings or upstairs. Failure to adhere to this may incur an extra fee for soiled items.
Feel free to bring along pet beds and bowls

Whilst we do have a log burner, we do ask that guests bring along the logs that they may wish to use for cooler evenings.

Please let us know in advance if your party will include 8th guests
