The Sunset beachfront home in Pacific City is a comfortable, well-loved classic—perfect for a relaxed and affordable coastal retreat. Set on a quiet street uniquely bordered by the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Nestucca River on the other, this home enjoys a peaceful setting right in the heart of town.
Ideal for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and groups who enjoy fishing, beach combing, and exploring the coast, The Sunset offers an easygoing atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year. While this is an older home and not filled with luxury finishes, its charm, functionality, and unbeatable location have made it a longtime favorite among returning beachgoers.
Inside, you'll find a comfortable open layout that works well for gathering, relaxing, and sharing meals after a day outdoors. Pets are welcome, so your furry companions can join in on the coastal fun, and the home offers ample parking—an added bonus for groups, trailers, or multiple vehicles.
Please note: while this is an oceanfront property, a high sand bank currently blocks most ocean views, and beach access from the home is steep. Even so, the location, laid-back comfort, and welcoming feel make The Sunset a solid choice for guests seeking a classic Pacific City beach stay with room to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

This home was fantastic, great location, lots of space for everyone. Really easy check in and communication with rental management company was really easy, they were very considerate and thoughtful. Enjoyed the great ocean views and access to beach and Bob Straub park.
Good size home on the water, 2 baths is great, can sleep plenty. Only hard part was the slope down to the beach but on the opposite the top of the cliff provided great views.
It’s a beach house. Very clean, excellent sleeping options, kitchen well stocked, beds were comfortable and it’s close to everything. No real outdoor areas but after all day on the beach hanging out inside was fine
The property has everything needed and is in a secluded spot. It is ocean front but is high of the dunes so access to the beach takes a bit of a hike down the street. We really enjoyed the seclusion of this beach with very few other people around on this weekend.
Older but well equipped. It had lots of towels but lacking wash cloths. We did not try to get down to the beach from the house. It was too steep for us, but short walk to an easy access. The house was close to everything for us, even horse back riding. It was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Comfortable, cozy, feel! Was perfect for us! Our three days and nights were fun. Only advice I’d give is a ping pong table in the basement would have been perfect, oh and a bbq for our steaks would have made our meal! 👌 Thank you so much- we will be back!

Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate the feedback and hope to see you at the beach again soon! Kiwanda Coastal Properties
This was perfect for our family. Nothing was missing for convenience or comfort but it was simple decor with minimal nick nacks. So important when you have a 3 year old. A lot of stairs, which we thought was fun, but something to be aware of. No actual beach access. I would definitely rent again.
Nice clean cozy house, great location, easy access to beach. Went fishing in the morning, walked on the beach in the afternoon, cooked a nice home family meal at the house for Dinner. Traveled to Lincoln City to play slots at Chinook Winds Casino. Great weekend all and all.
Great place for the five of us, beach access is adventurous, but fun. Location at the South end was great for dog walking. Across the street was the boat launch on the river, watched Bald Eagles, Osprey and Herons every time I headed that way. If you have paddle boards or kayaks, bring them. We will be back.
Nice house in a great location. The house has a good layout and is reasonably well kept. As others have noted, the beach access is steep and sandy, so it's for the able-bodied. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped, and there's good light from the beach-side windows. We wished for a grill, and also there's not much of an outdoor space to "hang out" other than the small front deck on the driveway/river side. One guest was a little grossed out by some stains on the furniture upholstery. Slip covers would have taken care of that. Overall we had three adults and four kids, and we all had our space to enjoy ourselves, both together and apart. This is a good house.
This older home has a nice location and all of the basic amenities. There are not any frills, extras, or anything super memorable. The furniture was pretty old, but comfy enough. I was happy that they had ground coffee available, and my kids were thrilled that there was a collection of books on the shelves.
Beach access was not very good, and heating in lower half was not good except bedrooms. Also dishes and utensils were minimal. But enjoyed stay otherwise.
We had a great time at this beach home. It was super cozy and warm. There were lots and lots of pots and pans, utensils, plates, bowels and silverware. There are also lots of books and movies. The only bummer is there is a huge mound of sand that blocks the beach but you cant change mother nature. There is a cool state park and boat ramp across the street.
Definitely an older home. Damp and musty smelling. Most windows did not open and the ones that did didn’t have screens. Old furniture, dining room chair seat broken. Could have been cleaner. The tub/shower was so slippery it was dangerous! No bath mat or grab bars were provided.
The check in process was easy. Just make sure youre checking your emails for instructions to sign the contract. The property was secluded and clean. Everything was easy to find in the house. Lots of towels! We were able to cook for a family dinner easily. Laundry was on property and easy to access. The walk to the beach was less accessible than what i could see in pictures. There is a sandy hill to climb at the back of the property. Its a great place to watch the sunset. If you want easy beach access go to pelican brewery just down the street. The town has a small grocery but is very expensive. Plan to bring in food. Overall we were happy and sad to leave!

We had a great time! The house is excellent for people being together--family meals and interaction in open spaces--and room for separation to sleep. We were near the beach and loved walking there and looking for shells. The only downside is that the spaces could have been cleaner. One boy found both a candy wrapper and and unopened candy bar under his bed. One of the adult women saw way too much dust under the bed as she did stretching exercises.
Entry stairs were tough for my parents. House was clean. Served our needs. There was no view at all, although it was not advertised with a view. I wrongly assumed a house on the beach with sand dunes meant we would have access from the house. We had to walk a short distance to access beach.
