We had a great stay and we would absolutely go back again! Rich was awesome - the house was as advertised, his communication was excellent, and the house was large, comfortable, and very well kept. We had a snow storm one evening and Rich was in touch to communicate the plan for plowing and shoveling out - that was above and beyond anything we were expecting.
Beautiful, quiet and private. Friendly neighbors, lots of sitting areas conducive to good conversations. Beautifully appointed rooms have the summer cottage feel yet I’m sure it’s a very cozy stay in the winter, and will consider returning! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you stay here, be sure to look through the photo album showing the previous condition of the house and the transformation it underwent. Lots of work!
Came to region for work over 3 days..wanted a relaxing environment for my crew after long day versus a hotel which the house provided along with good choices in area for dinner.
Part of our family attending a funeral stayed here. It was a calm and wonderful place to be. The accommodation was perfect and the owner very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much
We really enjoyed staying at this place. The house is very spacious, including a huge backyard right on the lake. The kids played on the water, had fun with the kayaks and paddleboat, and all the games they had in the closet downstairs. Thanks Rich for the great hospitality. We will definitely be back.
Outstanding water front views! Incredible decks, why stay indoors? Immaculate accommodations! Such a great town, everything you need is a short trip away. Great restaurants, grocery, gas, convenience stores. Owner was gracious and accommodating!
Our family stayed at Rich's lake house in early July. There was plenty of space to spread out both indoors and out. We did not have much rain during our stay, but the covered porch was a great place to enjoy an early evening thunderstorm. The lake was the main attraction and the beach areas were perfect for both adults and the young children in our group. The beds were comfortable and all the living areas were clean and welcoming. Rich could not have been a more friendly and accommodating host. He expressed a genuine concern for the quality of our experience. I can recommend his place without reserve.
The house was very pleasant in a gorgeous setting. We stayed here so our immediate family could be together while traveling for my niece's wedding. Rich is an excellent host and we really enjoyed our weekend. I wish we'd had more time to sit and relax on the beautiful decks.

Sarah - it was such a pleasure to meet you, your husband and father and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay!! Wonderful guests I would highly recommend to anyone!
The house was perfect. We took a trip up for a family wedding and there was plenty of space for my 2 sisters in law, my niece, and my husband and I to relax and not be on top of each other. The peaceful atmosphere and lake view were very relaxing. We unfortunately weren’t able to do anything in the area or at the house other than lounge around, enjoy the lake views, and make breakfast but we’re contemplating planning another trip so we could take advantage.
We enjoyed our stay in this lakefront property. The house is large and is especially well-equipped for a group. There are 2 decks for entertaining and the kitchen has everything one could ask for, including kayaks for exploring the large lake. Rich, the property owner, was happy to help us with any problems and provided information on the dining, etc. in the town.

Ann-Louise and Michael were an absolute pleasure to meet and wonderful guests - I would highly recommend them to anyone considering entertaining them!
The host did not provide any type of check in information in advance. He only replied an hour before that he would meet us at the house. This should have been communicated prior to so that we could decide if we wanted to stay or not. We were not comfortable with that and never stayed there. When this was discussed he offered zero refund. An overall terrible experience and would never stay at any of his properties. If I could give a zero for the experience. I would. Beware.

Have never had previous problems communicating with guests and, in fact, agreed to accommodate this guest's request for an early check-in just one day earlier. Rather than contact me directly via text, phone or email (all provided at booking), this guest requested check-in instructions last minute via the app and I responded 2 hours prior to the agreed early check-in time of 1PM (by both text and the app). I offered to meet and welcome the guests at check-in as most folks appreciate being acclimated to our home, however, this was not a requirement and I happily offered to leave the keys when the guest objected. The guest insisted on cancelling instead and demanded a full refund despite my taking a half day from work to accommodate the early check-in request. In the past, we have accommodated last minute cancellations with full refund for unavoidable circumstances such as a death in the family, however, this cancellation felt arbitrary and capricious. There was clear communication 2 hours before early check-in and a full 5 hours before standard check-in - plenty of time to clear up any misunderstanding and accommodate this guest's preferences, which we offered to do. Our goal is for our guests to always have a wonderful experience, as this guest would have if they had kept their reservation.
We stayed a couple of days while we visited our family in Portland and Middletown. The house was a short distance to everything; grocery store, restaurants; winery, brewery and to our cousins we were visiting. The house was perfect for us, we were all comfortable while we were relaxing and we were all able to get ready without being in each other's way (hard to do when you have four women in the same space). We had a great time.
My husband and I were home for a very special occasion at Saint Clements Castle and for the holidays and it was the perfect location. The home owner was fabulous to work with. He even decorated for the holiday so we would feel right at home. Rich was extremely responsive with every question/need. Even though it was winter, the it was worth staying on the lake for the views.

Audrey and her husband were wonderful guests and very responsive - I would highly recommend them for any future VRBO hosts/stays!!
Our family had a nice, quiet stay at Richard's lake house. The location was wonderful...a large, flat lawn, close access to sandy beach areas for boat launch and play for the kids, quiet neighbors. The house amenities were everything we could have needed for our stay. Communication with Richard was easy and thorough. The house, while in good condition, was not as clean as anticipated, though this did not significantly detract from the quality of our stay.

We take great pride in both the overall condition and general cleanliness of our home and have never had an issue in 15+ years of renting. Communication with our guests has always been proactive and any concerns or issues are addressed promptly as we live only 15 minutes from our vacation home. Our cleaning policy is always to clean/sanitize/touch all services and launder/sanitize all linens and we will re-emphasize these standards with our cleaning service.
Comfortable house for five adults and three small children, with big living area, well functioning kitchen, big sturdy dining table and island seating. Large TV and fireplace. Very appealing outdoor seating areas with lake views. It rained so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor spaces, but indoor space was fine for family time with baby, toddler and preschooler. Nice neighborhood, convenient stores and restaurants.
Depite getting a flat on our way to our weekend away, needing to find a place the following day to get a new tires and the horrible rainy weather, we had a great time. It was my daughter's low-key bachelorette weekend. We brought lots of food and games with us but there were plenty of games there. The house is clean and homey. The owner kept in touch during our stay. Instructions for the fireplace was the only thing missing but we were fine without it. Im hoping to go back next summer or fall.
