About this property
Spacious Log Cabin < 10 Mins from Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie RR & App Ski Mtn
Tweetsie House offers the conveniences and luxury of modern construction while giving the feel of a rustic mountain cabin and setting. From the valley below, the faraway whistle of a steam locomotive sounds. It's Tweetsie Railroad's historic steam engine--and the namesake of this rustic, charming cabin in the woods. Find us on Instagram @tweetsiehouse.
Why You'll Come Back Again and Again...
Tweetsie House is ideally located between Boone and Blowing Rock in the gorgeous High Country of North Carolina. No matter what the season, Tweetsie House is a perfect destination: escape to the cool mountain air in summer; enjoy the breathtaking fall foliage, take advantage of many different winter sports, or watch the mountains come alive in spring—whether hiking in the woods or relaxing on the deck. All within minutes of Tweetsie House, you'll find so much to do!
What to Expect When You Arrive...
Upon arrival you will be guided by landscape lighting along the driveway lined with pavers and stone walls. Motion control exterior lighting allows for visitors to easily access the front porch and enter and exit from the large parking area.
The main level features hardwood floors throughout, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and a large dining table that, when fully extended, seats 10 people. The main living room has leather furnishings and large multi-story windows that overlook the mountains and valley.
The main level living area features a vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, large flatscreen TV, gas log fireplace, and whole-house WiFi. Also on the main level is the master bedroom suite with king-size bed, TV, private bath with tub and shower, walk-in closet, and access to the rear deck.
The main level rear deck extends the full length of the house. From the deck, visitors can enjoy the mountain view and enjoy the use of a large gas grill, outdoor seating, and outdoor dining areas.
The upper level features hardwood floors throughout. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen-size bed and one with a pair of twin beds. These bedrooms share a bath with a shower and tub.
The lower level features two bedrooms, each with a king-size bed. One bedroom is adjacent to a full bath. Bedrooms are separated by a large den with a flat screen TV. Both bedrooms enjoy access to the full length lower level deck and six-person hot tub.
The covered lower deck is where you can relax in the hot tub or listen to rain pitter patter during a rain shower. The three level arrangement lets the young children have an area to themselves upstairs while the older children and adults can enjoy one of the two other living areas.
The whole-house heat pump heating and cooling system is complimented by a gas fireplace on the main level and a gas buckstove on the lower level.
Relax knowing that, on your arrival, your kitchen is ready for your bags of groceries; all pots, pans, and small appliances—including two Keurigs and a 10-cup Mr Coffee—are at your disposal. Make chili for a crowd in the crockpot while you ski. Roast your holiday bird in the large roasting pan provided. Make a birthday cake with on-site baking pans and high quality hand mixer. Ice cream maker, too!

Thank you for the great review, Virginia! We would sure love to have you back. Hope to host you again in the High Country next time you're out this way!
Best Snow tripThis cabin is in a wonderful location and helped make this vacation one of our all time favorites. It has a cozy feeling and yet has plenty of space for everyone. The attention to details throughout were so thoughtful. The kitchen is well equipped. Loved having the crockpot and the electric mixer as my son had a birthday while we were there and we made him a cake. There were even candles in the cabinets available. We loved the rocking chairs in the bedrooms - it worked great for bedtime stories for the kids. We loved the yard. As soon we arrived the kids started playing in the snow. The side yard is wonderful for sledding. And the area right in front of the house was a favorite for the little kids to play in the snow. It felt so comfortable being there and everyone would love to stay here again. The hosts were very responsive and available to be reached. The driveway was a challenge several times with ice and getting vehicles in and out when it was iced. But the owners had snow chains and snow melt and shovels available to use which was great. We are already looking forward to coming again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Tweetsie House. The location was very convenient to the area attractions. It was so nice to use the hot tub after our day out exploring. We would definitely come back to stay here when we plan another trip.

Such a cute space for two families to hang out while in town visiting our college son on a snowy weekend. Super clean, good location (snowy driveway a little tricky), quaint, cozy space. We played bored games, enjoyed the fireplace space, and the hot tub under the stars was spectacular. We highly recommend!

We had an amazing long weekend at this cabin! It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the snow with family. The location was fantastic, offering beautiful views and easy access to winter fun. The hosts even provided sleds, which made the awesome driveway a great spot for some extra fun in the snow! The cabin itself was clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to rest and recharge—especially helpful since my son had just had his wisdom teeth removed.Overall, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and we’d absolutely love to come back. Highly recommend!
