Happy In Highlands

Property is just as good as advertised. My wife, who is very particular, loved it. Looking at the distant mountains from the hot tub was a great. Nearby Norton Cemetery is a treat for history buffs.

beds are in terrible shape. Mattress on both beds upstairs are in poor shape. Unable to get a good sleep. Microwave needs a knob to operate (knob missing). Both bathroom Showers do not drain properly leaving you standing in water. Yard is overgrown in back, could not allow my dogs out there (too snakey looking) view from back deck is obstructed by 3 poplar saplings that need to be removed. Furniture is outdated and very uncomfortable in living area.

Gorgeous views from home and beautiful, comfortable home.

We reserved the property in July and corresponded with the owner several times through the VRBO app. However, though we received the address, we never received the code to get in. The night before we came, which was on Christmas night, we had to call the VRBO help line to get the property owners phone number. We had left a couple of messages through the app, but received no response. I think we woke Stephanie up the morning we were coming to the property to get the code. This was frustrating and we had never run into this issue before in renting thru VRBO.. Our stay has been wonderful.

We fell in love with Highlands, NC, and less than a year from visiting, we decided to buy, as we knew it was a place we couldn't wait to return to. We fell in love with this 'little' house and the amazing views it has to offer, and it's closer proximity to some of our favorite shops, hikes, and restaurants. We can't wait to share this super special place with others :)

Why they chose this property

The location of this home is great. It is close to Cashiers, as well as downtown Highlands. It is walking distance to Sliding Rock, and has panoramic mountain views from almost every room in the home. It has two large balconies over looking the mountains, as well as a fenced in yard for dogs or kids to play.

What makes this property unique

The balcony space is great for gathering, playing games, enjoying the hot tub, and so much more.
