A home away from home. This Adirondack property is minutes from hiking trails, Whiteface Mountain, the AuSable River, the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, Keene and Plattsburgh. Wake up to deer in the yard and fall asleep to owls in the trees. Perfect for families or couples who want a quiet, centrally located home destination. The three acre property is a beautiful setting for a two bedroom (queen bed in each), two bath home equipped with a full kitchen, gas grill, deck, patio, gazebo, a living room with fireplace and Netflix, family room with single day bed, pool table, fireplace, Netflix, and a two car garage. Linens, towels, dishes, cookware, basement laundry are provided. Firewood for fireplaces is also provided. Take in all of what the Adirondacks have to offer or just enjoy the peaceful setting.

We are a family of 4, stayed for 3 nights. The house is impeccable, the owners provided very specific and clear instructions for our arrival and were almost immediate in response to a question we had regarding the basement television. The house is fully equipped with anything you might need, and the basement with pool table was perfect for us to enjoy an evening in with our teenage sons. Whiteface is only 20 minutes away and an easy drive, making this an ideal location if you plan on skiing. I cannot recommend Stickney House enough and look forward to coming back again!

The property was great! We, thoroughly, enjoyed having a fully functional kitchen to do our cooking. Being able to see deer out of the kitchen windows was a plus for myself and my girlfriend. Very relaxing atmosphere, I would highly recommend for anyone looking to be centrally located to all the sights in the area, and, also, for a relaxing stay.

September 2024 Adirondacks trip

We really enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located to what we wanted to do. We started the 50 Adirondacks waterfall challenge and completed 13. We plan to continue our quest next September. Everything worked at your home, the bed was comfortable and we loved the little gazebo in the back.

AuSable Forks Get Away

We has a wonderful time and the property was perfect for 4 adults and our dogs. The fenced in area with a nice gazebo and porch made it perfect when the rain kept us from doing outdoor activities. The house was big and comfortable, very clean, and close to so many hiking trails and different towns. The owner was so easy to communicate with and very accommodating! We would definitely stay here again!

Adirondack hiking

Great house. Easy drive to scores of hikes in the Adirondacks The gazebo is great for cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. Kitchen has everything...even parchment paper for makng biscuits. Highly recommend.

Little Country Cottage

The property was charming, and very remote. I booked it for my parents for the weekend during Ski Jumps World Cup. Although it was a bit far from Lake Placid, they thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the property, appreciated quiet and the surrounding nature. They would like to return someday! The owner Jessica, was just the sweetest, super helpful and easy to work with. Really recommend it if you're looking for privacy and nature retreat!

Amazing house

This house was really lovely. It was spacious, decorated in a nice retro style, and very clean. The gazebo in back (with screened windows that open on all sides) was lovely, and the location was beautifully secluded. I did some lovely bike rides nearby, and it wasn't too far a drive to major attractions. Our one concern is that the beds felt a bit hard to some of our party (but were fine for others), so if that is a concern for you it's worth inquiring. Overall, this was a great stay and so lovely. Highly recommended.

Hidden Gem in Ausable Folks

10/10 in cleanliness, easy communication with the host, proximity to major destinations, amazing quiet place. A charming house, close to all tourist destinations and sceneries like Lake Placid Olympics, Ausable Chasm, The Covered Bridge in Jay, Santa's Workshop, The Whiteface Mountain, Port Kent etc. Grocery stores, gasoline stations, and restaurants are a few minutes' drive. The gazebo, firepit, fireplace and the billiard table are great amenities. You got everything you need for cooking. Exquisite & relaxing vacation experience in the Adirondacks. We will be back!

Cozy Home On the Outskirts of the ADKs

This is very well maintained home with older styling and modern amenities. It reminded me of staying in my grandparents house, in the best possible way. It's in a very quiet neighborhood, but it's close to route 9N, and thus it's short drive to Whiteface Mountain, most of the High Peaks trailheads, plus countless other hikes of varying difficultly. It's also fairly close to Lake Placid, Keene, Keene Valley, and a bunch of other ADK towns, where you can find tasty food, and many excellent locally owned stores. Overall, I loved my time in the house, and I give it full marks as a home base to experience all the northern Adirondacks have to offer!

A peaceful retreat close to activities

Property was exactly as described. Very clean, very peaceful. Night skies full of stars and mornings full of bird song. Gazebo great place to relax and read with your morning coffee. Bedding very comfortable and there is plenty of room to spread out if traveling with others. Had a hiccup with Netflix and Jessica was very quick to respond to get the problem resolved. Had a nice surprise gift upon arrival and wishes for a safe trip home. Would definitely book this home if coming out to explore the Adirondacks again.

Week in the ADK's

Great house for our family. Pool table and TV in the basement kept us busy while we were at the house on bad weather days. Close to high peaks, grocery store, gas station, swimming areas and hiking trails. Made trips to Saranac Lake and Lake George while we were there which were not too far for day trips. Lake Placid is also near enough to travel to and spend a few hours. We didn't lack anything we needed or expected while we were there. Another great week in the Adirondacks.

Awesome Getaway Location

We stayed at Stickney House a little over a week. The property was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a week’s getaway. Great location close to Lake Placid, Wilmington/Whiteface, AuSable Chasm, High Falls Gorge, Keene Valley, etc. Some real nice dining options close by such as the Adirondack Mtn Cafe and the Ice Jam Inn. Wish we didn’t have to leave so soon! Thank you for a great experience Jessica!

Introduction to the Adirondacks

Great location for learning about the Adirondacks. Close to Lake Champlain as well. The property was true to the photos in the listing. The home was well put together and equipped with everything one might need for their stay. The picture window and the deck, gazebo and patio with swing provided ample opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Bathrooms were beautifully put together and ready to wash off the dust of the hike and sooth muscles with plenty of hot water, soap and lush towels. The Kitchen had a great selection of pans, utensils and flatware. Beautiful glassware and china too. Start your day with a cup of your preferred beverage at the Kurig and note the lovely warm air on your toes. The Locklins were very helpful hosts and we can thoroughly recommend Stickney House.

Perfect house for a great time

Great location close to Ski mountain. 1/2 the price than staying near town. Human cave downstairs filled everyones party needs. Would live to come back for fishing. trip.
