Great location on MDI. Easy to get to EVERYTHING and very little traffic. If you are looking for low key, cleanliness and a welcoming deer everyday, this is the place to stay. Definitely would stay again. Everything has been updated...could use a couple of rugs to soak up the sound while talking or watching TV. Can't beat the location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Flying Mountain House. The house was very clean and well-equipped, and its location allowed us to walk to nearby restaurants. We all had a great time and appreciated our stay!
We had a great stay and plenty of space. Our host thought things for a family to stay and made our visit to the area a warm and welcoming experience. The home was stocked with all sorts of needed products and even included extras we were not expecting.
We loved the location and the property! Close enough to everything but quiet in the evening. The place was uncluttered and very clean! The host is responsive and helpful. Will definitely book one of Ingrid's property again.
My teenaged boys and I very much enjoyed our stay. The place is new and clean. Nice having bedrooms and bathrooms on different floors. Townhouse is conveniently located near several good restaurants, coffee shop and kayaking company.
The townhouse was clean and spacious. Great location, quiet and away from the craziness of Bar Harbor but close enough to Acadia NP. Only thing missing was a large pot (large enough to boil two lobsters) and a claw cracker. But we made do with a smaller pot (it fit 1 lobster) and a scissors. You can't go wrong with renting this property.
Very clean and roomy townhouse for our group of two couples. Our host was very communicative and has a large selection of brochures and tips for seeing the area, plus a lovely bottle of wine. We would recommend this vacation home and would gladly stay again if in the area.
The unit was clean and as advertised. The location was perfect on the quiet side of MDI. This was the perfect location to enjoy Acadia and surrounding area. The Flying Mountain unit is the center of 3 units and sound did travel but it wasn’t bad noise wise. The welcome card and wine were perfect touches and the community outdoor area with grills and seating great.
We enjoyed our stay in Southwest Harbor. The location was ideal for access to all parts of Acadia as well as stores and restaurants. The house was clean and had all of the necessary amenities. We appreciated having the two twin beds and second bathroom for the kids as well as laundry. There was plenty of room to rest and recharge after hiking and exploring. Would stay here again and will recommend to friends and family in the future.
The property was great. It wasn’t right I. Downtown Bar Harbor which we preferred. The travel time to the Cadillac mountain entrance is about 20 minutes.
This a is great property for families. It is very clean. It is about a 25 minute drive from the main entrance to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The walls are thin. We could hear the conversations in the neighboring units but our neighbors went to bed at a reasonable hour so it wasn’t an issue.
We enjoyed our stay in this guesthouse. Great size for our family of four. Lovely area close to several nice restaurants and a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Easy check in and nice amenities. The walls between the other guest units were very thin and you heard everything the other guests were doing. We thought the window between the loft bedroom and main living space was a big downside bc you could see any light from downstairs in the bedroom if someone was trying to sleep while others were downstairs. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!
This property has updated features and was very clean. The host was very responsive before and during the trip.We did have a few issues during the stay (tv reception, getting locked out once) and she responded quickly. For guest comfort I would put a curtain on the inside window in upstairs bedroom to block light from downstairs. On the very warm days, the box fan, as well as the overhead fan helped with the warm temp of the upstairs bedroom.
What a nice getaway we had! And, after being out in the park all day, it was good to come back to a pleasant retreat! Ingrid, our host, was responsive to all our inquiries. She sent a detailed email about check in, including clear directions to find the unit. The pictures in the posting were accurate and it was nice to have a dishwasher and washer and dryer. The furniture, including the beds, were clean and comfortable. The town of Southwest Harbor was near many park sights. The town itself was quaint and we had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves and would return should we be in the area.
Great value and a comfortable/enjoyable stay for our family with 2 adult children. Ingrid is a great host. Unit was exceptionally clean and up to date. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to have a few meals in. Grocery store is convenient to get to. Outdoor grill area could be more inviting with improved landscaping, better seating and/or a fire pit. Could walk to Southwest Harbor, but we drove. Only decision next time is whether we want to be closer to Acadia and/or right in Southwest Harbor and up the fee to stay so we can enjoy the water, town or natural areas right outside our windows. It was about a 20 minute drive to Cadillac Mountain. Not a bad location, but the unit is not exactly a destination experience. There is no AC, but I’m sure I knew that going into it. It was an unusually warm few days (lucky us) for us in late May. No regrets in booking this property with Ingrid!
