For those who want to improve their culinary skills there is a professional kitchen (Lacanche) and outside a quaint stone barbecue. The large travertine table under the 'pergola' of wisteria is ideal for those who want eat outdoors

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden of 400 square meters with a majestic old oak tree; lavender, rose and rosemary delimit the solarium. The rooftop swimming pool offers a picnic area and Habitable for the whole day. The swimming pool is open from june to september.

The village is in an ideal position to visit the main cities of art: Siena (15 min), Arezzo (40 minutes), Florence (75 min). Near great restaurants and the most famous wineries in Tuscany. Sports: Trekking, cycling and horse riding.

Lovely property with a nice kitchen and good indoor communal spaces. The outdoor spaces were beautiful, but use was limited by the intensity of mosquitos in the area (not the host’s fault, obviously).

Perfect place for exploring Tuscany

Our family stayed at Nicoletta’s property for 2 weeks and we very much enjoyed our stay. The house was so lovely and comfortable. The pool was a god send during the hot days. The area was quiet, convenient and easy to access. We would stay there again!

Beautiful House, Beautiful Location

After spending 8 days in Rome and Florence, it was such a relief to arrive at this home. The location, view and landscaping is absolutely beautiful. Inside there is everything you need as well as lovely furnishings. Nicoletta could not have been more responsive and helpful both before and during our stay.

We have had a perfect stay in this house, especially the patio like terrace was a delight when having dinner. The house is decorated tastefully and is well equipped. The swimmingpool is shared with other residents, but most of them weren't there this summer, so more a private pool.

Wonderful - peaceful and beautiful!!

Our family of 5 adults truly loved our stay here with the beauty of Tuscany around us. Our trip started in Rome which we loved - but so glad the last part of our trip was in this relaxing home and area. We stepped in and instantly felt relaxed and at home. Beautiful home and gardens. Towns we visited while there were Chianti (loved Poggio Amorelli winery!), Siena, Florence and Montepulciano. Nicoletta was very prompt in communication and very sweet. Highly recommend this booking!

Fantastic property! Large spacious apartment that was very comfortable. Kitchen was well set up and it was a treat to find some common spices provided. Only downside was the 1 km gravel access road. Road was rough in spots so the drive in could be slow for those not in a rental car!

Beautiful stay in a beautiful area

I recently spent a weekend at this lovely farmhouse with my family. There were five of us in total and there was plenty of space for eating dinners together, working in the kitchen, relaxing outside and lounging in the living room. The house is spotlessly clean, beautifully updated and very functional. We were very comfortable there and could easily have stayed much longer. We were a short drive from Siena and about 45 minutes from the Val d'Orcia area - which is rich with gorgeous scenery, castles and stunning villages. Throughout the reservation process, the days leading up to our arrival and during our stay, Nicoletta was a wonderful host. She was easy to communicate with and quick to reply to our questions. She was warm and accommodating when we met her at the house. Grazie, Nicoletta!

Family-Friendly Villa in the Tuscan Hills

Our family of 6 (4 children under 10 years old) had a lovely stay at this villa in Tuscany. The house is so nice and comfortable and perfect for exploring the Tuscan countryside. The kids loved the courtyard patio and swing in the backyard. And the upstairs bedrooms were perfect for 4 kids. Nicoletta had included stuffed animals and some toys in the kids' rooms which was nice. The kitchen could have had a few more cooking utensils. The pool is nice, but all one height so bring floaties if you have small children that don't know how to swim. We were able to visit Assisi, San Gimignano and other hillside towns. We also did a Nonna Ciana cooking class nearby which was great. Overall, the house was perfect for our adventures and felt like home for 6 nights.

Beautiful cottage and breathtaking views!

If you are looking to be away from the crowds, this is the place for you! This small community is perfectly located to visit many Tuscan towns. Close to Siena and one hour from Florence but also near smaller more quiet villages where you can sightsee and get all the fresh food supplies you need. This beautiful stone cottage and the views are as shown in the pictures and even better! We are a family of 5 and we were very comfortable. The pool area has panoramic views on the Tuscan hills. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful private gardens. The outside eating area is to die for! Spotless and with all amenities needed. Tastefully furnished and decorated. More quiet and beautiful than our expectations! We loved everything about our stay and our host, Nicoletta, greeted us with a warm welcome. She was available to answer any questions or give suggestions. We did not want to leave! We plan on coming back!

Fantastic Home and Beautiful Location

Well, in a word -- FANTASTIC! My family (two teenage boys and two adults) stayed for the first week in July. The home is finely decorated with all of the necessary items. Kitchen was excellent and usable. We like to cook and so we did. Great out door eating. There is a barbeque which we unfortunately did not get a chance to use. The pool is heated and immaculate. The home is off the beaten path and in farm lands -- it is essentially an upscale townhouse enclave which appears to be a restoration of old brick Villa -- don't know the history but the architecture was first class. It had a nice shared court yard in front of the home with surrounding private and well maintained yards. Garden areas are beautiful. Upon our initial approach when we were driving up to the premises we turned around thinking it was too nice. Surprise -- it was our place! As for getting to Siena, it takes about 15 minutes by car. But do watch out for the speed traps where pictures are taken at about the 10 and 6 KM markers heading into Siena (going the other way towards the A1 there is a speed trap at about 12 KM from the home). Working with Nicoletta was seamless -- she made herself available to make sure our stay was excellent -- and it was excellent. Siena is simply a wonderful city and staying at this home provided all of the comforts and access. You can't go wrong booking this home.

Great house and a wonderful host!

I recently stayed here with a group of six adults (3 couples). Nicoletta was a very kind and attentive hostess. We ate most of our meals at the house and had everything we needed. The big square table from the photos is located just outside of the kitchen and we enjoyed breakfast there everyday. We spent two full days at the house relaxing, reading inside, lounging outside, and swimming in the pool. We did have to share the pool most days, and the house adjacent to our property was occupied with a family. There is a highway nearby, which we could hear a bit at night and during our beloved outside breakfasts. Overall, though, it was a very enjoyable stay and the perfect way to end our trip to Italy! Thank you!

Lovely villa, but the pool is at far end of the compound

We were here for 10 days. As the other reviewers say, this is a lovely and well furnished villa in a beautiful setting. It also benefits from having a cheap but great restaurant (Il Bivacco) at the end of the access road - 2 minutes in the car or under 15 minutes walk. But while I recommend this villa, it is worth noting the following in making your decision: - although there is a pool (with a stunning view over Tuscan hills), it's about a 2 minute walk up an incline. Doesn't sound like much, but every time you want to get a book or a drink, or go to the toilet it's effectively a 5 minute round trip back to the villa; - there is no air conditioning and, more surprisingly, no electric fans. So if you go in the middle of summer, there is no respite from the heat in the bedrooms at night; - there is no wifi, despite the villa being advertised as having this. I have pointed out this mis-description to Nicoletta. But, at the time of writing this review, the villa is still advertised as having wifi (naughty); - the mattresses are very firm. Of course, when it comes to mattresses everyone's preferences differ. But the firmness and lack of electric fans made it difficult to get a good night's sleep; - you are charged per person, which I only discovered when we increased our party from 4 to 6 after the initial booking. This fact does appear on the property details but it is rather hidden away; - there is only one set of keys for the house, the pool (yes, the pool requires a key!), and the chain barrier to the compound. If your party always does everything together, then this doesn't present a problem. But if different people want to do different things, then it becomes considerably more complex to manage the comings and goings.

Nous avons Ă©tĂ© trĂšs bien reçus par Nicoletta et avons passĂ© un sĂ©jour de rĂȘve dans sa maison trĂšs bien agencĂ©e et Ă©quipĂ©e! Nous avons eu un trĂšs beau temps( la maison n'est pas climatisĂ©e et il faisait chaud dans les chambres situĂ©es au premier Ă©tage) et la piscine a Ă©tĂ© la bienvenue avec une vue magnifique sur la campagne toscane. Nos enfants l'ont adorĂ©e!MĂȘme si elle est partagĂ©e avec plusieurs locations, nous avons Ă©tĂ© la plupart du temps seuls. La villa est situĂ©e Ă  20 minutes Ă  peine de Sienne et est un point de dĂ©part idĂ©al vers Montepulciano ou Pienza (moins d'une heure) tout comme le Chianti ou San Gimignano. Nous la recommandons sans hĂ©siter!

Great accommodations in a great location

My husband and I stayed here with another couple and our only regret is that we only were able to stay 3 days! The accommodations are wonderfully clean and the finishes are extremely nice, providing a great blend of what you hope for in a traditional Tuscan farmhouse but with modern amenities and touches thrown in. There are multiple outdoor spaces to enjoy and - although the property is more like a townhome with other properties surrounding it - we never saw or heard any other residents/tenants so felt like we had perfect privacy. The property has very easy access to the highway which makes daytrips to surrounding towns uncomplicated. As noted in other reviews, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the ensuite bathrooms a bonus for guests like us who were traveling as couples. We've stayed in multiple rental properties throughout Italy over a number of years and can say that the overall combination of features found in Nicoletta's property seems somewhat rare and we really appreciated everything. Nicoletta is a warm, responsive and energetic host - so pleasant and easy to work with. Grazie, Nicoletta, for creating such lovely and enjoyable accommodations! (Although not a comment on the property itself, we'd like to warn others that - in mid-July - the mosquitoes were brutal! Please keep in mind so you can anticipate and still enjoy the beautiful grounds.)

a wonderful property in the middle of nowhere

Nicoletta, the owner, was very friendly and helpful throughout. We spent a wonderful and comfortable week at this property, using it as a base to visit Siena, Florence and the surrounding area. We flew into Pisa and drove from there. We managed to get quite lost, I suggest putting Colonna Del Grillo into Google maps before leaving the airport. The main bedroom is extremely comfortable with a wonderful ensuite. The two other rooms are much smaller but charming. The views are wonderful, particularly from the terrace, we spent many long meal times here relaxing under the loggia. The bar-b-que is excellent and the kitchen well stocked with all necessary equipment.

Nicoletta nous a chaleureusement accueillis dans sa magnifique maison de campagne. Elle nous a donnĂ© rendez-vous Ă  un endroit facile Ă  trouver, tout prĂšs de la demeure afin de nous diriger et nous donner toutes les indications utiles Ă  notre sĂ©jour. Elle nous a laissĂ© des produits de base pour cuisiner et le petit dĂ©jeuner, ce qui fut grandement apprĂ©ciĂ©. La maison est spacieuse, incluant une grande cuisine trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e et une laveuse Ă  linge. Tout Ă©tait propre et les lits confortables. Nous Ă©tions 2 couples et avons profitĂ©s des deux grandes salles de bain attenantes Ă  nos chambres. La maison est bien situĂ©e, prĂšs d'une route importante pour se dĂ©placer facilement en Toscane. L’épicerie se trouve dans une petite ville adjacente et est trĂšs bien garnie avec de bons produits frais et locaux. La tempĂ©rature ne nous a malheureusement pas permis de profiter pleinement de la piscine et des belles terrasses. Le voisinage est tranquille et agrĂ©able, accompagnĂ© de paysages fantastiques. High End Villa in Convenient and Stunning Location

Upon arrival we realize that this villa was the best kitchen for cooking we have ever stayed at. The appliances are all upgraded and it is well equipped. We had a wonderful time staying here. It is not far off the highway making it easy to tour around the area. The en-suite bathrooms make the stay quite comfortable for two couples or a family. There are lots of wonderful dirt roads to hike with no traffic, lots of wildlife, and beautiful sunsets. The owner was helpful and responsive. I would say it may be slightly light on stock items such as hand soaps but there was plenty of salt and oil. Lots of pots and pans. If you plan to use the BBQ which is awesome and I recommend grab a set if tongs to flip your meat. It can be a bit tricky finding the place but the owner was able to help us navigate. I recommend finding Colonna del Grillo on GPS then proceed with directions provided.
