About this property

Beautiful small home designed after many trips to Italy! Located in a peaceful neighborhood tucked in a wooded area! It has all the amenities you need to feel at home.

IMPORTANT: There will be house construction in front of this cottage from Mon-Fri From 9am-6pm. We apologize about the inconvenience in advance.

We are 12 miles from the Tryon Equestrian Center, 20 min to Shelby, 1 hour to Asheville, and 1 hour or less away to many beautiful mountains, waterfalls and outdoor activities!

5-8 minutes away, you can find an Ingles supermarket with a Starbucks and gas station, a Walmart, an ALDI and other convenient stores.

Relax in the evening outside by the fire pit. Firewood included.

PET FEE: If you bring a pet with you, PLEASE select that you’re bringing a dog with you and the pet fee will automatically be charged. If you forget to select this, we’ll send you a money request with the pet fee amount.

Another wonderful stay at Kimberly & Alex’s adorable, comfortable cottage. We visit once a year & wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else! They are fantastic hosts & the cottage is just absolutely perfect for couples or a single person. They are always very responsive & the cottage is stocked well with amenities & always spotlessly clean. It’s like being in the wilderness & so peaceful, yet only a few minutes drive to town. They have went above & beyond for us during many visits & we couldn’t be happier to stay at their lovely Italian inspired, peaceful little slice of Heaven! Great stay

We enjoyed our short stay visiting our hometown and really liked the house. The property is conveniently located close to many things (supermarket, restaurants, downtown Forest City). The owners have so many thoughtful touches throughout the property. The bathroom was especially nice and we had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Great Stay

This is the second year I have stayed her when visiting my daughter at college. It is a very comfortable, clean, quiet house/cabin. Amenities are good and it is in a convenient location to Ashville, Shelby, and other things to do such as hiking. Will stay again!

Forest City Getaway

Our stay at this Forest City area cottage was excellent. The cottage was very clean and very well maintained. It was exactly as advertised and I would stay there again on a future visit to the area. The hosts were most helpful and very concerned that we were happy with our stay. I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone interested in one of this size and type.

Weekend get away

I booked this property as a get away for my Wifes birthday its the perfect size for two people. Its in a nice location close to Forest City, many winery's in the area about an hour from Charlette or an hour from Ashville. Cabin seems secluded with plenty of wooded area around and privacy fence. Very simple but well thought out. We had a great time and will defiantly stay here if we are in the area again.

We’ve been married for over 10 years and during those years, we’ve traveled to over 20 countries. We’ve backpacked, camped, flown and cruised many of this countries. And after seeing so many beautiful places, we always came home and felt so happy to come back to a beautiful, peaceful place. We feel so happy to see the beauty of our tree covered mountains, waterfalls, rivers and lakes that we decided to build 2 small homes so people could see what we’re so thankful to come back to.
We embarked on this project 2 years ago. With a “home made” blue print, we started building this house ourselves. Just our 4 little hands and the ones of good close friends from time to time. We hope while you stay here and travel around our area, you can also bring back home a new experience... a new discovered beauty like the ones we find everywhere we go.

Why they chose this property

After going to Italy, Spain, Morocco, Mexico and many other beautiful countries, we wanted to bring some of that beauty our way. You will notice this on the beautiful walls in this cottage.
The kitchen is fully equipped with the things you’ll need such as a Keurig, coffee, dinnerware, cookware, toaster, .
After a nice day out, you can enjoy your evening on the porch listening to the birds or inside catching up on your favorite TV show. We provide Cable as well as Netflix. Our queen bed will give you a good night rest to wake up the next day feeling ready for a new adventure.
In the bathroom you’ll find clean towels , hand soap and toiletries.
In case you need to do a wash, we provide a washer and dryer for your convenience.
And for an extra fixture, you’ll have a small room with a utility sink.

If you’re traveling with family or friends and want to stay near each other, but not in the same house, we have 2 separate houses on the same property. Each house has 1 bedroom but there is a sleeper sofa in each living room that will fit 2 more. We’ll really appreciate if you let us know if you’ll be booking for 4 instead of 2, that way we can make sure the whole party will have plenty of towels.

We have a small trail around our house in a wooded area which will be perfect to walk your dogs.

If hiking, rock climbing, waterfalls, trout fishing or kayaking gets you outside, we are surrounded by free access places. We provide an information sheet with recommended areas.
We are exactly one hour from airports such as Asheville (NC) Charlotte (NC) and Greenville (SC).
