We had a great stay! The house was as described, clean, and had easy access. Our hosts were awesome - they even found my lost sunglasses and mailed them back to me! We'd definitely stay there again!
Sarah is an excellent communicator and wonderful host. My husband and I, along with my daughter and her family enjoyed a two week family vacation. The place is immaculate, and there was plenty of toys for my grandkids. Our only complaint was it wasn’t directly on the beach (obviously or it would’ve been more expensive ) and the king size mattress is a little soft for my bad back. Otherwise, everything about the place was wonderful!
Our family gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving together and enjoyed our time at your house! We cooked an entire meal and had everything we needed. The rooms were comfortable, highly recommend!
Thanks for the hospitality. This was a great spot for us to stay with our kids while visiting friends that live in town. Hosts were very responsive and house was very clean. Appreciate the flexibility of the owners and understanding of our needs traveling with kids.
We booked this pet friendly house as a base camp for a dog competition. Loved the back yard with a hammock and fireplace. House was clean plus more than enough room for 2 adults and a dog. Lake was beautiful. I would book this again.
Our stay at The Lake House was very nice. Very clean, bright, and comfortable. This was the best way to accommodate my Mother-in-law to celebrate her Great Granddaughter's First birthday. She traveled from Los Angeles, Ca.
The Lake House provided Cozy, comfortable place for the family to be together.
Thank you i would rent again.
We had a group of four adults, two kids (6 and 3), and one dog stay for three nights. The house is beautifully decorated, cozy and welcoming, and had enough room for all of us. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the extra blankets they had in a basket in the living room since we were able to snuggle up under them while watching tv. My kids had a lot of fun trying to play dominoes with their Aunt and Uncle, as well as playing in the backyard with the toy trucks in the shed and trying out the hammock - they had never seen one before and thought it was the coolest thing.
The hosts were available and very responsive. House was clean and well taken care of. We didn’t get to use the fire pit, but we sat back there a few times and it was very peaceful. Our dog loved hanging out in the mulch with us.
There is a steep hill between the house and one of the two beaches (two steep hills for the other one - we liked the second one better since it was sandier and you could walk in rather than climb in using stairs.) We found it easiest to walk to the beaches downhill then have one adult walk back to the house to get the car so we didn’t have to try and carry the kids and all the stuff back uphill.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and we’d definitely recommend Mohawk Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway on a beautiful lake.
This property was clean and cozy. The owner went out of her way to include information about the area and other places nearby to enjoy. Highly recommend
This was a perfect size house for our two little ones and dog. It even came with a pack n play, high chair, and kid plates/utensils. Sarah was a great host. She was very responsive, answered questions, and provided good recommendations.
First, we were thoroughly pleased with how immaculate everything was upon our arrival, sparkling clean, like we were the first guests ever. Our time leading up to arrival was extraordinary, communication was a 10 plus. Every question was answered and such positive interaction is always appreciated! Home was comfortable, well appointed and the perfect getaway for us to see our children, grandson and friends. Great place to go and relax. The owners should be called “super hosts” for how the treated us! We enjoyed a truly wonderful week!
We recently stayed at the Mohawk Cottage while visiting family in East Hampton. With two rambunctious kids, we wanted a bit more space to spread out than our relatives' guest room, and this fit the bill perfectly! This is a great rental for families with kids--ours loved the bunk beds, and the furniture and decor is all kid-proof. The owners even provided a high chair for us to use. We enjoyed walking down to the beach with our morning coffee (it is a steep hill coming back, fyi), and were able to see fireworks on the lake from our driveway on the Fourth of July. Dollar General is a quick walk for anything you forgot to pack, and the grocery store and pharmacy are a short drive away. We had a wonderful vacation, and this cottage was a comfortable place to rest our heads at night.
We stayed at the Mohawk cottage for three nights, as it was close to my FIL’s retirement party. The house is within walking distance to Lake Pocotopaug BUT there are steep hills on the walk back. Schlepping with beach bags and little ones might be a challenge. Lol. The owner is very responsive and communicates quickly. House is very clean and well stocked. Overall, a great experience!
we had an amazing time the house was wonderful and just like it was advertised on vrbo, sarah was amazing to work with and communicated with us a couple of times but not too much that it felt intrusive. if i had to change one thing the beds in the twin bedroom were hard and not overly comfortable and could use a foam topper but other than that it was everything we wanted and needed it to be for our family traveling from arkansas to connecticut to see my brothers and their families. thank you again conner and sarah
