My siblings and spouses get together every June 10th to kayak in honor of our Father who passed away on this date in 2021. The last 2 years we decided to rent a house rather than hotels. The Reverie is an absolutely beautiful place. The beds were awesome and we were all able to sit at the dining room table together . We so enjoyed the front porch and the fire pit area. Becky is amazing and a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend The Reverie for your next stay. You will love it! Such a beautiful historic home in a quiet neighborhood.
Our group really enjoyed our stay here. The spacious living areas, many beds, large backyard, and numerous personal touches all made for a great weekend.
Beautiful vintage ascetics, we loved it. Great room for scrapbooking and crafting. We really enjoyed our time away. Wineries, beach, shopping all nearby.
Host Becky was very attentive and made sure we had all our requests and questions answered promptly
This was a great place to stay for our getaway. Great rooms. Our contact for the property was very helpful and responded quickly. We hope to visit again.
We traveled for a Macker with another family and stayed at the house. Lots of space, we didn’t feel on top of each other. Loved the HUGE dining room table for all to eat together. Beds were great and we all slept well on them. The porch was a great hang out space for anll. Enjoyed the history of the house too! Would rent again if in the area.
Beautiful woodwork throughout this large in town home. Well stocked kitchen, wonderful towels in the three baths and our entire party said their beds were comfy. We would have enjoyed better and more seating in the living areas. Not sure why there were several plastic folding tables in the main living space, it certainly detracted from the home’s charm.
This is a terrific house for a family summer vacation. Ten-year-old grandson loved exploring all the rooms. Owner is gracious, great to work with. Loved it!

This was AMAZING!!!!
Our family stayed at this property for the Ludington Gus Macker weekend like we go to every year except this time we decided on staying under one roof and it was the best decision we made. This place was phenomenal.
Overall, we had a great time! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals for our group of 12. We enjoyed the backyard with the fire pit and outdoor games. There was plenty of room for all of us! We spent a day at the beach and we drove to Michigan's Adventure another day while we were there.
Becky was prompt in responding to messages and there were clear and simple instructions for the house when we arrived.
I loved this place. Felt instantly at home with its charm and character. Had our first family vacation with grown kids and their spouses/boyfriends. After a 4 day stay, I felt sad/nostalgic leaving when we locked the door! It was so good!!
Loved the property because it was roomy and put you at ease. The selection of board games was great, and we enjoyed some of the books as well. The wheelchair ramp was excellent and provided great access. There was some clutter in the house, but this actually helped to make us not so nervous to enjoy it to its limit.
We had a lovely time and enjoyed the house. The beds were extremely comfortable. There were lots of fresh flowers and thoughtful items left for our use. I definitely recommend this property!
Nice historic home near the beaches, etc. of Luddington and Pentwater.
We had a great time here with kids and grand kids. Large well equipped kitchen, lots of room to spread out, 5 beautiful bedrooms, huge front porch for morning coffee and a fire pit for evening campfires. Minutes away from a wide variety of outdoor activities. Great location.
My family and I really enjoyed the big house and the fire pit in the back yard. My bed was very comfy and I loved the swing on the front porch.

About the host
Hosted by Becky Alway
Becky and Rob Alway, along with their two daughters, have lived in western Michigan all of their lives. Like the Reverie Retreat, they also live in a historic home just a few blocks away.
Why they chose this property
The Reverie Retreat was built in 1909 and originally owned by John and Catherine Mack. Mr. Mack owned a general store in Scottville, in partnership with Justus Stearns, one of the most famous lumber barons of the Great Lakes region.
What makes this property unique
The Edwardian style house is one of three "mansions" that were built in Scottville in the early 20th century. The other two homes remain, just a few short blocks away. The Reverie Retreat features five bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a canopy king bed and hot tub in its own private bathroom.
