Our apartment is located in the heart of the beautiful El Born district of Barcelona’s Historic Centre known as Ciutat Vella.

It’s on the doorstep of the magnificent Picasso Museum and MOCO, Barcelona’s new Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Chocolate Museum and the Ciutadella Park. It’s a 5-minute walk from the beautiful palm-fringed marina and the cathedral, a 10 minute walk from the Ramblas, and just 15 minutes from the beaches that led to Barcelona being crowned Nº1 Beach City in the World by National Geographic Magazine.

The apartment has a floor area of 90m2 and provides real home from home comfort and every luxury to make your holiday accommodation extra special. It has high speed fibre optic internet at 100mbps, duck down duvets in winter, a Nespresso coffee machine and a home cinema system.

It is spacious with open plan areas in the living room & kitchen/dining room. It has high vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams and French windows leading out onto little wrought iron Juliette balconies.

It has a landline, a breakfast bar, a split-level spa-style bathroom with a huge shower cubicle. It even has a secret door!

The apartment was also featured in a TV documentary on Catalán interiors.

Amazing property and location!

Kay, Christine and Sarah were all amazing to communicate with. Everything was super easy from a late check-in to check out. The location was amazing with the majority of everything within walking distance including Barceloneta Beach. Some of the best restaurants in Barcelona are with a 5-15 minute walk from the property. We would absolutely stay here again. Kay and Christine, thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great location and space

Spent about a week in Barcelona and this was a perfect location, we walked to almost everywhere we went. The apartment was clean and well stocked. The host was attentive and my family and I really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing apartment

This apartment was in an amazing location in the El Born area. It’s in a pedestrian area so very quiet. We loved being able to walk right out of the apartment to all the shops and restaurants. The owner was so wonderful with all my questions and helped with connecting me with her hairdresser before our son’s wedding. We would definitely stay here again!

5-10 mt walk to center of Gothic Quarter

Plenty of space, property manager communicated with us consistently before, during, and after our stay. She even booked are transport from the airport which we greatly appreciated.

Stay in El Born

The apartment works very well as a staging point to explore Barcelona. Everything is walkable and the transit is close. With two teenagers, we had plenty of space and the information from the host is excellent. From checkin to instructions for appliances, everything was easy.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of Born

We had a lovely stay at Kay’s apartment. Check in was great. Both Kay and Sarah communicated well throughout our stay. We loved the neighborhood and walkability of the area. The apartment was accurate from the listing, clean, and comfortable. There were some issues with the security alarm and smoke detectors going off unexpectedly, which Kay and Sarah addressed promptly and professionally. Overall, I’d recommend this place to other small families of 3 to 4 people when visiting Barcelona.

Perfect Family Vacation!

The apartment was wonderful for our stay in Barcelona! It was clean, close to amazing restaurants, shops, and walking distance to just about everything you’d want to see and do. Kay was extremely communicative and cared about our needs. Even plug adaptors and charging stations were available. I highly recommend this apartment!

Can We Stay Here Forever?

We're here enjoying Kay's graciously sized and well-appointed flat. The place has exceeded all expectations and it is located in the best area of Barcelona. We're not sure what is the most impressive: our hostess Kay's hospitality upon meeting us, the proximity of the most acclaimed sites and restaurants, or the neighborhood vibrancy. Our next visit to Barcelona will surely include a stay at this wonderful home away from home.

Perfect location, beautiful apartment

Apartment was as described, in a lovely location around the corner from the Picasso Museum. We took some of the excellent suggestions on where to eat and were glad we did so! We were met at agreed upon location and shown the apartment and had all of our questions answered. We really appreciated the welcome basket as well.

It was the perfect location and apartment for our first visit to Barcelona. The apartment was as advertised and nice. The information notebook was very helpful. Our grandchildren joined us for one night and enjoyed the DVD selection. I would highly recommend.

Upsides were: Great location, easy to walk everywhere, clean and very easy to contact Kay. Kay responded very quickly when issues with washer/dryer arose. Used drying rack as unable to use dryer. Downsides were: bed sags badly in middle so bad back each morning, lounge suite the same and uncomfortable, very noisy through the night and able to hear all neighbours through walls and ceiling, curtains don’t stop light and streetlight make it hard to sleep..

Perfect apartment in El Born

We loved Kay’s apartment. It was the perfect location in Barcelona. The El Born neighborhood was our favorite. We walked everywhere; all of the sights, beach and bars. There are lots of bars and restaurants just steps away from the apartment. Check in was simple. We were greeted with a welcome basket with treats for the kids. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Kay sent us recommendations. The apartment is better in person than the pictures in the listing. We loved our time at Kay’s apartment and would stay again!

Wonderful apartment, helpful owners

Little to add to what appears in other reviews. The location was magnificent, and the apartment immaculate. The beds were beyond hotel quality, and there was no street noise. We ate mostly tapas, and carried some things back to the apartment to eat too, especially the Hoffman croissants. So much to see in our first trip to Barcelona. There were more stairs than we thought there would be for first floor, but one adjusts. The responsiveness and helpfulness of Kay and Rafael cannot be over-stressed.

The overall area was very sociable. Within a 2 minute walk was a plaza with many restaurants, bars and shops. This made evening dining and activities very convenient. The only inconveniences with this specific place was the 4 flights of stairs to access the room (only an issue with multiple suitcases, which we had) and the need for a physical check-in with the management company to get the keys and be escorted to the apartment. Due to our early morning arrival time, we had to wait around a half hour to be able to meet with them to get to the apartment. Thankfully, he also helped with the suitcases. Overall though, I would recommend this place and it's location was perfect to enjoy many of the aspects of Barcelona.

Excellent location, wonderful place to stay!

We booked the property for a week in November for a family trip with our two teenagers. The apt is on a quiet pedestrian street so there is no traffic noise. It is just off the del Born street so you are very close to all theTapas and shopping you can handle. The location is also within walking distance of all the tourist hot spots. You can walk to the beach in 10min, to Sagrada Familia in 25min, and all other points of interest in 10-15min. The apt is very clean and perfectly sized for a group of 4 people with a nice little kitchen and plenty of room to relax after a long day of exploring the city.

El Born

A great property and experience overall. I've stayed at many VRBO and other such properties, but never before was the host so attentive in advance and check-in experience so perfectly seamless. The property itself is tucked away in a quiet little part of El Born, yet still in the heart of it. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and this entire, large apartment, was spotless. It was well appointed including every little thing you would need in the kitchen if you were staying more than the two days we did. There is no question that we would stay here again. Highly recommend it.

Hello there! The first thing I should probably tell you is that I came to Spain on holiday for 2 weeks and stayed! I guess the sun, the cuisine, the culture and outdoor lifestyle all had something to do with it. The fact is I’ve never stopped enjoying the things I love here. After some time I moved from Valencia to Barcelona and have worked throughout that time as a teacher and translator as well as a property manager now too of course! My life is busy and diverse and also involves making regular trips back to Scotland, where I was born. I feel really lucky to live in such beautiful places - I love the contrast between the two. Nevertheless, be warned! If my own experience is anything to go by and you do decide to come here on holiday, you may end up staying a bit longer than you bargained for!!

Why they chose this property

Quite simply – it was love at first sight. The Born area of the city centre is utterly magical and this was the first and last apartment I looked at. I often walk through the gorgeous winding streets and alleyways surrounding the apartment with their myriad boutiques and terrace cafés bathed in sunlight before heading back to the apartment and sitting in the peace and quiet of the living room, soaking up the beauty of it all and thinking - yes - this is the essence of the place I love. The Born has become even more charming and beautiful since I bought the apartment in 2003 and if I could come back to Barcelona now and see it all again as if it were the first time, it’s still this apartment in this part of town I would hope to find.

What makes this property unique

Firstly I would say it's the location. It’s right in the middle of the most historic, beautiful and happening area of the city with the benefit of being nestled in a quiet pedestrian-only side street, which is just a 15 minute walk from the beach. The apartment itself has the perfect contrast, so distinctive to Barcelona, of seamlessly blending old and new; design without compromising on comfort. Having the award-winning Hoffman bakery (best croissants I have ever tasted) just around the corner may also have something to do with it though! Or it might be the proximity to Cal Pep (delicious seafood) or Bar Pla (delicious everything)! Most likely though it's a combination of all of these things and coming in through the front door after a day out, sitting down, kicking my shoes off and relishing that wonderful sensation of feeling totally at home in a foreign land.
